I found Salon La Sirena just by chance, about ten years ago. After eating at a pizza restaurant in Haleiwa HI, I went for a walk. I saw a really cute shop, peeked in and met Gina. She immediately became a great friend, life coach of sorts, and my best cut and colorist ever! She corrected my highlights and gave me a knockout cut after analyzing my facial bone structure. When I went to work the next day, everybody complimented my new cut! Out with the old and in with the new! My highlights & lowlights were excellent and the cut made me look ten years younger! Best haircut EVER! I booked my appointment on the day of, there were no openings but as I was desperate, Cali agreed to stay late and help me out. Cali did an AMAZING job! I am in the sunshine and ocean a lot, so my hair was pretty tangly and damaged but Cali knew exactly what to do. She cleaned up all the dead bits and I was still able to keep my length. SO pleased! I started coming to this salon the past 6 months on request by friends who have had their eyelashes done by Vanessa Li. Vanessa must be thee most patient person I have ever met. I've never been a pamperer of self, but once I had my eyelash extensions done by Vanessa the first time, I was hooked. I never realized that eyelashes would and could make a difference to my face. I use to have baby eyelashes that was hardly noticeable, but thanks to Vanessa, I can now bat my eyelashes at my husband. Lol Vanessa also did my wedding hair and make-up. She had me come in for a trial, a week before the time, she also suggested a few hairstyles, which I loved. My makeup was subtle, but cute. I moved to the island back in August and put off getting my hair cut and colored because it's hard to pick a new stylist and trust they'll do a fantastic job. I'm sure most of us have had bad experiences with a new stylist and a bad cut and color lasts a lifetime it seems. I found Gina's ad in the North Shore News Letter and since it had the bonus of being 2 miles from my house I decided to give it a go. I have long, thick hair and stylists tend to want to excessively layer and texturize it which I'm not very keen on. After sharing with Gina a few of my likes/dislikes and color preference she whipped up some color and got down to business. It came out perfect! I usually just get my roots touched up and with past stylists I ended up leaving with a distinct color difference between roots and the rest of my hair. But Gina got it just right and my color turned out amazing and my roots blended perfectly. Plus she doesn't use color with harsh chemicals. The cut was amazing as well. She did some layering and trimming of my ends and it definitely looked revitalized. I left Salon La Sirena feeling better than I have about myself in a long time. Amazing what a good cut and color can do for the self-esteem! I've been seeing her regularly since then and I am never disappointed. When I first decided to try and highlight my hair again I thought to myself "Why? It always turns out good the first time and touch-ups are always a disaster." But I wanted to be pampered and thought what the heck. When I arrived at Salon La Sirena I was pleasantly surprised by the decor.
