    Tomato pie perfection!!
    J K.

Family owned and operated. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Excellent customer service and great prices too. What really stands out, is the quality of their ingredients. Always fresh and full of flavor! Their hoagies are delicious and their Tomato Pie is the best around. Keep doing what you do Sal and family, you guys are the best!! A++

Chicken tenders were legit and good size.

My first time coming to Sal's and unfortunately I wasn't impressed first the staff was nice when I ordered or had any questions but after I received my food is when things went down hill, they forgot an item I ordered so I had to wait some time to get it, once we got home and started eating we noticed the amount of food was not equal to the amount we paid, the cheesesteaks taste ok and the amount of meat was small compared to other places we ate, get a cheesesteak at Curly's and then you'll understand, wings were ok but the sauce was watery, pizza was ok but needed to be a bit more chard for my taste, pizza fries were small and needs more sauce, chicken tenders were good no complaints there, overall we spent near $70 and for that amount I was expecting more food and above average taste. Over-priced for average Italian food.

    Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak
    Jaison M.

I've heard great things and glad to hear they opened backup at a new location. Pizza was great. Had that nice crust you could hear crunch in your mouth, but the perfect pull. If you know you know! Look at those crisp edges! The Buffalo chicken cheesesteak was delicious. You know when you open up the wrap and it's just covered in juices from the cheese and meat melting together! The wings were good. The sauce is local and always a win. Highly suggest. The only negative I have out of all things is the blue cheese for the wings. It was almost too light like a Caesar. I actually thought it was before trying. It was very light and didn't have the usual "bite" blue cheese does. Overall a definite recommend and will be trying other items from the menu. Also they prefer cash. I was short by a dollar and he said give me whatever you got! 5 stars just based on that gesture and kindness. I did get the extra cash to pay

Great place, great people, great food! Everything was delicious and so fresh! We will definitely be going back! The Nonna Special was absolutely delicious, from the mozzarella to the roll. This Italian girl left very happy

The food and service is awesome you really are family when you go there. Had their hoagies pizza and hot tubs all of it was delicious

roast pork with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone
    Casey P.

sals just reopened last week. the new joint looks super fresh and clean. they used to be in bristol inside total liquidators. this family knows exactlyyyyy what they're doing. you always get the best service here. the pizzas are always crisp. you won't see a floppy slice anywhere near sals. the cheese and sauce is fantastic. i used to get the roast pork with broccoli rabe and provolone all the time. the roast pork legitimately falls apart and has such a bangin taste. juicy and flavorful. it's not hard to tell that everything they serve is always fresh. these days i've moved on the the brooklyn pie. they sure do know how to whip a brooklyn up. no floppy slices here!!!

I've been here quite a few times and never had a problem... They have all kinds of food items…read more.. From lunch meat to salads, pickles as well as pickled eggs and quite a bit more... They share the building with many other small stores... They have plenty of areas to park in front and in the rear... There are also plenty of Handicapped parking spaces...

They have three kinds of potato salad. I asked what the difference was between Sadie's very yellow…read morepotato salad and the very white Philadelphia style potato salad. The young boy said Sadie's had lots of mustard and eggs in it and the Philadelphia was with herbs. Both looked very good and then I spotted a girl filling a large pan with red skin potato salad and I said "oh, I'll have that." Every regular customer shot a look at me, like are you nuts? The boy who is turning around to get the red skin salad says " Sadie's is our number one seller" and at that each customer shook their heads yes. I bought Sadie's, did I have a choice and it was very good. I do make potato salad all the time, so I rarely, if never buy it out. I make mine with a lot of cooked egg yolks only, mustard, dill and the only sweetness it gets is from the little sweet pickle relish I add to it . Sadie's is okay and it was missing the crunch of not enough onion or celery. One could easily do all of their shopping here and forget the rest of the market. Located right inside the market and to your right, it starts with a huge glass doored refrigerator with glass bottled milks, cream and non cheese dairy products. Along the first side of this Deli is a very large open cooler with many homemade cheeses, including all the ones you are familiar with and many that have different flavors blended in. The other half of this cooler is filled with so many cheese spreads and of course I have to try the unusual ones. As you round the corner there are huge barrels of various deli style pickles. These were huge pickles and one would easily fill you up. Next is a large sliced meat counter and Lebanon bologna is plentiful. They do not make deli sandwiches though and I think this is a huge mistake. Located past the cash stand and they do accept credit cards if your purchase is over twenty dollars, is a mile long glass enclosed cooler filled with homemade salads, slaw's, meals to go like barbecued pulled pork, chicken and dumplings, baked beans and ham salad. Towards the end of this cooler it is filled with homemade desserts, like chocolate eclair pudding, tapioca, rice pudding, bread pudding and oodles more. Now you do realize it is not a mile long, but with my tongue hanging out, it seemed close to it. When you first walk into the market there is a cafeteria style dining area. As we sat down to eat some of the many foods that we had bought, we witnessed so many regulars walking in knowing exactly what they wanted, returning clean glass bottles and restocking on milk products for the week, since the market is only open Thursday through Saturday. We also noticed young Amish boys, with their bowl styled haircuts take a seat in the cafeteria and not one missed the chance to bow their heads and give thanks for the food they were about to receive. Walking through this Amish Farmer's Market, you will see lots of folks who own businesses here and several of them have the last name of Stoltzfus, this one is Ben and his card simply reads Stoltzfus Country Deli, although the place itself and the web site read as headlined for this review. So this is what I bought, Crab-meat cocktail cheese spread, loaded with crab-meat and hubby claimed it, which is fine because it was a bit too sweet for my tastes, although with a layer of that on a crisp and another heaping layer of the garlic shrimp scampi cheese spread, it was yummylicious! Love the garlic shrimp scampi spread and it had a kick to it too, even better. Hubby wanted a sandwich from here and was disappointed to find out they did not make sandwiches, but he did want cole slaw and he liked Sadie's potato salad, even though he says mine is so much better. I bought some of the chicken and dumplings and they were very good and so bothersome to make at home, especially when hubby does not like dumplings. I make a ham pot pie, which is like a chicken and dumplings, but with ham, potatoes, dumplings, onions and french style green beans. I grew up on Pa. Dutch foods and their pulled pork barbecue sauce tasted exactly like mine, which of course is very good and the pork was perfectly shredded and lean. With Pa. Dutch and Amish farmer's markets around, I see myself doing a lot less cooking, a lot more eating and to that I say Amen!

