I do really like this chain, however this location is hit or miss. Most recently, my nachos contained 20 decent chips on top of a whole container of broken chips underneath, and my spouses burritos wasn't wrapped well and fell apart immediately. I know things happen but when you are a taco place and you don't have ground beef? Or do they... I order a curbside pickup order and pay led in a front curbside pickup space. Per instructions, I called and was promptly told that they had no ground beef because they forgot to cook more, did I want to substitute something. Normally I would have but the people I were picking up the tacos for are a little finicky. I asked how long before the ground beef was ready. I was told 30 minutes or more. I said I would wait out front in my vehicle. I went in to use the restroom and did I see people in line getting served up? Ground Beef. I'm guessing they needed to have it for the people coming in the store? I let them know I was going to be sitting outside. It took 30 minutes total but I did get my order (at full price mind you). So, I used their catering service and ordered a nacho bar for 16 people. My husband and son picked up the order when they got home, I was immediately disappointed. They sent one 2/3 full bag of chips for 16 people!!!! l called the store immediately, thinking it was a mistake. I was told that, yes, the nacho bar for 16 only comes with one bag of chips and the extra 32 oz queso and extra 32 Oz salsa I paid for do NOT come with chips. Ok, so I already flustered and angry and I realize that the extra salsa I paid for was missing, in addition to the tomatoes. I called again and was told by the young man, that he called the owner and she said I had to buy more chips if I want more. I mentioned the missing items, he argued with me and told me he doesn't have anything else in the cooler for me. Finally, he said I can come get the salsa and BUY more chips if I want to. It's now 5:00 and the party starts at 5:30. Fantastic. My family used to frequent this restaurant, as well as place "to go" orders. Our typical "to go"order was the deluxe family fiesta pack with an extra 16 ounce queso. Guess what, the family pack for six people mind blowingly comes with a bag of chips AND you guessed it, the 16 ounce queso also comes with a bag of chips. So, our family meal for 6 comes with two bags of chips, but the nacho bar for 16 only comes with one. They lost a loyal customer. read more

This place has gone downhill. We paid $45 for 3 bowls and it wasn't till I got home that I realized they messed our order up bad. I brought my husbands back cause his was the worse and the guy had the nerve to try and say it was my fault for not watching them like a hawk. I specifically asked for guacamole and olives on only one bowl How they put it on ALL of them is your staff not paying attention. Not my fault. Salsaritas is the best of that genre of food. chipotle gets people sick, Moes is admittedly good but no where close to as many options, and Cudoba or however you spell it is fine I guess. But salsaritas has all the options, good tasting food, and is run by fantastic people. Also I worked there as a kid and it's really really clean. should mention that. I'd still eat there. I can't cause I moved but I'd eat there for sure having worked there, and if you've ever worked at a restaurant that's saying something. I know the teenagers working there can vary in excitement in seeing you come in, but take it from me the people running the place love the customers. Good people, locally owned, great food, the queso is absolutely the best in the world, the chips are the best in the world, the portions smack all the other crappy tex mex places around. 5 stars. read more

If fast food Mexican is your thing, this is a good place. Unfortunately, its just not mine. When the peeps said Mexican food, I thought we would be going to a Mexican restaurant. Nope. The staff is friendly, and the line moves fast. It's just like the other places like this, only the ingredients seem better. I got a salad that was huge, I took half home. Salsarita's is another in the theme of assembly line "mission-style burrito" where you pick your style (bowl, burrito, nachos, quesadilla), pick your protein, rice, beans, toppings and you're good to go. If the crew is good, the line moves very quickly. Eat in or to go, I got a burrito bowl to go with chicken and pinto beans plus hot salsa (not that hot), corn salsa, tomatoes, sour cream and cilantro. We used to be regulars at this place. Like every other week, we were in here for burritos and quesadillas. Way back in 2019, I went in to order like normal. Had to ask the person 3-4 times for each question what they were asking me. This got to the point that it was so annoying that we stopped going. I tried again in 2020 and 2021, but I walked out in the middle of the order because the masks were making it impossible to hear what they are saying. And let me be clear, this is not a language barrier thing. It is that the employees are mumbling and staring down/away when they are talking to you. Combined with the ambient noise in the place. It was all too much. We went to a party last year that was catered by this restaurant which (again) was less than average. Cold meat, warm cheese, wilted lettuce. It was bad. Now in 2022, we tried again for lunch and couldn't hear a damn thing. The music is so loud and there is no sound abatement. I'm not that old and, yes, I have had my hearing checked because of other hearing-related incidents. So now I'm done, I won't be back. I'm not ordering on the app. I'm not getting over-charged for guacamole anymore. I'm not getting your dried-out reheated carnitas. I'm all done. I can look past the cost of avocado costing a small fortune. Because the food was good. Not great, but definitely better than Chipotle. I'll take my money somewhere else. read more

Went here for a Friday dinner, walked in and noticed almost all the tables were filled but nobody in line. Placed our order and quickly got the food. Went to get our drinks and noticed tea and lemonade spilled on countertop but figured they were busy before and had not had a chance to clean up. We sat at a table that had not been cleaned, no big deal I pulled out a baby wipe and cleaned our table. I watched 3 tables empty as we sat down. There were 5 people behind the counter, and in the time we ate (about 30mins) no one came to clean and sanitize the tables, sweep up the floor or wipe down the soda area. One girl did empty the over flowing trash can at the entrance. I will say all safety and cleaning was being done behind the counter but they missed the mark on cleaning the seating area. Also, I've been here many times but always when the owner was here she runs a tight ship so I hope this was a rare evening. read more

