Who would have thought that salad makes for a great pizza topping?? This concept should be be adopted by pizzerias everywhere -- and once it does, Sal's deserves all of the credit for creating such a masterpiece. The house vinaigrette that's drizzled on top of the pizza is what really makes the pizza, in my opinion. The crust is crunchy and easy to bite into. The sauce had a great complimentary taste as well. As soon as we entered this establishment we were immediately told to leave as my service dog was not allowed in this business. This was not only completely uncalled for, it's also AGAINST THE LAW. The location is awesome and the staff is very friendly. Pricing is good and you can purchase by the slice or pie. It's doughy, crunchy, cheesy, sweet and savory at the same time. Sal's pizza slices are below average to my taste due to the excessive cheese and strong yeast taste. The sicilian slices are better tasting.

The reason they got 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the nice location in Mamaroneck. There is a teenage/20s guard standing at the door looking bored and annoyed and he accosts everyone who approaches the entrance "what are you here for?!" If you're picking up or not sure what your want to do he tells you to wait in a line but he'll let a bunch of other confused people in before you, all while rolling his eyes and looking annoyed. I wanted meatball parm dish but they made me a sub. I ordered garlic knots and they were literally the worst garlic knots I've ever eaten in my life. Dry as a bone, tasteless. The manager or owner asked if I wanted anything else when I was getting rung up and I said "I would've liked to have been able to look and order more if the guard wasn't stopping me " and another customer chimed in and said "I know right! I thought that was a little weird and unwelcoming!" And rather than using this customer feedback the manager said "he's not a guard, he's a kid " Well I don't know what he's guarding but it certainly doesn't need to be the garlic knot recipe. read more

Best Sicilian slice I've ever had. It says a lot because Ive never had a good one. Make sure you ask for a corner slice. Excellent crunch. However, the center does need a bit more flavor in their sauce. The regular pepperoni slice was just okay. Pepperonis could have been cooked longer for a better crisp. It was not the same cheese as they have on their regular slice. Walked by this place and was wondering what the line was about so naturally we pulled out Yelp to see and boy yelp definitely did not guide us wrong. Lots of reviews saying this place always had a line but it looked quite short so we decided to try a slice. We had a slice of the salad pizza and the Sicilian. Wow were we amazed. The salad pizza looked fresh and was super tasty and had a crispy bottom. The freshness of the salad and the crunchiness of the bread was a great combination! The Sicilian took a little longer to get as everyone was ordering it and they couldn't keep it in stock! So we were able to get a fresh slice and it was delicious! Sal's Pizza is a staple when visiting New York! Very little parking. The parking you can find along the street, you must pay! The entrance can be challenging for certain people with disabilities. This particular day there was a staff member assisting at the front door. The staff was a bit demanding of customers. I was ordered to stand in a certain spot before being served. After placing my order I was not too fond of the payment system they had in place! Then I was told to leave the establishment and return in 15 minutes for my pizza.
