I will start by saying that I have been to many Sally Beauty Supply stores in at least three different states. I have visited this location a few times, since it's not too far from home and has ample parking. (It's way in the back of the Walmart parking lot.) I usually buy hair color, volumizer, and am out the door, but this time I needed to pick up a few more items than usual. When I entered the store, I was greeted by the sales lady who immediately asked if I needed help. I didn't, but it was nice of her to ask since I could see she was busy restocking. I knew I was walking into the store on the last day of a sale, so it's understandable that it was a little disorganized. They were out of my usual color, but I selected two very similar shades since they were on sale. I snagged the second to last Ion 20% volumizer bottle (Yes!) and a deep conditioning packet. I wanted to purchase a Clover foot file but didn't know where they were. The sales lady could see me looking around, so she asked again if I needed help. She showed me where the files were and they had the one I wanted. (Score!) Finally, I browsed the mascaras. I was looking for Col-Lab High Rise, and after a few minutes scanning the makeup display, I found it. (Whoo hoo!) The sales lady asked if I was ready to check out, and I was. As we walked to the register, she asked if I found everything I needed. I told her I had to make a small color substitution, but considering the big sale in a small store, I felt I made out like a bandit! It was late afternoon. I was the only customer in the store, and she was the only sales person. I knew she was tired, but she really made an effort to chat with me. I responded in kind and we had a little laugh before wishing each other a good evening. I was definitely a happy customer. I understand that this store is not in a great area. Yes, the store was a bit picked over and disorganized from the big sale. The sales lady didn't act like it was the happiest day of her life, but she was professional and personable. There are quite a few negative reviews for this place. I'm sure some are valid, but I also believe some are unwarranted. Sales people are like everyone else. Their attitude is often a reflection of the customer's attitude. A little patience and understanding can go a long way. Don't be afraid to visit this location. It's just as good as any other Sally Beauty Supply. They have frequent sales, and you should DEFINITELY buy the Beauty Club Card. It's only $5 and it saves you so much money, even if you only use it once or twice a year. Park away from the Walmart carts, and have fun shopping! read more

Three stars courtesy of getting what I paid for. However, the hassle and delay was hardly worth the wait. Have you ever been out on a sunny day running errands? It's the perfect time to exercise more patience and not rush from place to place. With the sun hitting my skin after long rainy days I was naturally more at ease. Considering this, I was still unimpressed by the service I received today at Sally's. Everyone should give an allowance to businesses struggling to remain open during these uncertain times. That's a given! With this in mind, I felt like Sally's at this particular location was disorganized, unprepared, and neglectful. When I arrived the store front was tattered with signs about no customer entry and curbside service only. I followed the instructions and called a few times. Had to overcome busy signal attempts. A Sally's employee came out at one point and claimed, "I will be right with you." There was no follow up. Eventually I placed my order by phone and it took more than 15 just to give my payment information. With loitering people outside it was very uncomfortable to verbally give my credit card information over the phone. After completing my order I informed the representative I was outside and waiting. Two passerby's commented on their 30/45 minute wait experience which helped me mentally prepare. I went to look in the store 20 minutes after placing my order. I found an employee eating her Sonic burger contently while I wait outside. So very awkward. She came out about 30 minutes after my call. Relieved to get what I paid for Instill didn't fully understand the wait time. I was the only customer outside. I blame COVID-19, they are not normally this slow. Either way I would recommended shipping over stopping by. I wore a mask and protective gear for safety but the wait wasn't worth the risk and time spent. read more

I've been to many Sally's stores and have always been treated with respect and helpfulness. This Sally's was different. I will never go back. The sales associate was nice. He tried to help me find what I needed but it was a closeout product and they were out of stock. That's fine. I thought I'd check while I was in the area. But then the manager barged into the store, away from her smoke break, she asked me what I wanted and I told her. She rudely told me we don't have it and it was obvious she did not think I belonged in "her" store. The sales associate stood with his mouth hanging open from her rudeness. This is called discrimination. Fine. I know when I'm not welcome. I won't go back. I hope the Sally's Company has figured out what they have as a manager. Hopefully that one is long gone. I would drive to Yakima Sally's before I would go in the store again. read more

