The staff member seemed to have very limited product and color knowledge, which resulted in a recommendation for both an incorrect color and product type. This led to a very poor initial result. Consultation 2 (Excellent): The second consultation was fantastic. This individual was highly knowledgeable, engaging in a detailed and helpful conversation about hues, and clearly outlining the benefits of different product types. I left this consultation feeling very confident in the recommended color choice, which was based on my preference for a dark shade. Consultation 3 (Lacks Assurance): The third staff member was extremely wishy-washy. I had very little confidence in her knowledge, as she constantly undermined her advice by ending nearly every phrase with, "but there is no guarantee." She also negated my prior research (e.g., on measuring vs. weighing ingredients) and offered unhelpful advice, such as telling me to "just try it out, if you don't like it, you can change the recipe." For a professional service, this lack of assurance and suggestion to "experiment" with a formula is concerning. Product Quality and Recommendation Process: While I understand the staff member in the second consultation did not manufacture the products, I want to note that two of the items she recommended were disappointing: Mitchel Cream Curl: This product appeared to be improperly mixed and contained waxy bits. Canadian Shampoo and Conditioner: This item became moldy. The last 'consultant' asked if i kept them in the shower. No - I kept them on the shelf next to the rice and flour in the pantry (eye roll). Furthermore, the third staff member's approach to shampoo/conditioner recommendations was unhelpful, essentially just walking me down the product aisle, which I could have done on my own. I would expect a more curated and informed recommendation based on my hair type and color treatment. I am trying the new color from my most recent visit and hope for a better result than the first time. I look forward to returning and hope to be paired with a consultant who embodies the competence and helpfulness of the second person I dealt with.

I havent done my hair here so I'm only reviewing the service and product I just came to purchase. The Lady behind the counter was super sweet and helpful ! She guided me through the store to get me the best shampoo in their store . There was so many different products but she suggested to try the redken Purple shampoo for my needs.. she explained how and how long I need to use it on my hair for maximum effect. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. The prices were great and everything is tax included so that's Sweet! 24$ for a huge professional shampoo bottle Quite the deal I hope it works! As…read moreit happened, all hairdressers in our home town were closed for the day, so I decided to get a trim (to remove dead ends) at this establishment. After the trim I was billed $67.00. I meekly paid as I didn't want to make a scene and made to leave. Upon reconsideration I decided it wasn't right that I was getting charged this outrageous sum and decided to ask for a reimbursement and recharge for the advertised amount. ($27.00) That did not bode with the staff as they proceeded to refuse any negotiations on the price. After realizing that I was powerless to amend this small fortune of a trim I then decided to leave a distasteful review of the establishment. As my boyfriend began to take photos of the establishment the staff members came out aggressively and one man (presumably the manager) assaulted my boyfriend, grabbing his neck, twisting his arm behind his back, and attempting to destroy his phone. After calling the police the staff members collectively said that my boyfriend provoked the situation and commenced the assault (they alleged he shoved the man). Given there were a lack of cameras and only 1 independent witness (against their 5 or so staff members) and our limited budget (We're students) we couldn't afford to press charges against this man. Effectively we were ripped off by this establishment, and this man got away without consequences for his actions. Please do not sponsor this kind of business practices.

We came to Mini Snaps to give my Son his first hair cut. We love Woohoo, so having this in the…read moresame building was very convenient. The staff was incredibly nice. They understood that I was emotional over it being his first hair cut. My Son cried and was scared, but they did their best to keep him calm. They have the kids sit in seats that look like cars, and each station has a screen so the kids can watch a movie while their hair gets cut. Moana was on, which was great since we all love it. Once the cut was done, we got to save some of his hair on a certificate in honour of his first cut. While we waited for his older brother to finish his turn, my toddler played in the waiting area that was full of toys and a slide. It was great. I did find it to be a bit expensive but they also give you a loyalty card. We will probably return for future hair cuts here and there. My fellow Mom friends told me later on that they also love going here for their kids, and it will also be featured on part of an episode of a reality show on a Montreal francophone station. Pretty neat!

When we got there, owner was with someone else, & my daughter was passed off to another hairdresser (big lady) who was rude and extremely rough with my daughter's hair. To me, she didn't seem to have the temperament needed to deal with kids. After bringing my daughter to tears & making me quite agitated after 15 min. being rough - I told her to stop & insisted that the owner finish her hair. We waited over half hour. At least the owner made it up to my daughter by being decent & kind to her and did a good job on her hair. However this place also 'waffled' on their prices. When I called, I asked how much it would be - I was told one price for the haircut on the phone, when we got there we were told $20 because of my daughters length-ok, only at the end they charged me 38$ because of all the oils they put in my daughter's hair - without asking me or telling me that there would be extra fees. Given what happened, I'm not going back. Maybe the hairdresser was frustrated, the appointment was at the end of the day - whatever the case, no child should be treated that way. She did a wonderful Brazilian, by far one of the least painful I have EVER had! And believe me that says a lot as I am a Toronto native and our standards for Brazilians are very high. She did an impeccable job, very accurate and, of course, she never double dips in her wax. I loved how professional, quick and friendly she was. I also had my eyebrows done at the same time, which of course she did a fabulous job of. I like my brows natural and she did them perfectly. Plus I have a low pain tolerance when it comes to plucking and usually tear up, amazingly she was so gentle I could have fallen asleep!! The spa itself has a gorgeous homey atmosphere. Very clean and warm! We were immediately greeted and offered the usual coffee/tea/water. We were then were led upstairs to two comfy chairs to await our appointment, which we did not wait long for. Now for the real kicker: PERFECT PRICE! If you're looking for the right place on the west island for any of your waxing needs, Manon is certainly it.

Alena cane to our rescue after my partner got a botched haircut at a local barber. He is balding…read moredown the middle - friar tuck style - and so managing the gap is not an easy feat for a hairdresser. The local barber gave him a combover which has never been his look and he was completely distraught by it. A quick trip to Alena and she shortened the feathery top to remove the combover, and shortened the sides to give him the appearance of more hair. I was impressed by her skill and strategy: she understands how to work with a hair challenge instead of awkwardly covering it up. She knows mens' haircuts and really should have been our first stop. So glad she was there to help: my partner left looking great and also so relieved that he has been "saved" by her skills!
