Nasty Mondays at Sala Apolo are an experience. More an experience for anyone not old enough to know what a landline is, but an experience nonetheless. Wanted to do something semi local and not a night club on a Monday, so did some digging and Nasty Mondays popped up. A bartender said she loved the venue on Sunday nights so that was green light enough for me. There were two lines upon arrival and I'm not entirely sure what the difference between the two was, but somehow my pal and I were the last to be shuffled in via the fast moving line. We still had to pay a cover but it was the price of a drink and included a drink, so win/win all around. It's a pretty spacious venue with an upstairs and downstairs and some haphazardly roped off VIP section for people with bottle service (which seems unnecessary given the music selection and vibe of the evening). The music was a mix between rock and '80s, which is not my fave but the kiddos seemed to enjoy it. It gets packed quickly and the "Nasty" part is when these two DJs get on stage and do some interesting theatrics before they start spinning. Entertaining, definitely. The music stayed relatively the same and while it was a little more upbeat because of the energy from the stage, it got late and I grew more tired instead of "let's rage." I went for the famous "Nasty Monday" and it certainly didn't disappoint! It's so packed for a Monday night! The party runs every week from around 2am to 6am (nightlife of Barcelona starts super late). Entrance fee was 16 euros with a free drink. The alcohol was of really bad quality. Literally got a stomach ache a few hours later, but the music was impressive! They mainly played famous American rock songs. Your guilty pleasure songs might very well be on the list. Very danceable and fun. The crowd was pretty amazing. You could definitely hit up some convos with strangers from all over the world. Too packed close to the main stage but there were some good spots up the terrace. There was another scene down the basement playing the "nasty bass". They're DJing some EDM and electro. Honestly, the beats were not bad at all, even though we didn't know any of the music. read more

Nasty Mondays is an experience. There is a €15 cover for everyone (includes 1 drink) but would I go again? Absolutely. The beach clubs (i.e. Opium) are good for a night or two, but if you're looking to do something different with a more local crowd, this is it. There are 2 floors -- the ground floor which is the main one -- and downstairs, where they play more trancey type music. The upstairs stage specializes in heavily American (mostly late 90s/early 00s) feel good music, think: Blink 182, Franz Ferdinand, Sublime, Jet, Smash Mouth interspersed with The Doors, Beatles, The Clash, Kanye, etc. Great way to spend a Monday night in Barcelona tho. read more

This is very very popular place here, has a lot of rock concerts here. I've only been here once but it was a great time (which could completely be because of liquor). Two floors, when I went on a thursday the bottom floor played old school hip hop and pop, the 2nd floor played 80s hits. It got pretty packed pretty quick. read more

A fun place to party the night away. Best time to arrive is around 1-2am. Drinks are usually included with the admission fee so hold on to your ticket. Check on their website which dj's are playing as they have different styles on different nights (everything from reggae to house music to indie to rock). The security are great too. read more

The atmosphere and the dance floor setup was nice. The only problem I had was the music. It was like beating your face against the wall, house music. The same beat for 10 minutes straight, All build up and no drop. They need to update their dj lists. read more

This club was pretty cool. There are two dance floors, one on the street floor and a larger one above. The music is fairly eclectic: ranging from electro to rock to Afrikaans hip hop. I didn't try the drinks, so I can't speak much for pricing. The only issue I had is the bouncers. Most we're very respectful and kind, however one took the cigarette off a girl I was sitting next to and put it out on my lips, after I had asked him not to touch me. I doubt this is an adequate description of all the bouncers, so I guess the only advice I can offer is to steer clear of anyone smoking. All in all, the bouncer's abuse really ruined my experience. It was so boring, we were there until 3:10am, had to pay €12 each to get in! And couldn't get our money back when there were only 10 people dancing around for 30 minutes straight (I.e. We gave it a chance for a while!) . I've been to hundreds of clubs in my life and this was amongst the lamest. Don't waste your money. read more

I stayed in Poble Sec and this was a five minute walk. I had the time of my life dancing here. We went yesterday, Saturday night, at 2ish and it was a bit slow but by 3 am it was packed. The DJ played techno house music and the picture someone posted of the colored lights and the fog is pretty reflective of the vibe. It was 15 Euros to get in which included a free drink. first of all i am from los angeles. I went with my buddy to the "USA" dj night. This guy sucked balls. I mean... royally. my buddy stopped me from going up there to hand him a note saying .. bro.. dont you realize .. not a single f*cking person is dancing. Change your sh*t up. The guy was awful I mean really bad. We gave up and left because he was so bad. I will be tracking down the management to complain about my fellow american because he just was an embarrassment . anyone that has been to vegas and rolls into this place will go up and punch the dude in the face. barcelona's answer to the "Fillmore"? well its pretty cool. lots of international bands play this 800 cap venue. great vibes in the upstairs big room. good lighting and sight lines. balcony. check out the monthly burlesque gig "Taboo". there is also downstairs 350 cap smaller venue w good sound. read more
