Getting my permanent eyeliner done by Marcia is one of the worst things I've ever done…read more I had a coupon for 50% off permanent eyeliner at another place, but my husband said not to go to the cheaper place. Marcia's reviews seemed great! Except that Nicole A with the glowing review is her daughter (whom Marcia tattooed at age 12), and others are friends of hers, as I found out later. When I arrived for my appointment, I noticed her space was very dark and cluttered, but she had good reviews, so I tried not to let that bother me. I showed her several pictures of the style eyeliner I wanted... very thin line on the bottom, medium line on top with well-defined, dainty wings with a sharp point at the edge. She kept showing me pictures of her daughter's eyeliner and kept telling me how beautiful her daughter is, and I told her several times it wasn't what I was looking for. She didn't want to draw on my eyelids what I wanted, but I let her do it because she was "experienced" and had such good reviews. I was DEVASTATED when she handed me the mirror to look when she was done. I had very thick, uneven lines on the bottoms, and a very thin line on the top with rounded blobs on my eyelids instead of well-defined wings. I asked for a VERY THIN line on the bottom and a medium line on top, showed her several pictures beforehand, and even reiterated what I wanted several times. At the first touch up, I showed her the issues and she assured me the touch-up would make it look much better. I told her not to accentuate the wings, I was hoping they'd fade away. She went over them again anyway, even made the blobs a little bigger and she told me she made them look better. I'm not sure if she doesn't listen, or thinks she knows what her clients want better than they do themselves. I absolutely hate looking in the mirror now. This was supposed to increase my self-esteem and give me more confidence in my looks, save me time on applying makeup, but the exact opposite is what happened. This is what I've got: The line on one upper eyelid starts out thicker on the inside, then abruptly stops and becomes paper-thin for the length of my lid. The other upper eyelid is smooth all the way across, but so thin, and I still have the horrible blobs on my eyelids instead of those elegant wings I wanted off to the side. The eyeliner on one lower eyelid is rounder and thicker and doesn't meet my lash line, and the other lower eyelid is more straight across, follows my lash line, and is much thinner. I look like I let my 72-year-old mother-in-law apply my eyeliner without her glasses on, with an old kohl eyeliner crayon, in the dark. Yes, it's that bad, and I have to look at myself like this every single day.

Upon, arriving we were greeted with a friendly face - A sweet older dog named Nemo. My friend went off for her massage and Paula (the owner) led me to a peaceful room for a hydrating facial. Paula has been in the industry for 15 years, and gave a very soothing facial and massage. Afterwards, I was led to a back room that is about the size of a hotel bathroom and not well ventilated. There I placed my feet in what I originally thought was a slow cooker (but really it was a small foot bath). I was told the original chair (in her picture) was not moved to this location because they would have to tear up flooring to install it. She was very sanitary and made sure to use clean supplies. She will even explain how she cleans everything in case you need reassurance. As for the pedicure, she filed the toenails and scraped underneath them with what felt like a small knife. She gave good polish recommendations and carefully applied to the nails. She was great with putting on flip flops and making sure my toes didn't smudge. As for the manicure, same process for toenails except I dipped my hands in warm bowl of scented water. The pain points for me: she charged us for "classic pedicure" which should have included a foot massage. Instead, she put on a scented mask and then placed my feet in the bath. As for the manicure, she put on some "quick dry spray" that did not work. My nails were smudged and chipped within 30 minutes of leaving. Additionally, she did not touch my cuticles.
