Popped in today to get some hydrating products since I had my hair bleached and blonded. I am by no means a girlie girl and am clueless. I go to Sallys when I need help because the employees have been really great to me. I was having a great experience with the new employee there today (Did not get her name). But then the manager or whoever she was, weirded me out. Looking at me like a used car salesman. . . She had what I call ABF. Like RBF but Active. Got some good advice before my customer svc chic had to help someone else at the register because she was on by herself. I was really friendly and have AuDHD chatterbox syndrome, so maybe that bothered them?? I don't know what it was but I miss the other employees and managers. Will probably shop online from now on. Store opens at 9:00am but girl in store was ringing up orders and would not make eye contact to two customers waiting by door. Managers, don't you check to make sure your store opens on time? When she finally opened the store she had an attitude. Didn't want to ask her for help when i couldn't find the hair dye. Never had issues with this store before. I know Sally's to be a bit of an iconic legendary store to buy your odds and ends:) when it comes to beauty including makeup and hair, hair brushes-colors, caps, wigs, pins and berettes lol:) everything beauty is inclusive in Sally's Beauty Supply. My personal fav is the nail brand selection. I love O.P. I. But I also love another 2-3 brands based on their color and the prices and the overall varying of nail selection whether your real nails or acrylics! It's all fun! I have never experienced such a HORRIBLE customer service as I did today. I went in with the intentions of buying fall nail colors. The manager approached me and was very helpful and even told me I could swatch them with the tape. He left to help a customer and asked a sales person to assist me. She showed me how to swatch it then left. I went to select other colors (I had already selected 5/6) and came back with 2 green hues to swatch. She was at the register not helping anyone and so I asked her opinion on what green would go with the other fall colors I selected Se did not even move to where I was in the beginning and when I asked again then she moved to look at the green swatches. I then asked her if they had gold glitter nail polish and she said everything was out there. I asked her if she knew what brand had it ( usually every brand has some type of gold glitter) and she said she didn't know. She mentioned some peel off glitter thing. It was obvious to me that she did not want to help me or understand customer service but was there to merely collect a paycheck. The sad part of it for your company and me was that I would have easily bought 2-3 more polishes if it weren't for her terrible attitude and lack of customer service. It really spoiled my shopping experience there. With all retail vying for shoppers and sales, you would think customer service would be stepped up but not in this case. Very disappointed! Right when I got in, I didn't get greeted or anything but I smiled at this girl employee behind the cashier stand. I grabbed what I needed and waited in line. There was two cashiers, she was available and just starred at me. So i decided to walk around a little more since "no cashier" was available. A customer literally got rung up by the same employee who just started at me, right away. Like really? I was waiting and she just kept looking at me? So rude!!! But rings up another customer right away? Even when I was getting rung up, she just straight up had a RBF looking at me. I haven't been able to get my roots done in months due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and make a trip to Sally's! I walked in not knowing what I needed to bleach my roots icy platinum blonde! The woman who helped me was wonderful :) I wish I had gotten her name. She helped me pick out the perfect bleach, developer and toner and made sure I had everything I needed. Price was great! Only $38 for the whole lot of it. She even opened the door for me on my way out so I didn't need to touch the handle. I got home and did my roots after watching some how-to's on YouTube and it turned out just how I wanted it. 11/10 customer service Thank you so much! read more

My review is intended to the lady that works in this store. Went in and was greeted by an awesome guy with glasses. Showed amazing aloha even though he was already with a customer at the time of me entering. There was a lady in an aisle putting a few things on the shelf so I asked if she could direct me to where I can find the brushes and bowls for coloring to make my trip a quick in and out. She looked at me as if I was bothering her time and said "the end on the other side of that shelf" lmao just like that. I said "try again" then she tosses her fingers to point towards the back and says "back there you going see um" I laughed at her and responding with can you walk me there (it was her attitude that made me do it!) she said hold on and walked to the front did a few things and basically stalled her time to make it back to me. As I waited the guy that greeted me came around the corner and offered to assist me. Ventured to the other Sally in an effort to get a hair wand. Kaui helped me as soon as I walked in, and she was friendly and talked with me about all the products. She explained so much I had a hard time choosing the best wand. She also taught me how to use it and recommended a size wand for hair. So next time I need to get any hair products I know where to go. I've never been to a Sally's Beaty Supply store before. My little sister went to the one on Maui and was obsessed with their low prices on beauty products. I stepped in here and was taken aback by all their goodies. They sell a little bit of everything: Nail products, hair products, facial products, and supplies. It's was interesting. The lady who was working was really nice and was helpful in trying to find products. She sent us to the Hawaii Kai location because her store didn't have a particular item. My sister did say that the Kaneohe location had more "marked down" items than Hawaii Kai. So dangerous now that I know of these place :O read more

