I didn't leave an immediate review after my haircut because I wanted to take time and reflect rather than write out of emotion. My hair has since grown back, and with clarity, I feel comfortable sharing my experience. I booked a haircut online for a listed price of $70. During booking, I shared a reference photo and explained in detail that my hair is very long and thick, and that I needed a stylist who would be patient and not rush the service. When I arrived, I re-showed the reference photo and reiterated what I wanted. Once I was in the chair, the stylist explained that she only has one hour per client. Despite this, the appointment felt rushed and disorganized. I know this because my service ran into her next client's scheduled time. That client waited for a period of time and ultimately canceled with her and worked with another stylist in the salon. While the stylist stated she only had one hour per client, my appointment ran well beyond that. My scheduled appointment time was 12:30 PM. I received a text at 11:43 AM asking if I wanted to come in early, and my receipt was sent to me at 2:13 PM. Even accounting for arriving early, this places my appointment at over two hours from start to finish--far longer than the one-hour window that was repeatedly referenced. I specifically asked for layered hair with shorter layers to help with the weight. Instead, I was given long layers, and my hair was thinned out without my consent ( as you can see the bottom portion of my hair is noticeably thin, compared to the top) . I didn't say anything at the time because the thinning had already been done and couldn't realistically be fixed. While my hair is healthy and grows back, the haircut I received was not the haircut I asked for. It wasn't "messed up," but it also wasn't what I requested. At checkout, the stylist leaned over and whispered to the receptionist, after which an additional $25 charge for thick/long hair was added. This charge was not discussed with me directly, despite my hair length and thickness being clearly disclosed before booking. After leaving a Google review outlining these concerns, the owner publicly accused me of never being a client and stated she stood by her stylist, without acknowledging the issues raised. Later that same night, I was contacted directly via text around 10:30 PM asking to "chat." That message was unsolicited and crossed a professional boundary, especially after publicly dismissing my experience. The outreach did not include an apology and felt more focused on protecting the business's image than addressing client concerns. I was polite throughout this entire process and even tipped my stylist. There was no malice on my end--just honest feedback. While my hair did grow back, not everyone is in that position, and an experience like this could be very upsetting for someone struggling with self-image. Ultimately, the lack of communication, consent, and professionalism--both during the service and afterward--is why I would not return and why I'm sharing this experience here for other women read more

Y'all! I just can't say enough good things about this salon! From the get-go, the online booking is so easy. I booked the same day with zero hassle. Plus, they offer gift cards right on their website, which is perfect for when you want to give the gift of gorgeous hair without the guessing game I always send my friends the link to exactly what I want ! When I walked in, I almost thought I had the wrong place because they rearranged everything to fit in two more booths! Love seeing how much they're growing! I've had 4 visits to this salon since mid-February and truly do leave happy every time! Idelette is sweet and easy to talk to and I really like how she cuts my hair. Both partial highlight visits left my hair caramel-y and vivacious! She goes the extra mile to make my hair look fab! My first visit was on Valentine's Day and they did a really cute flower bar to make your own bouquets along with some cupcakes! Such a lovely touch. I even think they gave away a free gift of Oribe goodies as well! The salon is clean and the ambiance is inviting. I am super happy that they have a lap desk that I can work on when I bring my computer to work during my appointments! I wouldn't be able to come during a day appointment if that wasn't the case. I really appreciate that accommodation and flexibility! My dock of a star is for the prices. They were already a very expensive change for me (I switched from a salon in Chesapeake which started to nickel and dime every service). The recent price hike (July 1) was framed in a way on their social media that felt kind of bogus. We get that the stylists are talented, but adding $45 to my already high bill makes me reconsider this salon long term. I already know that the response to this will be to switch me to a stylist who better serves my price point, which I'm not interested in. I feel like this is where the beautiful people work haha Immediately upon arrival, I was greeted and offered a complementary beverage. I happened to book a hair cut on Valentine's Day and they sure did spoil their customers! They had a flower bouquet making station, mini Bundt cakes to share, and they have a raffle ticket going on where you can win a really super nice basket of goodies! My stylist did a great job with my wash and cut and as I was leaving, I was also offered some free products to try out. I mean this was A+++ in customer service! I normally go get my hair done every other month whether it is a trim or color or both. I enjoy this beautiful beach vibe salon for its atmosphere, stylists and service. The service here is the best kind of service. I feel like a