    Tomato & Mozzarella Ciabatta
    Melissa T.

I ordered lunch with my coworkers and had the Tomato & Mozzarella Ciabatta with fries. The sandwich was really good, the pesto was generously applied and the balsamic syrup gave it the perfect touch of sweetness. The fries were good, a little mushy, but that's what I usually expect for takeout. I also received 2 biscotti cookies, which were a nice complimentary treat though I did not eat them due to an almond allergy. I would like to dine-in for dinner some time soon!

Service was friendly and efficient, food was great and atmosphere was not too hot or cold, not too loud, etc.

This was a great choice for dinner ! The food was very authentic and it made me want to try many different dishes. I hade the gnocchi with chicken and sun-dried tomatoes . I really enjoyed this dish it was very filling as well . Cocktails on point and did not disappoint. Oh the calamari was delicious and well seasoned! Great customer service and fast service! Let me salute this restaurant for amazing food !

Checked out the Rocky Hill Location as it is near my parent's apartment and I have to find them better places so they stop going to the Olive Garden. It was busy for a Friday night but they had plenty of seating. It is a nice location and a lot less dark than the Hartford location. We ordered the shrimp Diablo pasta for my mom, my dad ordered the Rose pasta and I ordered the chicken penne a la vodka. My mom loved her dish and defiantly made the best choice. Everything was fresh and delicious. They didn't skimp on the seafood either. It is not super spicy. My dad's Rose pasta was very good as well but he a little picky and wasn't a huge fan of the tortellini but I tried it and it was delicious. I had the penne a la vodka. The chicken was tasty but the pasta was bit soupy with the sauce. They fixed it but was still a bit too watery for my taste. Next time will defiantly order something else. Price was reasonable and in line with nicer Italian places in the area. I go to the Hartford location a lot for work and this one is just as good.

Such a welcoming place! From the host who answered and brought us to our table till the super nice waitress that made sure we had a great experience! It warms my heart knowing that this place exists!! The food was delicious and very glad they have gluten free options on the menu! This place was packed on a Thursday night so reservations are strongly recommended but also it means that they are doing something right! The ambiance was casual and I will definitely return. The cheese bread was delicious as always, the Greek salad had the perfect amount of feta cheese, the gluten free pasta in vodka sauce was decadent , the gluten free chocolate cake was amazing and the complimentary biscotti at the end are all the good reasons for us to return!

Stopped in for lunch at the bar. Great ambiance and the server was very friendly and attentive (like always). Ordered the bacon burger with fries. Could barely finish it, but I wasn't going to let it go to waste! Lunch or dinner, I've never had a bad meal here. I highly recommend Salute!

I had dinner with colleagues here during my work trip last week. We started out with this bread with tomato butter which was amazing. We got other appetizers and I remembered that the spicy fried calamari was really good. The portions are huge here. I was already half full when my entree, the 10oz North Atlantic Salmon (Grilled Salmon, Potato Lasagna & Sautéed Spinach with Preserved Lemon Cream came, cause I had two slices of bread. Salmon was good, loved the potato lasagna but it was very heavy. They also gave us this HUGE roll of garlic bread and biscotti to take home. Super friendly staff and ample parking outside.

"The sky's a-light with the guitar bite Heads will roll and rock tonight" For those about to rock, we salute you (AC/DC) We enjoyed a magnificent FIVE STAR lunch experience yesterday. We kind of knew Salute was going to be crowded when we circled their parking lot three times in search of a parking spot. We ended up parking in the plaza next door, walked through the rain, and were heartily greeted by the maître d' who walked us to what seemed like the only available table. Now remember, this was lunchtime on Wednesday, and Salute was pretty much at full capacity. We met Lori, our server, who was so professional and personable throughout our stay. She whisked over a complimentary breadbasket with "tomato butter", and I'll bet you a nickel those are two words you've never used together before. It tasted great. Speaking of "great", they have a great lunch menu of salads, sandwiches, and entrees mostly in the low to mid $teens. We went with a traditional Beef Bolognese over ziti ($14) and a Shrimp Diablo ($16). It was a beauty of a dish that also had hot Italian sausage and chorizo slices, Sicilian olives, and spinach in a red sauce over linguini. I asked for "extra spicy" and when Lori asked if it was spicy enough, I gave her a big smile because it was perfect. Another shout-out to Lori for her frequent check backs and water refills. Some restaurants offer small portions on their lunch menu, but not here. Both dishes were sizable and half of each came home with us. An unexpected surprise came when Lori wrapped up our leftovers and told us she put some biscotti in our bag to take home. Our two meals and an iced tea totaled $34.62 after tax and before tip. Considering the nice breadbasket, two big lunches, and freebie biscotti, that was tremendous value. Toss in the great tableside service and friendly maître d', well that easily explains why this was a FIVE STAR dining experience.