I just had the most amazing experience at Sally's in Renton. Hannah helped me find everything that I needed and suggested so e others. Right from the get go she was welcoming and so nice. I have been shopping at Sally's for over thirty years from Alaska to California and let me tell you this amazing young lady should be training all of your employees on exceptional customer service. BTW, I tried to steal her for my store and she politely declined. So add "loyal" to her list of attributes. read more

I had a very good experience in this store today. Still looking for some X-Mas gifts for the kids, so I was checking out small items for their stockings: nail polishes and files, stuff like that. The gal behind the counter helped me out SO much. She was talking about concealers and, when I mentioned that I have a lot of redness on my cheeks, she recommended a mainstream cosmetic product that Bartell's and other pharmacies and stores carry - but that Sally's doesn't carry. I was so impressed that she wasn't pushing a product on me from the store. This gal was really knowlegeable about the store's products and other cosmetic issues. I wasn't expecting that - especially from someone so young. The location is lousy, and the store looks like a dive from the outside. I'm not surprised that they are constantly on the look-out for shoplifters; Walmart is right in the same parking lot, and there are plenty of ne'er-do-wells lurking about. I think I even saw a drug transaction in the parking lot. I'd totally understand if the store was wary about thefts and other criminal issues. This really isn't the best area. But the staff was great and the store has a large selection of product. Can't beat that! read more

So I went and bought some things from the store and the people there knew nothing about the type of piercing I should get that I wouldn't be allergic too. Long story short she sold me something I couldn't use I didn't open it and tried to return it 20 minutes later the manager is working saying she can't take things back because of covid they don't have a time frame on when you can return things and on top of the manager was just rude. "Hold your receipts I can't help you come back next year" I feel like they scam people out of no returns even if you do keep the receipt..... this place needs to be watched because they are running an illegal business. Everywhere else I've been looking for some jewelry I can return if I'm allergic or got the wrong thing. read more

Sally's always has the right stuff in stock when I need items. The employees at that store are always happy and professional.

My Sally's card had expired so I had to renew it so I could save on my bottle of acetone and future Sally purchases! $5 to renew and I already saved $1 on my purchase! If you don't have a Sally's card and you like buying beauty supplies, it's a MUST HAVE! You save so much money. Parking at this location is horrible because it shares a lot with Walmart, and the employees have never been that helpful so I just find what I need on my own. read more

I was pretty hesitate to go to this location but since it's the closest one to me, I had to deal with it if I wanted to dye my hair that night. It's located in the same parking lot as walmart by Renton Honda off Rainier Ave. I'm not too fond of this little shopping area myself even though there are a few places I frequent in the area. People are rude, drivers go fast and don't pay attention. This store seems smaller than most Sally's with less selection. I was a little frustrated but I did find what I needed. Funny thing, I felt like the lady that worked there was watching like a hawk thinking I was going to shoplift. Really? I didn't think I looked the type. Also, at first the cashier gave me a dirty look but I just brushed it off but then she smiled at me after giving me the total. Overall, I think I will still try to avoid this location. I go to this store because it's close to my house. I don't have any complaint on their selections or variety. But customer service could be a hit or miss depends on who helps you. On one occasion I go here and was looking for some gel-like-polish (the one you don't need UV light) and was helped by this lady (dark skin, black hair). She was informative and told me which brand was on sale and all that helpful info. but when I got to the cashier, the poor girl was new and she couldn't ring me up sooo she had to went down the isle and asked someone to come help me (2 other girls were standing there chatting, doing nothing). They should have been at the front knowing that the new girl cannot ring up customers (not like they were busy doing inventory). And when the cashier got to the cash register, she turned to the new employee and said, "Oh, why didn't you told me there were people waiting?". Very unprofessional on her part towards the customers and the new employee. Do go here for your beauty supply need but don't expect a 5-star customer service. read more

