She takes her time to listen to what I want for my hair, and gives great advice when I ask for it. Most importantly, she has an ability to take into account that my hairdo need to work for my lifestyle and how much time I can spend on my hair. Every time I've been there I have walked out feeling beautiful. Also worth mentioning, every time I've been there everyone has been lovely, and I have received an amazing head massage when they washed my hair. As Violet mentioned below, it feels like going into a hair spa. Noir also has their own line of hair products. They have never pushed a product I didn't need, but the one I did buy I have been very happy with.

Her expertise and professionalism was wonderful! Highly recommend you book with her. When entering the salon you feel like you are going into a hair spa. Not to mention NOIR has its own line f hair products that smell and feel amazing! The chairs you sit in while you get your hair washed have a massage timer and you also receive a hair mask and complimentary massage along with it. Pure bliss! The feel of the salon reminds me of being back home in SoHo, NYC simple and edgy. All the staff look up to trend and passionate about what they do! I'm excited to go back again! Go NOIR!

Offers online booking which is a great service but unfortunately not so common in Stockholm. The relationship that a man develops with his barber is not in vain. The relationship is intimate…read more As a kid, you grow up with the same guy cutting your hair for 15 years. As an adult, your barber becomes your eyes and ears to the world, sharing his knowledge of current affairs, politics, women, the local neighborhood's gossip (yesmen can gossip sometimes). Your barber is far more than the guy who cuts your hair. He's your friend. Your confidante. These barbers know how to cut your hair, they've seen it change. They've seen it grow curlier, more abundant, grayer, less abundant. They adapt to changes in style and fashion, but they never cease to give you a bad haircut. Changing barbers is a tough choice for a number of reasons. When you do it out of choice, you feel disloyal. When you do it out of obligation, you feel anxious and afraid. I haven't lived in the same city for more than 5 years in the last 15. So I forgot what it's like to have a good barber anymore. One that I can trust. So I hadn't gotten my hair cut in over a month which, if you know me, is an extremely long time. My hair grows extremely fast and it fros out. Which is NOT in anymore. Especially when your hair looks like mine. Talked to some coworkers. No one had any firm suggestions. They pointed me to a street and told me to find one there. Instantly knowing Stockholm, its fashion and its prices, I feared the worst. I knew I was going to get a shit haircut and pay $100 for it. Then I spotted Salong Andreas. It was not a salon, but a barber. I walked in ten minutes before it closed. A gentleman came out from behind a curtain. Good-looking guy and well-kempt (knows good fashion), darker skin, thicker hair, probably Middle-Eastern (knows my hair), and the sign read 210kr ($35). Couldn't believe it. It almost seemed too good to be true. But he didn't cut my hair yet. So he talks to me about my hair. Asks me how I want it. As I start talking, he nods. Then he proceeded to complete my sentences exactly as I would've. He knew exactly what I wanted. And unlike my barbers from the last 15 years, didn't give me that completely clueless, stumped look that I've come to expect. I was putting my life in this guy's hands, and I didn't doubt it for a second. Ephram (his name) gave me the best haircut I've had in two decades. He did it with style and finesse. He was a master of his trade. He used scissors like my childhood barber from Italy did. He was fast and he made it look effortless. He asked me how it was as he was going through, and he was one of the best conversationalists I've known. We talked about our heritage, Sweden, the US, Arabs, 9/11, Christians (he's a Lebanese-Christian and I'm an Egyptian-Christian), Swedish women, cost of living, etc. etc. etc. I could actually see going out and grabbing beers with this guy as totally normal and fun. When it came time to pay, I realized I didn't have enough. He told me not to sweat it, pointed me to the nearest ATM, I ran down, grabbed my cash, came back, paid, and told him that he was my new barber and that he could expect to see me every three to four weeks. Thanks Ephram! You rock!

MY HAIR IS PURPLE, ORANGE AND SPOTTED!!! This is long, but…read moreif you read it you will save yourself a lot of trouble: There's a reason this place is on Groupon ALL the time... It's not good. The colorist/owner of this place was more interested in walking away in the middle of my coloring to talk to others and chat on the phone than doing my hair. Which, as you can guess, ended up in sloppy highlights with some of them being over developed. They are so bad and far apart that you can still see the line where the old ones had grown out to VERY clearly. He took about 1/3 the time it usually takes to get them done properly. The whole time he was combing or brushing he didn't care and just ripped and tore at it roughly causing a ton of breakage! He was bossy and rude to his own employees in front of me. He even made one girl just stand there to hold a piece of my hair up in the air for him instead of just clipping it out of the way! That was a new one. I had asked for a full head of highlights (slingor), which he just decided on his own not to do without consulting me. Even when I asked him to finish he refused and said that "I did not need them" despite my protests. Which I really did! They are really grown out underneath and he never even bothered to look. He also proceeded to put my light ash blonde hair in bleach slingor (foils) under a heat lamp. I asked him not to because increasing the processing speed increases the breakage (any great salon will tell you that) and he got annoyed and said "you'll be here forever!". This lets me know that this salon is incredibly dated and only interested in getting people out the door over doing quality hair. For the past ten years I have very frequently asked for a full head of blonde highlights and a blue or purple toner to lift and make all of my color more of a white blonde. If your a cool colored blonde you know what I'm talking about! Since he did not highlight my full head and the highlights were over processed in some areas the purple toner stuck to the overdone parts and the rest of my hair was left an aged yellowy orange. So basically I have orange and purple hair!!! This horrible little diva of a man wouldn't fix it and said that if i had listened to him and not gotten the toner this would not have happened. Then he proceeded to tell me that he could do nothing to fix me. Somehow I can ask for this same treatment at two great salons in Stockholm (WIG and Sachajuan) and they have always done a beautiful job. But, all of a sudden, what I always get is impossible to do and I'm to blame that he ruined my hair?! Very, very strange!!! What I also find incredibly upsetting is that he reprimanded and mocked me in front of everyone there. He treated me like I was absolutely worthless. I actually got teary eyed because he was so rude when I tried to speak up. He even sneered at me with a big grin like he thought it was funny! I felt really bullied. I really think this guy has a personality disorder. Not the relaxing enjoyable experience I was hoping for, in other words. In summary, This was the worst experience I've ever had at a salon! (and I've been to everything from a walk-in at the mall to some of the top salons in Stockholm, New York, LA and Chicago!) The owner had an inflated ego, was lazy, talked over me the entire time, didn't listen to what I wanted, mocked me, gave me purple/orange hair and then tried to blame it on me and my choices. LOL!!!! What a joke. I've actually met quite a few famous hairstylists in NYC doing what I do for work and none of them were ever this egotistical. If I asked for cool colored blonde hair... that's what I should have gotten. Instead of kindly walking me through the process and working with me the man was narcissistically firing off his mouth so fast I could barely get a word in. This place looked cute and I thought I would give it a try because apparently some Swedish blogger liked it, I'm not sure how she came to that conclusion, but it's all style with absolutely no substance! DO NOT GO HERE!!! Trust me. Go to WIG, NOIR or SACHAJUAN!!!! I will be heading to one of those to be fixing the mess that "The Hair Bar" made.