I recently tried the Rose Pasta and it was delicious. The sauce was creamy and flavorful. The for cheese tortellini was cooked perfectly.

I walked out after ten minutes. I may have chosen a transitional time to try this spot, but everyone was setting up tables, pouring water, and chatting up each other. I ate at another Rocky Hill restaurant in the area and was pleasantly satisfied! Your menu had limited wow factor to be brutally honest.

The Service at Salute is truly outstanding! From the moment we walked in, they were showing top notch care and loyalty. The host welcomed as at the door with menus in hand. She offered "where would you like to sit? sit anywhere you would be most comfortable!" It's the little things like this that mean alot. Shortly after our waiter Nate, came and greeted us "welcome friends". The whole time he referred to us as "my friends". He brought out complimentary fresh bread with the tastiest smoked tomato butter. For my cocktail I got the Lavender Lush. This was a refreshing and light cocktail that I enjoyed! For my meal I got the Peach & Burrata salad and the Tuna Maki. This salad was incredible! It was so fresh, delicious and colorful. There were grilled peaches, cherry tomatoes, pistachios and the softest, freshest, milkiest ball of Burrata cheese! My Tuna Maki was also a win! Who knew an Italian restaurant could also make sushi? I didn't. This Tuna Maki was a very good add on, it came with the best sriracha aioli sauce, that woke up my tastebuds. Others in my party got the stake and the mozzarella and tomato salad. They also gave each of us bags of biscotti to take home. We had a wonderful time at Salute of Rocky Hill. The staff is so hard working and dedicated to making certain we had a pleasant dining experience. We most certainly did. We will be back soon!

I have tried the Rocky Hill location twice now and I hate writing this review as I am a HUGE Hartford Salut fan so I feel kind of bad but I need to be honest. If it was just one mediocre visit I would let it go, but today was my second visit within a month or so with another disappointing experience. The menu is the same as Hartford but the flavor and quality just isn't there. When we sat in the main dining area the service was excellent, but today in the bar area I was very disappointed. The bartender was nice enough but not super attentive and the espresso martini was not good at all. (I usually love Salut's espresso martinis.) The ambiance is identical to Hartford as far as it being an inviting and comfortable space. Again, there are definitely servers and/or hosts in Rocky Hill that provide the same superior level of service that you find in Hartford, but there's definitely something lacking in some of the employees. It's just not the same and I hate to say it but I worry about this location. Anyway, I will continue to support Salut because I'm a huge fan but I'll just opt to make the longer drive to Hartford.

Just functional. I was there on an NFL Sunday. There were lots of regulars. There was good interaction with the staff. I didn't catch her name, but the woman who was the only person working the bar and waiting on the tables was amazing. She was super friendly to everyone. She hustled to meet everyone's needs. It wouldn't surprise me if she is an owner too. It's hard to find people, who aren't owners, who are that committed. I asked for a wing flavor recommendation and she said "Montreal Honey" first. I ordered 6. The wings are part-baked and then finished in a fryer. Good inner and outer texture. The Montreal Seasoning was right on. The Honey didn't have much of a presence either visually or flavor-wise. More was needed to balance the salt from the Montreal Seasoning and to justify the Honey in the name. I tried both the Blue Cheese and the Ranch. I'd recommend the Blue Cheese. I'll definitely return to try more wing flavors. I also ordered a crock of chili, which was full of ground beef and topped with melted cheddar and chopped red onions. The chili was solid. I'd probably try something else before I ordered it again though. I'm a fan of Hideaway and I'll be back. 4.25 Stars