I never went into or inquired about the deli, mainly because there is a mural of a Burrito on the side of the building, and I thought it was all Mexican food they made. I love Mexican food but I was confused because of the deli sign. It all made sense once I went inside, but first, I want to explain my impression at first site. The outside is lively, with its "bright"; you can't miss the blue shade that makes the house stand out. I know this because I used it as a landmark where my turn is for my friend's house. One day, I just stopped in to grab a menu; I meant menus. Usually, when I see a restaurant with an extensive, long menu, I cringe, but this is not a restaurant. When I first walked in, it looked like a mom-and-pop grocery store. Then I saw their hot food plates, and they had Pintos & Beans, and Rice, all separate. It reminded me of when I would grab a bite on the run when I lived in Tampa; they were all good food memories, so I was pleasantly surprised and excited about ordering from them. The owner, the Chef in charge, told me breakfast was popular, and after I tried his breakfast Buritto, I understood why. Delicious!! You can order a la carte or, if brave, one of the signature breakfast burritos or sandwiches. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a Kaiser roll with extra sharp cheddar cheese, and I loved it enough to go back a second time for the pinto and beans mixed with pieces of pork, which was very yummy, and I had to try the Chicken Caesar salad. I know it's not the best combination, but I wanted to try them both, and each was very good. The salad dressing has to be up to par, or else it ruins the salad, and their Caesar salad dressing made the cut, I was very pleased. This place is a hidden gem of a deli; it has unique menu choices and something for everyone, children included. There is a short wait time because their sandwiches are not pre-made. The portions are large and always have leftovers. Prices are reasonable. So, if you're in the mood for something with a kick or without the kick with an array of options, give it a try. Make it as hot as you like or as mild as can be; it's all delicious. It's a take-out only and not wheelchair accessible because of the steps up to the door: cash or credit. The staff is friendly and helpful, and it's a plus that you can pick up items you forgot at the grocery store while you wait. They sell all the necessities, from canned goods and trash bags to pet foods. They do have clean restrooms. I do recommend the State Road Deli, and I'm looking forward to going back again.

New owner did put a new twist to the menu. There is a lot more options for breakfast and lunch.read more

One good change is they actually have an electric deli slicer! It was breakfast time so I decided to check out their offering. It's nice that they have a touchscreen so you can customize and order food yourself. The people working there were on the quiet side, but nice. I went with a Turkey Sausage, Egg and Cheese on a Bagel with jalapenos. The wait wasn't too bad, they have one person manning the grill and another helping to finish sandwiches off. The long roll option looked intriguing, but I'm more of a bagel guy for my sandwiches. It's nice to be able to watch your sandwich being made, but the kitchen and the store could use some cleaning and better lighting. My sandwich was average. The jalapenos were fresh and had a nice crunch, the amount of toppings were just plentiful and the bagel was fresh, but on the smaller end. For pennies under $4 I would say it was a decent value. There are better breakfast sandwich joints to be had in the area, but this one was ok.

The other sandwiches they were making looked very good. They use a good amount of meat. On the ordering kiosk the picture of the grilled mushrooms looked very good. I got the grilled mushrooms and then paid the extra $1.50 for Sharp provolone thinking it would be a good combo with the mushrooms. The mushrooms and onions spend a good amount of time on the grill together. Unfortunately they needed more time and more mushrooms and onions. They kind of got lost in the cheesesteak. They ran out of sharp provolone so I got half regular provolone but was still allowed to pay the full $1.50. Good cheesesteak experience.
