I've been getting my hair cut at Rainbow Room salons since about 2005, though. I moved away in 2016, but Meg is still there and I still stop in whenever I'm in Glasgow because she just knows how to work with my hair better than anyone else. The salon has been remodeled recently and it looks fantastic. It's really modern, super bright, and they've made great use of the space. You still get a great view of George Square, too. The stylists seem to enjoy how functional it all is. Now that they have reopened they've continued to have strict protocols - minimising contact, spacing out appointments, and requiring masks. So much has changed, and so little. They still take the time to sit down and get to know their clients, consult on what they're looking for, and include some little luxury extras like a head massage before they wash your hair. They use good products and tools. My hair always looks and feels great once Meg is done with it. She also takes into account how it will grow out. Honestly, I usually leave thinking it's a bit short, but then 2-4 weeks later it sits exactly how I had hoped. With other hairdressers I often find I have split ends after a few weeks, but my most recent cut still looks great 6 weeks on and I'm still getting compliments on it. If you're looking for a hair salon in Glasgow, look no further.

I booked an appointment for the following day with Gill. Aside from Gill's pleasant personality, she also knows what you mean when you say, "I want a trim." She doesn't go hack off 5inches of your hair! She actually takes off the minimal amount to even out the cut and make it look healthy again, while still maintaining the length. Gill is also a color master! I wish I could part and wield my hair the way she did! She zapped all my greys and made sure my color looked like my natural dark color and not some gothic chic. Conveniently a few steps from work, great service, and reasonable prices means I will be back for sure!

It's a sleek, cool, laidback salon with young staff, and they're on the ball when it comes to hair trends. You can tell when entering the salon that it's got a good standard, with lots of high quality styling products and equipment on display. The girl who cut my hair was super friendly and gave me good advice about my 'do. I went in a bit indecisive and wanted to chop it all off but she persuaded me that we could do it gradually and start experimenting over time in case I rashly went for the massive chop and was disappointed with the result. She was experienced in giving me my cut, good with curly hair, and since I went in with about ten different cuts I wanted to try, she helped me reach a compromise. The cut was trendy, cool, a bit different and has received lots of compliments! She also offered to help me trim it at an extremely low cost if I returned in a couple of weeks and didn't like it. I haven't needed to go back since I love it, it's really easy to manage, but will return soon and might get more adventurous next time! It's quite hard to review hair places without going "I pure LOVE my hair these days" but I do love it(!) and am going back next time which speaks for itself!

Gavin, what can I say - you were a joy !!! Nothing was any bother and you listened to me and FULLY explained what you were going to do and why - and then asked if I was happy with that. Gavin has a great personality and definitely is a people person. An asset to this salon. I would definitely book in again. You kept me entertained with your chat and wit and I felt that I had known you for ages. I just love my hair....the style is just what I wanted and time was taken to explain how to blow dry it and what products to use to get the best result at home. All in all a deserved 5 stars. This salon is worth a visit and a booking with Gavin will leave you uplifted with gorgeous hair. Thanks to everyone at the Salon today. They have an amazing selection of brands such as Fudge, Tigi and Bed Head. I found about ten products that I HAD TO HAVE, and I was only in there for a couple of minutes. Sadly, I had to resist the urge to buy ten different curl serums, as this place is anything but cheap. Hair products start around £10 each, and as lovely as they are, I couldn't quite bring myself to part with the money. Behind the shop part of Trade Secret is the hair salon. There were a couple of customers in there as I was having a wander, and they all seemed to be getting on wonderfully with the hair stylists and having a great time. I really felt that this place had a good atmosphere. So yes, a little bit pricey, but if you've got the money then I suggest that you give this place a go.

A full head colour and cut and blow dry cost £57. The thing that some other salons do that really annoy me, is they will charge you extra for having your hair blow dried after a colour. A blow dry, at least, should ALWAYS be included in the price. I'll be a regular customer at sasscia from now on and I'll probably try the beauty aspect too.

I had highlights done only to get home and and see that…read moreI still had over an inch of regrowth all through one half of my head, the half that the junior stylist Holly had done. My hair was completely unsightly, I went back to allow them to correct it, but before they did so the manager tried to argue that that's "how highlights should be"... After showing her the huge dark patches it was corrected. When it had originally been done apart from the junior doing half of my colour the junior also attempted my blow dry, It was an absolute mess, I offered to straighten the fringe part for her and she gave me the brush to do so, (To be honest when paying full price the whole process should be carried out by the person that you have booked your appointment with). There was no mention of this being a problem by the owner Irene and to be honest she should have been embarrassed that my hair was such a mess I was having to fix it myself. After my colour had been corrected I decided I had lost faith in them doing the colour and it still wasn't right so I had to dye it back to dark to hide the big patches that had been missed. Even after all this I was willing to let Barbara cut my hair as she is very good, but when i phoned to book the appointment the owner Irene decided to tell me that I wasn't to go back as they didn't feel comfortable doing my hair and falsely accusing me of pulling the hairbrush from the junior Holly, even though I had asked her if she wanted me to fix it myself and she said yes......I feel That Irene and Holly should be completely ashamed of themselves a) for the false allegations of pulling the brush from her hand and b) for allowing this junior Holly who obviously cannot colour or blow dry to make a mess of a clients hair...... I have lots of photographs of the mess my hair was in and am happy to post them.... I would also like to point out that the allegations of pulling the brush have only been mentioned to me since I had to return because of the mess that was made of my colour. I have never given any salon a bad review but the customer being right does not apply to this salon, Irene has a lot to learn regarding customer service... Again I can back up the mess of my hair with photographs I have taken. I should mention that I had used this salon for 6 years before Holly got her hands on my hair and told lies about me pulling the brush from her hand. There are better places in Kirkintilloch to go and thankfully I found that my original stylist Shannon ( who is AMAZING is working at another salon in Kirkintilloch so I shall be going there from now on!!!!