real-life princess every time I leave this salon. My stylist is Tiffany, but all the girls here are top notch. Tiffany always understands the assignment and she turns my hair vision into a reality. I can't praise this salon enough from the complimentary beverage choices to the pop-up events they have. When Tiffany is booked or not available I can always count on another stylist meeting up to her level too. If you haven't come to one of their special events like Galentine's Day you really should. My stylist is Summer and she is really wonderful. She asks what I want done at each appointment, gives her recommendation, and always takes her time. It is important to me that I feel her focus is on me while I'm in her chair and she does that. I booked a last minute appointment for a haircut with Katelyn. The first time I went here back in January, I had Candace, one of the owners, but she didn't have any availability since I booked so last minute. My first appointment with Candace was $78. When I went to checkout this time, the receptionist rang me up for $99. I was confused and she said I was charged extra for having longer hair. I paid it thinking maybe I did pay that before but I was pretty sure I didn't because I wouldn't have returned knowing that their prices were that high. After leaving, I checked my old receipt from Candace that showed I paid $78. I called and talked to Sherri, another owner, and let her know that the pricing was inconsistent. She just told me sorry but I should've been charged extra last time because of my hair length and since it takes more work and time. She said the last receptionist must've made a mistake. I told her that Candace is the one who checked me out last time and she said well Candace wasn't supposed to charge that. Never in my life have I ever been charged extra for having long hair. My hair is long but not absurdly long and I always ask for the same thing when going to a salon. When I booked with Katelyn, her pricing showed that her haircuts were about $74 so I definitely wasn't expecting to pay more than I did for Candace, who is a much more experienced stylist. Even better, when I got home and looked at my hair more closely, I noticed how uneven and choppy the layers are on one side. Overall, I'm very disappointed with this experience and will not return here. Paying over $100 (with tip) for a cut is absurd for Virginia Beach. Lastly, my appointment lasted a total of 35 minutes. This included a wash, taking off 4 inches plus some layers, and blowdry. Not sure how my long hair took so much time and work. read more

I'm a first time customer and very new to the area so I'm seeing this place with fresh eyes. By the grace of God, I found this cute little salon as I was scrolling on Yelp after a very much failed search in the Hampton area. The pink aesthetic totally caught my eye as well as the high ratings from other customers. I absolutely had to make an appointment! I wasn't able to get a same-day appointment but I was able to get one within 48 hours. It was relatively easy to do online! I was sent a confirmation text upon scheduling and received another text reminder about 3 hours before my appointment which was highly convenient as I tend to be forgetful. They post their availability right on their Instagram stories per hair stylist too which I thought was really cool! On the day of my appointment, first of all, the storefront looked very inviting, charmingly beach-y and clean. It's perfectly located near the cutest strip of houses along the shoreline. When I walked in, really catchy music was playing which put me in a good mood. I was greeted kindly by a nice lady with glasses and was offered some coffee while I waited for my hair stylist which was very lovely. It gave me a chance to get comfortable and look around. The inside looks even more beautiful than in the pictures! I was paired with Tiffany who was so gracious to help me chop off my hair and was very attentive when I asked to retain a feminine style. Stylists I've been to prior to her didn't give me nearly as good of a result when I asked for pixie cuts. She made it look so easy, it was done quickly and all the while she was really pleasant to have a conversation with. Tiffany's station was very clean and I appreciated the that someone would come by to push my piles of hair out of the way. Alyssa is amazing for curly cuts!! I have fine, thick wavy hair. She knew how to give me layers for volume without making my fine hair look stringy. I also asked for curtain bangs and she did a fabulous job. For the first time, I went with shorter bangs and didn't regret it! They look amazing curly and straightened. Please do not waist your time at this salon!!! I was so excited to come get my hair done here but ended up calling to cancel my appointment due to catching the flu. Salt hair collectives policy states that appointments canceled less than 48 hours notice will be charged 50% of the appointment reserved. No-shows will be charged 100% of the service amount. Keep in mind my scheduled appointment was on a Monday at 9am. This business is closed Sunday's so I left a voice message canceling my appointment due to being ill. The next day I get a notification that I am being charged on my credit card for $125.00 because I didn't show up to my appointment. Yes I understand the policy but I called and left a message that they claim they never even checked, Im sick with 101 fever, and they arnt open on Sundays so how am I supposed to cancel in time. So unprofessional!!! The only thing I had going for me was that Im a broke college student and the credit card the charged got declined anyway because I have no money on it... bummer.
