The quality of sushi was average. I liked the specialty rolls, but did not enjoy salmon sashimi. They had very quick service. It was almost empty, price was reasonable.

low key Family owned spot in Franklin in the Kroger parking lot. Service was great and played music ideal for any audience. My wife and I ate the salmon teriyaki, great flavor. The rest of the people in the restaurant enjoyed the sushi. This is not a reservation or dress fancy place. Recommend if in the area.

GREAT Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao!! Sushi rice was a bit "mushy" for our liking, BUT we'll be back :)

As a former Californian, I am used to very good Asian food, and an write picky about authentic good food. Living in Spring Hill, I don't have time to go up and search for places in Nashville, so I look closer to home such as Columbia and Franklin. One of my pet peeve's about this area is that everything is fusion. This restaurant is no exception. Even though it is named and listed as a Japanese restaurant, I think it's primarily Thai. However, I was in the mood for pho, but settled on this place because it had high reviews. I was gonna get udon, but they turned out to not have udon. Yes, they had sushi and teriyaki, but no udon. They did, however, have all typical Thai dishes, including a Thai pho, which I risked getting, assured that it didn't have sugar in it. Bad news? It was not Vietnamese pho. Good news? It was amazingly delicious. It tasted like good pho with an orangish color on the broth from Thai chilies. I usually don't put anything in my pho other than basil and sprouts (no hot sauce). But this soup was fresh and very tasty. I dare say better than regular pho!! My wife ordered a Thai fried noodle dish which looked and tasted exactly like chow fun, but spicy. It too was delicious. I also ordered a sake nigiri (salmon), which was generous and good. Bottom line, best Asian food I've had here, better sushi and food than jasmine, remarkable Thai pho, but not a full Japanese menu. Will have to look elsewhere for a good nabeyaki udon.

Man. Just not good. Shocked at all the high rated reviews. Menu online looked great, ordered two entrees and it was just terrible. Basically a few pieces of warmed frozen chicken from the freezer section of a grocery store and old lettuce. Shrimp entree was slightly better, but not much. There are great Asian restaurants around Franklin, and I expected so much more, especially for the price. Pickup order. Attached invoice with marked out name so owner can address.

Very pleasant surprise in a nondescript cluster of strip malls that are anchored by a large Kroger grocery. Enter Sakura and immediately turn right through a curtained doorway then left into a moderately small room with a handful of tables and a sushi bar where you can watch a master chef at work. Starters; Harumaki...a flavorful Japanese Vegetable Spring Rolls unlike most relatively bland Spring rolls that need Duck Sauce. This had subtle flavors that were delicious and intriguing. Crunchy Crab Roll with spicy sauce and the Spicy Tuna Roll both deliver on flavor and distinct textures from crunchy to creamy. Mild spice. Cashew Chicken. Flavor profile was relatively plain and the dish a bit too wet (with no serving spoon to dish out for sharing.) Need to try some other Thai dishes to provide accurate rating...and I will ... be back soon. Service...super courteous and almost too attentive. This restaurant is an example of "Asia meets Southern Hospitality" with great results.

Tucked away in a strip mall in Franklin is a really good little sushi spot that is definitely worth checking out! We decided to call in an order and do takeout tonight, and everything was fresh, hot, and ready quickly. We started with a couple appetizers -- the Edamame and Gyoza, and both were very good. For entrees, we ordered the Chicken Fried Rice, which was flavorful and loaded with chicken. We also tried a California Roll and a Shrimp Tempura Roll, and both hit the spot. But the real star of the night was one of their Signature Rolls, the Yummy Roll! Made with crab, cream cheese, and avocado, then topped with eel, this thing was absolutely amazing. If you're feeling adventurous, skip straight to the Signature Rolls because that's where this place really shines. Inside, they have several tables and booths, plus a couple seats right in front of the sushi chef if you want the full experience. The service was outstanding from start to finish. They even called me by name when I arrived and carried the food out to my car that kind of customer service is hard to find these days. If you live in Franklin and haven't tried this place yet, what are you waiting for?

The sashimi portions were unusually thin and oddly shaped--some pieces looked more like narrow strips than the generous cuts you'd expect. It gave me the impression that the fish was sliced as thinly as possible to create more pieces. The fish tasted okay, but the portion sizes simply didn't justify the price. The presentation was also underwhelming. There was no garnish or attention to detail, making the platter look very basic for what we paid. The piece by the fork for reference, maybe because it's a Friday night, last run? And they just scraped whatever left and gave it to us? We also ordered the pho, and unfortunately it wasn't much to write home about either. The noodles weren't fully cooked. Maybe I should have just ordered the Thai dishes, but if you're going to offer sushi on the menu, it should be held to the same standard. Customers shouldn't have to guess which parts of the menu are worth ordering. Overall, I don't mind paying premium prices for quality food, but I do expect the quality, portions, and presentation to match the price. Unfortunately, this experience didn't deliver. The photos speak for themselves.

The atmosphere is like a restaurant in a store. Oh, wait, it is a restaurant in a store. But I wasn't here for the ambiance. I was here for the food. The benefit of being in a market is you can grab Asian items for home, including some fruits and vegetables you won't find at your local Kroger. I included the menu, so you can see how reasonable the prices are. I will also state the portions are good for the price. As for the market, there is a nice selection of items from Asia or used in Asian dishes. I also found some interesting snack items, including versions of lays potato chips I have never seen in a US based grocery. I usually hit K&S, so need to compare prices, as both of these are about equi-distant to where I lived right now (although 24 is more of a pain than 40 west). Kudos to a great experience.