Today I had well experience with Sally staff although supplies or for example introductory kit for nails original box were opened loge before it got into shelf for selling and some of the supplies originally that supposed to be there in the box are gone, if reading supplies that on the box at least 1-2 things missing. I agree with the reviewers too. This asian girl with long hair is pretty darn rude. The first time I went, she was at the counter so I asked for help and she totally gave me the attitude. Damn girl, what did I do to YOU? I was well aware that they were closing in less than 10 mins and that's why I needed help so they can close the store and I can get the F outta there. I guess the other girl noticed her co-worker's attitude so she actually came up to helped me - thank you! I went there for a second time with the hubby and again, the SAME girl was there. We were at the back and I heard someone walking so I peeked and the same girl was on her way towards us. I asked her if she could help me and this is what she said: "I'm about to go for my lunch break...what do you need help for?" I swear I heard her sigh with the annoyed tone in her voice. I'm not exaggerating. She obviously did not want to help me so I said never mind and she was already entering the back door. ARGH! I needed shampoo last week and first went to the Burien Store and couldn't get help finding the product I wanted and the store was unorganized and near disaster for a store and the people were just not interested in helping. So, I called and ended up going to this Renton Store. In contrast, the Renton Store is amazing! They literally saved my lashes. I called an hour before going to the store to see if they had what I needed and the lady that answered actually held the item at the register without me even asking. Sally's is a convenient place for me to pick up all my hair and nail products. I read through all the reviews, but noticed the low reviews were from some time ago. That said the people there now were extremely friendly and very helpful. I had no trouble parking on a Saturday morning nor was there any problem driving in front on the Wal-mart to leave. read more

This is the worst Sally's I been to!!!! Worse customer service almost every time I want to ask for help I tend to get disappointed. For example today I went in for some bleach couldn't find it. I asked the lady that was on her phone behind the counter sitting down. She said "is on the same isle your looking at on the left" she didn't bother to look up from her phone!!!! Really lady!! Are they paying you to be on your phone if your on break then just go to the back because your attitude ruins this store! This is a great place to go get excellent beauty products. I usually get non-strip waxes and hair products. The staff is generally very knowledgeable and can help find what you need. Most things are reasonably priced, and a few times a year there's a sale where things are just incredibly cheap! read more

Clearly the customer service can't be that great. Drove around for 30 min trying to find this place and got there 15 min before they closed to literally go in and grab one thing and the doors were locked while the open sign was still on and I could see the girl in the back on her phone as she refused to open the door. I called the store twice and listened to the phone ring and ring as she still refused to answer the phone or come out from the back. They are lucky I don't live in the area because the manager definitely would have heard from me the next day. Ridiculous and beyond rude. I hope they fire her because she clearly doesn't care about her job or the well being of the store. Pity. read more

Lemme just start out by saying that my experience at working at Sally's has been a complete roller coaster. my first manager star, was a complete angel that girl held it down from the get! Professional, loyal, everyone and their mother knew and loved her. Still to this day one of the best management I've ever had. She was with Sally's for a long time and parted with ways with the company. Which is completely fine, life happens! now as for the next manager, I do want to apologize. because I am the one who got her hired but not as a manager though. my co worker at the time, Nicki had applied for the management, position with years of experience. Completed cosmetology school, knowledge of hair and products, owned her own salon is loved and known around the community. But yet they gave the manager position to a 20 year old that had one prior job. A deli. Everyday I worked with "the new manager" I was left alone every shift alone for multiple hours. Even during rush hour on a Friday night. Either she'd sit in the back with her feet kicked up while I had a line or she'd "go to the bank" (WHICH IS A 60 SECOND DRIVE) and she'd decided to just drive around Seattle. She was almost always on her phone and got multiple complaints about her every week. She is by far the laziest management I've ever worked worth in my life. the store has fallen apart sense her four months of being a manager and all of you deserve to know why. Luckily sense I have left the store is under new management and they've been doing really good for themselves. now if you'd ever like a GOOD experience at this store I highly recommend asking for Bri or Nicki. I am blessed to have worked with these hard working ladies and they truly know their stuff. :) read more

