Stopped in for lunch at 1 PM on a weekday and they were busy with takeout orders and drive through, with a few of us dining in. We got in our order and it took about 6-7 minutes for our food to come out. It was packaged to-go, so I guess that way we got forks. The food was very hot (temperature) and a nice blend of flavors with a lot of rice. I got the Gyro Bowl and my wife got the Grilled Shrimp Bowl. But it's not; you only get 2 additional oysters on the platter, making it 8 total oysters. I paid over $16 for the oyster platter (8 oysters) and a salad! Horrible deal, and the mushrooms and poppers were overcooked. I ordered via Doordash, and they also sucked! No resolution, not even over the overcooked food from either Doordarsh or Salem's. They have plenty of food to chose from, whether it heavy American food, seafood, middle eastern food or some light options. I haven't had a bad item yet. Their gyro, shrimp, fish, Greek salad, and pie are the ones that stand out as being the best I've ordered. They are open very late into the night for that after bar crowd. They also have chicken gizzards here which is a food I like when I can find it. They did make a mistake on our drive thru order recently, when we ordered 4 Gyro's (2 for $9.99 special), as we ordered 3 without onions, but received 4 without onions and 1 without tzatziki sauce, which was odd, but not overly bad. I'm fine with the line being long. I am fine with them being in a rush because the line is getting long. But what I am not fine with is the past three times that I've gone my food has been messed up. I finally get home, expecting them to get the order right and they didnt. They game me shrimp. This is where they lost me as a customer for life. I called back and said "may I speak to a manager?" They put my on hold for 11 minutes. I call back and ask to speak to a manager again and the manager puts me on hold for another 4 minutes just to say "it's against policy. You can bring the food back and we'll refund it." I explained to her that I do not live close and that was ridiculous to have that as the only resolution. (It showed my version on the order on their screen...lol) So it was the Cook's fault. The Gyro meat in the Gyro was cold. Why is the meat of the Gyro COLD? Blows my mind, that you shave the meat from the vertical rotisserie, char it on the grill to wake it up and serve it! Well that did not happen. So I ate it cold. No, I didn't go and complain, because we already shamed them once over the Chicken Wings. And you know.... I would not recommend this place, nor will I return. Salem's is the go to late night Uber Eats order. I always get the gyro and wing combo, a pita with classic gyro fillings and 5 wings in your choice of sauce. The lemon pepper dry rub option is perfection. I've tried the saucy ones as well but they put too much sauce for me, too messy. I always order extra tzaiki but sometimes they forget it and combo usually implies it comes with a drink but it doesn't. I pulled through a drive through for the first time and was surprised with how large the menu is, not everything is available on Uber Eats so I'm glad I checked it out in person.
