This school is just fantastic. True gem in the town of Napa. The school district has been on an…read moreoverall decline for a little bit of time now. As there have been less kids coming into the town, there has been less money going into the schools and more consolidation and less focus on learning and creativity but this school really gets it. The teachers and the principal are all fantastic, the kids are well-behaved and eager and intelligent and bright and encouraged to speak up for themselves, and the parents are working class, as opposed to a bunch of hovering helicopter Karen's that will drive you crazy. My kid couldn't be happier going there, they do poetry and art to go along with her academics and the kids are actually nice to each other. I just moved to the area and was trying to enroll my 3rd grader into the school and Mrs. Diane was very unhelpful. She had an attitude from the moment I first calles the office. Her line to me was "I don't know what you want me to tell you" ... Doesn't make it very comfortable to feel that way when your trying to place your 7 year old in a new school. I am a front desk receptionist at my job where we deal with injured workers all day. Do you think if they walked in and I was treating them with that kind of respect, that they would ever want to return? No! The first person you come across sets the tone for the entire workplace ... I am sorry but Mrs. Diane has not set a good tone with me on multiple occasions. I understand its the beginning of school and its busy and frustrating but so is life and if you can't handle it then find a new career. Needless to say I enrolled my son in a completely different school because I would much rather that then have to deal with Mrs. Diane each time I need to deal with the school. I would think really hard Mrs. Dana about finding yourself a new candidate for the front desk....

I have put 3 students through this school since preschool. It was a great experience for my son…read morebut my daughter was another story. They have a new principal and things have really gone downhill. My daughter just graduated from 8th grade and on her last school trip she and others broke the rules by swapping rooms. Let me tell you that they put kids together in rooms who don't even like each other. They were all in trouble and told that there would be consequences once they returned home. The other kids that broke the rules had ONE end of year trip taken away from them. My daughter had the end of year trip, last school dance, sports awards, chapel, teacher luncheon, final chapel and graduation taken away from her AND she was suspended for the last 8 days of school. This was the first time she was EVER in trouble at school. She is an honor roll student, athlete won an art scholarship for Justin Siena. The principal was so happy to deliver this punishment and when I questioned why the punishment was so much more severe for her... I was told it was because she admitted to going and getting the other girl and bringing her to her room! Our daughter was baptized in the church at 6 months old. She was also confirmed in the church one month ago. If this is how a community treats one of its own then no one is safe. It's not like a public school where you can appeal the decision or even get a valid reason for the decision. They have demonstrated just what Christianity means to them so be aware if you decide to send your children to this school.

There was no apology letter. it was Moore brush it under the rug. I should've done more for my son. The wasn't even an apology letter or how many kids were involved. They did more to protect the races kids that are being taught this at home, which is a form of child abuse. My son that was up. no parent apologize to my son Ethan and no parent apologize or try to talk to me about it. My son has a yearbook so I'm gonna ask him to go through and tell me every kid that was involved. I will not post that information, but I would like to know who these parents are that think that this is OK.

The teachers enthusiasm and love for the students is evidenced in and out of the classroom. It is not just about education though. It is also about building the character of the students through godly instruction, consistent modeling of thoughtful behaviors and use of kind words. The administration has worked hard to build the school into the kind of place kids want to attend and that parents are happy to support. The administrative staff is stellar as well! The tuition is competitive and there are not nearly as many "hidden costs" as other area schools. My children have had a wonderful school experience going to Grace Academy!

Summer is still brewing, but the feeling of Spring lands on the minds like a freshly started brand new beginning. I dropped off the first grader first and walked the fourth grader forth. She saw her neighborhood friend at the front of the line laughing with his buddies. He glanced at us, but he was too cool to be able to pull away and say hi to us. I totally understood. Who's young enough to be able to say that their elementary school had a website? Mine did not. We had chalk boards and dittos instead of web postings and emails. I walked to school uphill sideways and everything was downhill from there. Sorry, that's a whole different story. After four years at McXXXXXXX Elementary, it's exciting to be part of a promising new curriculum. I don't prefer tracks this soft but its free, its well kept and its free. The grass on the field is also very well kept and after school there are kids practicing lacrosse here. The grass is so well kept I was able to do some barefoot running training here after some interval workouts. No shade. And you'll get some red powder stuck to the bottom of your shoes for a short while after running on these kinds of tracks, so if you really really don't want that, I wouldn't wear them here.

Is she eating? Can I at least get a message at the end of the week notifying why is this happening? My daughter just turned 4 in July. Give her time to learn. She just turned 4!!! My husband and I as parents are working with her and speaking to her about following the rules and going over important things with her, we're doing out part but I guess that is not enough for her. Some kids learn quick, some learn slow. If she continues to not follow directions in the future THEN we will see what's going on. Just give her time that is all I am asking.

She has ADHD and her first grade teacher could not handle her in an appropriate way so she would just yell and embarrass her and make her sit outside. This teacher didn't follow the 504 plan and the school lied about accommodations not being made. My child was terrified of her. One time she was made to sit outside of her classroom and was afraid to ask her teacher anything. She was left out there for so long she ended up having an accident but was too afraid and embarrassed to say anything. This school is all about showing off and putting on a good front but their lack of caring or honesty shows their true colors.