Walked in and place was empty at 2pm on a Mother's Day' Sunday. This should have been enough of a clue for me to turn tail and away as fast as I could, but time and resources dictated otherwise so I decided to give this place a try. Having never had been to a Salsarita's before, after taking a glance at the menu and its offerings, I asked the kid behind the counter if this was like a Chipotle. To which he replied "yes but way better." oh, I had my doubts immediately, but they did have shrimp on the menu which chipotle does not, so I thought there could be a chance that his statement might ring true. So I ordered the taco trio and indicated that it was a to go order. I asked for fajita veggies, diced onions, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and sour cream on the side. When I got up to the register, another employee stated that I added on the fajita vegetables to which there was an additional charge. A bit bewildered by this, and receiving no indication that there was going to be an additional charge for fajita veggies, I said "You guys charge for fajita vegetables?". The kid responded "Yep"...with a bit of a smirk. To which I replied "interesting. Chipotle doesn't charge for fajita veggies. Thought you said this place was better." With the smirk clearly gone from his face after comment, I had to again repeat myself that the order was a to go order, as they hand it to me on a plate. The kid wrapped it up in a to go box and I left. This was definitely NOT better than chipotle. The shrimp was horrible. SERIOUSLY overcooked and tough, to the point where it became not able to be eaten. The pork tacos had absolutely zero flavor to them. And the chicken taco was super bland as well. Honestly, the best part of the tacos, was the tortilla shell. But it was nothing more than a normal flower soft taco shell. Based on the food quality alone, I will certainly never be going back. Day 6. We are still eating from the large chip bag from salsaritos. It's endless. Perhaps the bag has an enchantment, allowing it to replenish overnight. Our floor is covered in chip crumbs. It is by far the largest bag of chips I have ever bought, both restaurant or store. They are very tasty- thin, crispy, with unique spices. The other food was awesome. Portions we're very generous. Everyone was friendly. Menu style allows for a lot of customization. Ingredients tasted fresh. I enjoyed the corn salsa which I haven't seen at competitors. Definitely 5 stars. read more

I went from ordering from this restaurant once a week to never again after I was treated so poorly. I ordered curbside pick up for probably the third time. The first two times were fine though they seemed to have trouble getting someone out there to deliver the food. The third time I ordered via the app and when I arrived was told that it would be a little late. I waited for 20 minutes past my expected delivery time before I called them again to ask why the food hadn't been delivered. Low and behold they'd forgotten my order. When they finally managed to get it out there 30 min later, the food was cold, the lettuce was browning, and I was wondering why in the world they even offer curbside when they don't care enough to do it right. The server was apologetic but that was it. No "We're so sorry, how can we make this right?" Nothing. I responded to the customer survey on the app and never heard anything back.. Zero stars for their horrendous customer service - and never again will I buy their over-salted Chipotle wanna-be garbage. Before you order, read my story! I completely understand that business is hard during this COVID pandemic and I have been doing my part trying to keep local businesses supported while being safe. I have also been understanding when plans had to be adapted, but this story is ludicrous. But today, Cinco de Mayo, at 5:00 I was sent a text message saying that the meal I had ordered last night to be delivered tonight at 5:30 could not be handled by the restaurant and our order was cancelled. Not a call from the manager, but the following text from Grubhub: "Hi {name}, so sorry - we've had to cancel your order with Salsarita's Fresh Mexican Grill (Costley Way) today due to the restaurant being busier than anticipated. You have been fully refunded in the amount of {cost}. We hope you choose to place another order!" So to recap, 20 hours after placing an online order for a special dinner for Cinco de Mayo, we were texted a half hour before delivery that we needed to come up with our own plan, which ended up being Italian leftovers. My favorite local place for a quick lunch or dinner. The food is always fresh and there's lots of options. Somehow their queso is way better than most and their ranch dressing is really good too. My favorite, taco salad in the shell with extra lettuce. It's needed to hold up to all the toppings! Update: I forgot about the Cantina Club Card. If i really want mexican i go to la tolteca right around the corner. If i want fast food style mexican i go to chipotle. There is no reason to go here, it just isnt worth it. read more

I'm not a huge fan of their actual food, I feel like their chicken isn't seasoned enough or is too dry. But their queso is the best! they have a party optium where you can get a large container for 20$ and it comes with a huge bag of chips! On our family taco nights we would stop by and just get this so that everyone could have some. But I wont eat their actual burrito bowls or burritos their cheese quesadillas are pretty good but those are my recommendations. read more

I really used to like this place, and I made a weekend (and sometimes durung the week) habit of going here. Even more than the food, I liked how the place was run and most of the kids working there. Like so many places, the customer service got worse and worse. The employees got rude, and the good ones left for college. No biggie, I thought, they are kids. I liked the food. Then the owner one day, who makes an issue of saying hi to regulars suddenly stopped "remembering," or even acting like she was happy to see anyone. I asked her about it and was blown off. She just said, "A lot of people come through here." I didn't push it, but it bothered me so much later, I did write her a letter. NO response. The message I got? This small town restaurant owner doesn't give a damn. No wonder other reviews mention the place is getting dirty. So...I stopped going as a matter of principle. I'm helping her out with how many people "go through." I don't recomment this place based on poor management, poor service, and from what I am reading, poor maintenance. Maybe we just went on an off day...but my husband and I were here a few days ago around 630pm and overall were not impressed. I ordered one of their burritos covered in queso dip and my husband had a large burrito. The only moderately warm thing in the entire burrito was the chicken. The queso and rice were both ice cold and pretty unappetizing. My husband was charged extra for adding fajita veggies to his burrito as well...a meal for two was about $18! We didn't get drinks or chips or anything....In the future we will stick with Chipotle...really tasty and WARM food there for about $5 less overall than our bill at this place.
