They were also really helpful in explaining the menu and how you can get a chug (smaller size) if you don't want the full serving. We wanted to try everything. Our main comment and unfortunately it affected our experience a lot is that smoking is allowed inside. This is not uncommon for bars in this country but they could have provided a pleasant experience for everyone and not just some by not allowing smoking inside. We smelled like smoke and our drinks came with a side of ill health. Other than that, we loved this bar and maybe it won't be raining next time so we can sit outside (where people still smoke but the smoke has somewhere to go).

Genuine atmosphere, a bit dark, just what's needed, with cool music and people. I tried their special menu which basically is a 6-course cocktail tasting (no worries, they all come into the "Chug" size glass;)) through which you'll discover their signature recipes. Pretty cool stuff, I recommend it for sure. Prices are very ok and staff is super friendly! I loved it and will go back next time I'm in the city !

This is a real bar with really good music and authentic staff and a great selection of drinks. The bar often has DJ´s playing. One on my favorite bars in St. Pauli. It is a sort of insider tip if you want to experience the real St. Pauli spirit. It´s location just off the Reeperbahn is easy and ideal to reach. Hopfenstrasse has several other very authentic bars next to Gunclub. I will be back.

Basically I was looking for the toilet (having never been to them here before) and took a wrong turn in the maze downstairs which landed me in the table-football room. After talking to the barman it seems that they only opened the room up a few weeks ago. So the upstairs is the same 3 Room Flat that we've always known, but downstairs there is a new long room with a few sofas, a second bar and 6 table-football tables. Yes, 6. It's quite a cool game, but it's depressing how good all the locals are at it...

You will get great service, nice DJ music and a friendly smile and a lot of stories :-). They serve beer, a sort of champagne and drinks such as vodka, rum, whiskey etc. They have a "Fussball" table for those interested. Some people claim that David Lynch got most of his ideas for Twin Peaks in this bar. You will find characters here that you could not imagine existed for real unless you have a very twisted mind. The music played here is likely the best in St. Pauli if not in the entire world. The old nearly deaf DJ plays the best music I have ever heard anywhere in the world. His same age wife is running the bar in a great and comfortable pace. If you are into the rare and unspoiled this is the place to be. This is the real St. Pauli with an original old sailor as DJ. This is an old bar with the candle of eternal life located on the bar desk. Some of the guests in the bar are said to be over 100 years old (maybe even the DJ and his wife) and they all claim that if you eat a small piece of the candle of eternal life you will as the name suggests - likely live forever. This is great news as you can then forever enjoy this fantastic bar with great music and originals. If you get bored living forever there is a kicker table where you can play football in all eternity... I will surely be back.
