    Hash omelette
    Mark S.

We went to Sally & Bob's Eatery for breakfast and it was great! I got the hash omelette and my wife got the spinach & tomato eggs benedict. The hash omelette was good and I got it served with their homemade hot sauce which was not too spicy but very tasty! The service was extremely attentive and we got asked 10 times whether we had everything we needed and if we need more water, coffee, or whatever. We will be back!

The staff here is amazing! So friendly and attentive. Breakfast is great - the challah french toast is the best. Fruit was fresh. Nice outside seating and plenty of tables inside.

Amazing service and breakfast. The veggie omelette was very tasty and required no condiment use at all. Side of bacon was perfection. Can't wait to come back and enjoy again. Gluten-free toast is available too!

This place is much bigger than it looks from the outside and they embrace the idea of the bottomless cup of coffee! My friend had to take a lengthy medical call just as we sat down and the servers never rushed us at any time. Several servers walk around refilling coffee at all times. The food came out quickly and I loved the options to substitute fruit for home fries and turkey sausage for pork sausage. Great service and good food! I will be back again, maybe for lunch!

"Down on the corner Out in the street" (Creedence Clearwater Revival) Not too far from West Hartford's crazy busy corner where North Main Street hits Farmington Avenue you'll find a local institution known as Sally and Bob's. It's only been around since 1969. Just like the street corner they're near, Sally and Bob's was also crazy busy at 10am on a Tuesday. So busy that there was a wait to sit inside. So, with the nice weather, we gladly took a table at their outdoor patio by the front door. We had an excellent breakfast of two omelets and two coffees for $29.25 before tip. Both omelets came with a pile of home fries and toast. My Mexican Omelet ($13) was a thing of beauty with thinly sliced Chorizo, jalapenos, onions, tomato & Monterey Jack cheese. The home fries were great- small cubes of tender potatoes with a crispy surface. My two slices of rye toast were perfectly toasted. When our server (Jazz) asked if I wanted any ketchup or hot sauce for my omelet, I asked for hot sauce. Jazz asked if I wanted their homemade hot sauce, and this is where my breakfast soared into a new dimension. Now let's be real, if you're a hot sauce guy or gal, how can you possibly refuse to try someone's homemade hot sauce. I'm telling you, it was amazing, with a smoky chipotle flavor and a medium heat level. It was far from nuclear, but I'd rather have a ton of flavor than a white-hot Novocain burn. Portion sizes were great, we both took home half of our omelets and potatoes. The coffees were very good and were $3 each. We really enjoyed our visit to Sally and Bob's. We had driven by it maybe 100 times and always said "we should try them some day". Well yesterday was the day, and it was excellent. PRO TIP Free parking in a big lot behind the restaurant. Look for an entry driveway just north of their building.

This restaurant is amazing. Very rarely would you find great customer service and terrific food. This restaurant is now my favorite in West Hartford. Their breakfast specials on the big-screen TV are a nice added touch. The bathroom is spotless, the restaurant is clean, and you can tell the owner loves what they do.

Are a bunch of their breakfast specials and it was so good. Corn beef hash was good and not too heavy. Scrambled eggs cooked exactly how I like it and not too salty. French toast was BOMB love the vibes and this place and the servers are so sweet. They were checking if we needed anything very often and multiple different servers. Want to come back!!

Oh my word. If you want a diner breakfast in the heart of west Hartford this is your spot! Huge portions and an amazing staff. Our server George was so attentive and even gave us coffees to go! The spot is small so you may have to wait

Came here on a Sunday for brunch for two without a reservation. It does seem to get busy though so recommend coming earlier! Food: - Homemade corned beef hash and eggs: brings me back to my childhood with this dish! Love the runny yolk with my corned beef hash. It comes with homefries and toast, but you can substitute this out for other options for a fee. Add a little hot sauce for the perfect bite! The portion size is big, so come hungry. - Lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberries: this was one of the specials on the day that we came. The pancakes were light and airy due to the ricotta with a light lemon flavor that paired well with the fresh blueberries. Service/Ambiance: Cute old school diner vibes! Food took a bit longer than expected to come out, but the place was completely full. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Free parking in the back of the restaurant, which is great since West Hartford center can be challenging for parking. Overall: solid mom and pop style diner for breakfast in CT!

Food and service were above and beyond! The pumpkin cinnamon swirl pancakes and chorizo eggs Benedict... So good. There was a wait to get in but so worth it!!

New Year's Eve dinners/New Year's day brunch specials, in my experiences, have always been a cash grab by restaurants where you would get a decent meal but always leave hungry or the opposite where the price was super extravagant yet food was mediocre at best. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE!!! Food was amazing. Chicken was spiced and fried to perfection. Crunchy without being greasy. I refuse to eat fried chicken in public yet almost human eating this with people around. Juicy meat, 4 piece of half breast, wing, thigh and drummy all meaty. Sides of picked pepper mac&cheese and Cole slaw. My wife tore into that coleslaw like her life depended on it and was everything she's been looking for in a slaw Breakfast burrito was packed full of goodness, substantial. Side of potatoes which could've been a meal in of itself. $19 and well worth it. Brought half home for breakfast the next day. All in all, not only was their value in the prices offered throughout the menu, the food is incredible. Service was amazing. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, good eye for when we needed something without us having to ask. Perfect start to the new year and aching to come back for dinner. It was worth staying home NYE and falling asleep early in order to be fresh and ready for this dining experience.

The place looked spacious and with a lot of light, it looked clean and they seemed to have a nice selection of wines (for those that like it) , they were displayed for people to see, which I thought looked very nice. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and I found it odd that there was only 1 restroom for the size of the restaurant. Our waiter was nice, he took our order and we were excited. The food took a VERY long time, we were starving, and we had kids with us so that wasn't good. Some of our orders were wrong and so unfortunately we had to wait even longer for the right meal. We didn't order alcohol but we did older a couple of mocktails. I was SUPER excited for them because that's something I always appreciate at a restaurant. I'm sad to say that they were AWFUL!! straight up syrup, not bubbly (some were supposed to have soda in them) not sweet, simply not enjoyable at all, I ended up switching it for a simple club soda, I figured it was a safe bet. When my food came out, it was ok, I had the avocado toast, and it was forgettable, my sister had the chicken and waffles and now THAT was the meal to get, it was large in portion and that chicken was beyond tasty!! My other sister has the lomito sandwich with the chips and it was good, something missing but she enjoyed it. The rest of the food were burgers and they were ok, the kids had burgers and Mac and cheese and they were not tasty according to the children's disinterest in barely touching their food (and they love cheeseburgers). I'm always willing to bypass certain things as long as customer service delivers BUT unfortunately they fell short. We were celebrating an engagement and so we were all very happy and in a great mood, when suddenly workers around us were cleaning up the neighboring tables, and even sweeping very close to us. We thought the place was possibly closing? (Even though it was only 2:15pm). I asked if they were closing and they said that they close the restaurant from 3-4 so their employees can go eat .... I'm not against giving them a break BUT, it really felt like they were kicking us out, we felt pressured to eat fast and wrap it up, not a good feeling, when you are in the zone of happiness. It was our first time there so, I would have appreciated if they would have informed us that the restaurant takes a little break in between and then we would have decided if we wanted to stay or go elsewhere. They did bring a little dessert and 2 mocktails for the newly engaged which was nice, I'll give them that. Overall, I don't think the food and experience was worth me coming back or recommending this place, I'm sure there's other much better places.
