I entered this business off of a side street and followed an exiting car into the donation drop-off…read morespot. I had just seen the employee walk back inside. When I stopped, I noticed he wasn't coming back out so I unloaded my own two bags and carried them inside. This man immediately began berating rating me for entering the drive-through the incorrect way. By this time, I saw a faded directional arrow, which showed I was indeed going in the wrong direction. This man continued to scream at me telling me I was causing a horrific traffic jam. This is the thanks I got for donating my items to this organization. My apologies fell on deaf ears as he screamed at me driving away. Any future donations will be made to more appreciative centers.

I was told if items still have original price on them they were supposed to be marked 50% of that. Seriously ??? Most of the time the item is flawed or damaged in some way, or from past seasons. I have seen items in there that had yard sale stickers on them and GW marked them at some fantasy retail price. Holiday items are now marked with fixed prices and I guess stay on the shelves until they break or look so shoddy somebody pulls them for the dumpster. Visited this thrift store for their big annual discount sale. The back half of the store (old…read morewarehouse) reeks of cigarette smoke. It was impossible to determine if the smell was coming from something inside the large room (i.e., furniture, rugs, items, etc.) or if that was just the way it always smelled. They keep the children's toys and items in this part of the store, among many other things. I've had severe asthma my whole life, so even just being in that room was enough to make me start coughing. They have so much of their own decor that it can be confusing when trying to figure out what is actually for sale and what belongs to the store. Additionally, the store does not individually price a large amount of items (which are clearly for sale!) which is very frustrating (some areas have signs w/prices, others do not). Items that have been priced, vary greatly. For example, a very cheap purse might be listed at $20+ while a name brand purse is listed at $8. They have a section of designer/name brand items that is also marked up significantly. It would make sense if their prices were a fraction of what the item cost brand-new, but they're out here charging $35+ for very used leggings! And they weren't even Lululemon! The cashier was disengaged and barely acknowledged shoppers, despite the long line. It takes .10 seconds to make eye contact and greet a person. There are so many better, more reasonably priced stores in the area, so this is a no for me.

I called the store back within a hour of the purchase to see what we could do. The store wouldn't even give store credit and take it back to let some else buy it that it would work for. Tough to lose a brand new customer over $6 even with the return of the item still pristine. I'm sure I would have spent more money in the return as my wife wanted to go back to purchase a curtain rod and curtain for our guest room.

A very good organization that services Aiken and the entire Central Savannah River Area (CSRA)…read more They operate completely off of donations from area businesses and citizens and supply many of our local food banks and other charities, such as ACTS and the St Vincent Du Paul Society - all to help get food to people who might otherwise go without. They receive food donations from local and regional manufacturers and purchase food and other items directly from area distributors, then make sure that our local charities all get a share of what they can give out. At ACTS, where I volunteer quite a bit, much of the food they get from Golden Harvest goes out to hundreds of families in desperate need of it. And Golden Harvest supplies a lot of the donations that are handed out on the 3rd Saturday of each month at ACTS for what they call 'Senior Saturday', which delivers much needed food to our local senior citizens each month. Last week alone, they provided supplies for over 360 senior citizens in need! Please consider donating to this very worthy charity, as it is the source of food supplies for many of our other local charities who all work together to try to feed the hungry here in Aiken and the greater CSRA.
