I came here on the recommendation of my local town's FB group. My pup, bless her chewy heart, decided to gnaw right on through my Mickey Loungefly bag, ugh. I brought it to Sal who literally fixed it right on the spot. And he only charged $10 - now that is a fair deal! He was also very friendly and personable and finished the repair super quick. I would absolutely recommend Sal's repairs, and so appreciate him taking care of my request then and there - I was fully expecting to have to drop it off. Whew! Thanks, Sal! Have come to Sal a couple times with dismal-looking shoes and always left with beautiful shoes and having paid decent, honest prices! (CASH ONLY - no checks, online payment, etc!) This past weekend, the zipper on the only pair of boots I had for the weekend entirely split and Sal was able to fix them same-day, no problem. He really saved my weekend (and planned outfits). He once brought my favorite shoes back from the dead. I have brought them to a couple places since I wear them down so hard, but he certainly did the best job out of all the cobblers/shoe repairs I've seen, by FAR. He uses quality products and he's honest about what he can and can't do. He's old school, but so is the craft! And he's got the talent! read more

Not efficient and couldn't fix my shoes B. Simple soul glue

I needed to have one of my bags fix and he was the best one that was the closest to me. He's 15 minutes away but it was whatever to me. When I walked in the door, he told me he can do it, but the leather isn't going to be the same. I told him I didn't mind because it was to reattach the strap to the back of the back of the bag. I knew no one would notice besides me. He told me that it'll be ready between 12pm to 6 pm. I paid him and walked out. I came back between the time he said, and the bag was fantastic. The fix cost about $35, which I didn't think was that bad. He told me that one of the other links to the handles was going to go, but that it didn't need to be done yet. I will definitely go back here again. read more

I doubt the interior of this place has changed much in the past 20 years. Sun faded signs, hand written notes, the smell of old leather and suede. Sals is definitely the real deal -- Old school no bull leather repair shop. The owner is honest and straight to the point. He's fixed both mine and my partner in crime's boots multiple times. They come back looking as close to brand new as possible. He also repaired the stitching on my Burberry wallet for $20, saving me major dough because the manufacturer wanted over $100 to fix it! Pfft. I'll happily drive 30 minutes out of my way to drop off my goods. read more

I went to get two pairs of shoes fixed. One pair I had already taken to another place and they did a horrible job on stitching the straps it was horrible. Well over here at Sals, he tried fixing that one pair and didnt promise anything so he didnt charge me for it. . He fixed my other sandal on the spot and was great ! Sal's business looks like the ones I went to in the 70s and 80's. His business is so old he doesn't even have an answering machine. The phone keeps on ringing. Tried calling to see if he was open because I tried to pick up my repaired shoes on Wednesday at 5:55 pm on the way home from work. He was closed.... although the sign says 6 o'clock close. Figured if he's slow he probably close early... and I cut it too close anyway, but I did try today at 5:35 and he was closed again... maybe he really closes at 5 or 5:30.... hmm.. Then I am wondering if he got sick... no way of knowing though. No answering machine... getting here in the morning tomorrow and solving the mystery.... if everything goes well I won't be sending another message. Hope this helps anyone. This is my 1st time using him so I'm giving him 5 stars because my wife has been using him for years and thinks he's great!! read more

I was late to work, and the shoes I had just bought not even 48 hours ago was missing the plastic tip of the heel. I race over to Sal's in a panic and he calmly grabs my shoes replaced the tips, shined them and did it all with a smile. In and out in 5 mins and very fairly priced. Nick is the best! Brought in my 7 yo Frye Dakota Wedge boots, which were in desperate need of new soles. Initially he didn't have the color/style on the premises. He saw my disappointment and quickly reassured me that he could order what I needed for no extra charge, and they'd be ready to go in a week. A week later and my boots are good as new! He lived up to his promise and got exactly what I wanted. Add a new pair of laces for 10 bucks and it's the best $85 I've ever spent. Especially considering my alternative was to get a new pair of Red Wings for $250-ish, because Frye doesn't make these anymore! And when you get a pair of boots broken in just right, it's something special. Take your stuff here you won't regret it! One side note, they charge up front so don't be shocked. Also, they take cash and credit which is nice. Sometimes shoe repair guys are sticklers about the cash. read more

There is something seriously wrong with "Sal." I've never encountered anyone with such a bad attitude. I wouldn't even give him one star if zero were possible. I called his store and asked if he could attach ribbon and elastic to pointe shoes. He said yes, but that I would need to wait for it to be done because he did not want me leaving the shoes. I thought that was strange, but agreed. When I showed up, he kept walking away from me and shaking his head. He smelled like a distillery, and no, it was not the shop, it was him. He told me he was expecting me to pin everything where it needed to go. I said, fine, give me a pin. He didn't have one...how is that even possible?? He walked away again, never actually attempted to have a conversation with me. I would never give this person my business. Customer service matters. read more

I have been a long term customer and highly recommend this business! I've had boots repaired, and what most people don't know is the gentlemen is able to repair belts too (even non leather, men's and women's). I had an old belt that the strap was ragged and broken but the buckle was fine, I got a new belt strap and he removed the rivets and buckle from the old belt and switched the buckle to the new belt strap and added new rivets and thanks to his great work I have a new belt for cheaper than buying a new one in store!
