I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because the ladies that work there are super nice and the place is cute but my pedicure was lack luster. I'm a FT camper so my toes have been neglected for a few months and my heals were dry. They weren't horrible but they weren't how my feet normally are. Anyway, the girl who did my pedi didn't even clean the dirt from under or around my nails. Also, my feet are still pretty rough around the heels unlike when I get my feet done at home. Now that it's been about two days the polish on my toes is also starting to chip. Considering this was a splurge at $50 I'm highly disappointed as I could have done a better job myself. Oh and good luck getting them on the phone! I called for two days straight multiple times and left two messages without a return call. Finally got someone to answer when I called again. If I didn't need a pedi I would have waited and gone somewhere else. read more

My second visit to Salon Envy was two days prior to the wedding so my nails could get done. I'm not into nails, but I was afraid the photographer might capture closeups of my hands. The owner Donna took care of me and followed my request to make them look simple, natural, and pretty. On the actual big day, Donna pulled off some of her magic in only 1.5 hours and made my hair and makeup look even better than at trial! Again, if she wasn't happy with something as she worked, the perfectionist in her re-did it. Our ceremony was outdoors, so it was important that my hair stay in place... well, it did and then some. Not one strand from my updo moved even though we were in open-air Jeeps! Best hairdo I've ever had! Price is extremely reasonable and I ended up paying less than expected. My go to place for manicure and pedicure when in town. I always make an appointment. They always have several people receiving services when I am in there. I love that they use Butter polishes which have fewer chemicals. The polish takes a bit more time to dry but holds up well. The salon is decorated nicely and is very clean. read more

I was in town visiting and made an appointment with Libby for highlights, lowlights, and a trim. Libby was extremely professional and knew what she was doing when it came to color. I went so I could get my hair colored. I think I saw a white hair so it's time to begin doing this regularly. Salon Envy was very clean and Libby ended up being my hairdresser. I'm very happy with my look and I'm kicking myself for not doing this sooner. It is so nice to have this salon in Ouray. I visit Ouray often and in the past had to travel to Montrose for manicures and pedicures. No more! The salon is beautifully decorated and the owner & staff are super friendly. Just be sure to call in advance and book early as they are often booed for day. I cannot recommend Salon Envy enough. Next time you visit Ouray, be sure to make time for a little pampering. Also, don't worry about wearing your boots for a pedicure. They use Vinylux polish which dries within 10 minutes. So the sign outside says "walk-ins welcome" but apparently they aren't. Went there to get a manicure, but apparently the one customer in there was too much for them to put polish on my fingertips. So much for small town hospitality. The woman who checked their "schedule" asked me to come back in 2 hours or the next day. Guess their sole customer was keeping them busy. I had the pleasure of stopping in this salon last week, and I absolutely adore this place! It's so cute. Very laid back and comfortable, and the girls there really make you feel at home. Libby was happy to take me as a walk-in. I'm not good with hair, so I've had issues in the past, but Libby listened and made me feel at ease. The salon itself is adorable! The people are very nice! Including the sweet girl who did my hair. HOWEVER, I showed her a picture of what I wanted & I got EXACTLY the opposite. I felt like she didn't even listen to me explain what I wanted. All she heard is what I said I always USED to be which was platinum blonde! What I wanted & have been working towards for almost a year is now completely GONE! I wanted my natural hair color with a few blonde highlights. A bit of an ombre effect. I was almost there! Now I have to start back at square ONE with a completely bleached head of hair. WHITE. I'm so discouraged. My hair cut wasn't even straight. I asked for 2" off & got about 4 crooked inches off instead. I tried to be positive & like it & make it work since, hey! I'd been blonde my whole life, right?! 2 or 3 weeks went by & I couldn't take it anymore. My roots look BLACK in comparison to the white, I have really really strange & VERY noticeable spots & stripes of bleach in various places on my head which is completely embarrassing. Not to mention my hair was finally healthy & now its fried & feels like straw. Even after hair masks, coconut oil, & a high end healing shampoo & conditioner every THREE days! I am NEVER one to complain but this is AWFUL! I paid $162 to get everything I never wanted & has set me back in almost a year's worth of progress to go from basically an 11 blonde to my natural 7 blonde. When I called the manager to ask for a refund since I HAVE to go somewhere else to get my hair fixed before going to a family emergency in a few days I was told "i'm sorry. There's nothing I can do for you. Our policy is that we can refund you within one week. No exceptions." So....when would i have EVER heard that to know I only had a week?? EVERY SINGLE OTHER salon I've EVER been to will work with you. I've gone in to get color fixed once or twice & it had been 2-3 weeks after my initial appointment. The manager told me I'd have to pay for a new service to come get it fixed there! I'm being punished for trying to be positive & make it work but I took too long??? Like all blondes I've been to MANY salons in the last 17 years!! In San Francisco, London, Utah, Colorado, Hawaii & This was the WORST place I've ever been to as far as customer service & getting what I wanted & asked for. & PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR! I am furious!