Choices were limited to 'small and large plates', there was no appetizer section. We were asked "sparkling bottled ($$) or tap water?". We chose tap. Server brought an old-style quart-size milk bottle and small juice-size glasses. The water had no ice, so I assumed water was cold, it wasn't. I ordered a 'breakfast' stout, my wife coffee. Stout was served in a wine glass, not a traditional pint glass. Wife said coffee wasn't that hot. When they brought our beverages, wife asked for a napkin since none were on the table. Like most civilized countries, I like to put a napkin in my lap when I sit down in a restaurant. Apparently you need to ask for one here. Young server muttered something about place settings are brought when food is delivered. I guess an ale and coffee aren't napkin worthy. Not sure what they accomplish with this goofy policy. It looks more like some kind of cost cutting measure. We made reservations a week earlier, wanted us to confirm a second time through text the same morning. It led me to think this must be a popular place with people clamouring to get in. Once there, place wasn't bust at all, no waiting customers and a sea of unoccupied tables. Our guest arrived after we ordered our beverages. After a few minutes, I ended up flagging down a server to get her a drink. Another sign we were stuck with a 2nd or 3rd-string staff. Our aunt ordered a specialty drink from their menu; "champagne in a laundry basket", (looked more like laundry water in a wash tub). After taking our orders, paper menus were collected to be reused. Maybe they were saving money on copy paper. I kinda' wish she left one in case we wanted desserts or something later. They were keeping the table clear of literally everything. I ordered a humus plate for use as an appetizer, something to share and couldn't be screwed up while waiting for our main course. When entrees showed up, we all chose 'smoked sausage eggs-benedict', extra servers were in tow with plates, napkins and silverware, napkin place settings given after all plates were on the table. My wife was seated across from me, sitting next to her Aunt Nan. The first plate was placed in front of me. Even being the neanderthal caveman I am, I knew this was the most basic etiquette faux pas (I felt humiliated j/k). Ladies are ALWAYS served first, another red flag from an inexperienced staff. The 'smoked sausage' Eggs Benedict failed on many levels. It wasn't hot, poached eggs were both over and under-cooked- egg whites had chunky white snot, yolks were not runny. The 'smoked sausage', was kielbasa logs cut in half lengthwise, they were overcooked and impossible to cut without flattening and mutilating egg and muffin. They could be used as wheel chocks, I had to deconstruct it so sausage could be wrestled with on the side. Wife said the 'homemade' English muffin had the tap water taste like what we were served 'for free'. I couldn't help but envision a garden hose filling a mop bucket used for filling the milk bottles. The Hollandaise sauce lacked silky richness and flavor, I've had better with McCormick packets. Benedict was overpowered with the taste of the smoked sausage. This meal was our aunt's special treat for our birthdays. They did not finish their meals, leaving mostly the pieces of the hockey puck-hard sausage. Server had been touting the pastry chef for the home-made English muffins. They were not any better than Thomas's English muffins. I am a plate-cleaner by habit, I've even been called human garbage disposal, so I managed to clear this one, (except for the egg snot, it would've taken a straw to finish it). My wife always has leftovers I happily dispose of quietly, not this time, gave it a hard pass. I felt unfulfilled, I was food frustrated, so I ordered some bacon cheese scones and shared them with the table. They turned out to be the best thing we had, warm Bisquick quality with a good taste of bacon and cheese almost as addicting as Red Lobster cheddar biscuits. We consumed them like a pack of hungry wolves. I asked and was told they don't serve them with butter. These begged for butter. IMO, butter should already be on the table. My wife picked this venue for our birthday treat meal with our beloved Aunt Nan from MA treating us. I apologized to her for our disappointing choice. She said she was glad I said it, she didn't want to say anything to make us feel bad. With tip, the bill for 3 was $171.00. We could have had a better meal and service at an IHOP for a quarter of the cost, I know I would have felt more satisfied. This experience made onto my list of top 5 worst eating experiences.