My reviews for places like these typically center around what they have in stock and how their customer service is. I can always find what I'm looking for when I shop here, but the customer service is a joke. I've never NOT had to wait. The last time I was in the store, there were two women working, but only one was actually working while the other was ignoring customers. The woman who was at the register was allowing the customer she was ringing up to halt their transaction to go and find more stuff. Meanwhile a line is forming. We all have what we came for but for some reason, for more than ten minutes this went on. Finally the second employee huffed and sighed her way to the second register and waited on customers as if it were a burden to her. Lots of eye rolling rude talk. I don't know why this place has such a low rating. It's honestly in the very worst strip mall in America and so visually I get why people may find it to be gross but the employees do their very best to keep the location clean and orderly. Whenever I go in the girls that work here have been so nice. I am always greeted and then asked if I need help finding anything! Today, I went in for two tubes of Wella color for a quick color retouch and the women behind the counter was so polite and took my cash. In the end of the transaction after locating my Sally's membership she clearly just had her nails done so I told her to forget giving me my change ($.60 was all) and I told her to forget it and I was in a hurry! They were so sweet about it and so giggly when I told them I didn't need it. I just want to say thanks to the staff here and hope they can get a remodel or relocation soon. It's also sad to see how much of their inventory has to be kept behind the counter because of all the thieves that hit their location! Needless to say this may be my favorite Sally's location!!! I popped in Sunday February 26th 2017 afternoon about four, to look for a French twist hair clip. Not sure where they were, I asked the lady behind the counter for assistance. She pointed and said, "they should be over in the back corner." I went to the area and could not find them. I went back up to her and said, " back in that corner?" She again just pointed, and not leaving her perch on the stool, and only stopped talking to a male customer that she obviously knew by the long conversation they were having, to waved her hand and again said, "yeah they should be back there." Again I went back and looked but could not find them. I walked back up to her a third time and waited for her to stop her conversation, which she never did until the man said to her, " I think she needs to buy something." I said no, I'm just still looking for those clips. The woman said, still without getting out of her seat, " I guess we don't have any." I have been to many other Sally stores and have never had this type of service! The people that work at these stores are usually very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable on their products. This was the first time I had been in this particular store and will NEVER go back and will recommend to my friends that they never go to this store again! read more

This (unfortunately) was the closest Sally's to me before we moved.I have had some rude sales personal in prior visits,but what happened this Dec. was truly the last straw. I'm an licensed hairdresser and often buy my hair color products here because of their professional discount. I was deep in thought over a new product I considered buying when a tall black lady came through the door and grunted in a low voice,"Hi". Unaware she was talking to me,I thought she was a customer as I only glanced at her and didn't remember seeing any name tag.I presumed she was talking to the sales girl who was not at the counter. I proceeded to the counter to ask a question and she was now behind the counter. I said to her "Hi, oh,were you talking to me?She said" yeah"as she shook her head in disgust.I explained I was concentrating on this color and not paying attention.She looked at me like" yeh right lady"and rudely said" who else would I be talking to?" I said I didn't know you worked here,I thought you were a customer and to that she said "even if I was a customer,you don't speak to me?" She was so angry she could barely stand to answer my question. She went to the back and I checked out with the other sales girl. I did ask if she was the manager as I couldn't believe anybody would treat a customer in this manner.She truly needs a job out of customer service. As for for me I will go out of my way to buy from any other Sally's. I only hope the manager takes time to read all of the reviews about his store. read more