Before I get into my sad story that has a happy ending, Sally Beauty is located in the Windward City Shopping Center. It is right next to ROSS (on the right if facing ROSS). There is ample parking, but can get busy. The store is neat and organized. Sale items are usually in front, but sale prices are displayed in the aisles as well. Now onto my story. I went into Sally desperate! My green hair had to be toned down. As I wandered the aisles trying to figure out what I could do, Lexi approached me to ask if I needed help. I told her my situation & she brought me to the hair color aisle. As I stared at all the boxes, she suggested that we try and hide it. Wow! Why didn't I think of that? She tried to show me how I could bun my hair and use a large scrunchie. She had moved me in front of a mirror so I could see what she was doing. As she demonstrated, she needed to leave to help another customer. I looked up & found brown hairspray! Hurray! When Lexy came back, she completed the bun tutorial and showed me how the ponytail extensions could also cover my green hair. After thinking about the options she gave me, I decided on the brown hairspray. Lexi was so helpful and patient with me. She rang me up and asked if I was a member of their discount club. Exceptional customer service by Lexi. So sweet, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable on products. First time I've ever been in Sally's and it was a wonderful experience. Lexi even graciously stayed open a little late for me and didn't rush me or make me feel bad (i work in retail, and let me tell you, i am NOT always aunty aloha when someone comes in 10 mins to closing, which i did, so i apologized profusely since i felt like a giant okole hole). She even took my information down and offered to call me when a particular item was back in stock. Thats beyond exceptional customer service. I just started my classes for Makeup Artistry and hair styling in Honolulu and was given a list of things to get. Luckily this location was just a few min from my house. I always get really overwhelmed and lost in any type of beauty store so luckily the cashiers working today were nice enough to help me. I decided to give myself a home perm.. was assured by sales girl that end papers, gloves, instructions was in box.. they weren't so I went to return unopened product. ( inside box had writing but even with magnifier, you can't read it) ..anyway, I went return it and the girl told me I could not return it unless I give them my phone number.. I just don't do that..and I told her why, scam calls and so on.. she said she would not add me to their " list" ..I took that to mean I would get many calls.. she was quite un kind and demanding.. I also would not give my name..she had my purchase slip , why does she need anything else?? I was offended at her attitude, thinking she could shame me or humiliate me and not refund me.. fortunately another girl did the transaction.. I also said if that is their story policy, it needs to be stated on the door, or over the register, so a shopper knows that.. no where is that listed, I was ready to call the police I was so upset.. life is hard enough, why treat people like that..I will never go there again, for any thing, but this review is really just a warning.. if you buy it you can't return it unless your willing to be held hostage for phone number, name, email.. and then get tons of scam calls.. read more

Five stars for Tammy! Back in June my sister decided she wanted to color her hair red. When i say red, i mean candy apple red. We went in to Sallys with a list of products we needed based of off what we read online. Tammy greeted us with a warm, beautiful smile and asked what we were trying to accomplish. After explaining our goal and having her look at my sisters hair she knew right away that even though our original plan would work for the candy apple red hair, it would severely damage my sisters long, beautiful, barely touched hair. After following the steps and taking every bit of Tammys advice, I was proud to say that I was even more confident about doing hair and my sisters wish was granted. Her hair came out to be fiery bright red and it was still in great condition afterward. On friday I decided that I wanted to try and do a balayage with hopes of eventually doing a lavender balayage. Again, Tammy came to the rescue. She examined my hair, made a plan, gave my fiance advice (a mechanic doing hair, say what?!) To achieve the goal, and set us on our way. My hair came out great! Today I can say that I am probably one more step away from the lavender balayage I want. My hair seems to also be in better condution than it was! Tammy is sweet, honest, and VERY VERY knowledgable. She is the reason that I will visit Sallys again. As someone who doesnt have any professional knowledge of hair, I am now confident and have some knowledge because of her. read more

This is absolutely the best Sally's Beauty Supply Store, I've ever been to. The whole staff was amazing! They really know what they're talking about and were super helpful. The moment I walked into the store, they made me feel very comfortable about articulating my needs and treated me like they had always known me. This is what customer service is supposed to always be like and even though I live on the other side of the island, I'm going to go out of my way to come to this store every time I need something. They really spent quality time trying to help me with all of my beauty needs and were very upfront about what would and wouldn't help my hair.
