This like many other charity shops, is full to the brim of clothing, books, childrens toys, CDs and other bric-a-brac. They also have a sign on the window saying "Donate, don't waste." So if you're thinking about having a spring clean and need to shift some unwanted items then I'm sure they'd be more than happy to take them off your hands here.

This is one of the main reasons that I really admire this place; seen as Scotland's population is indeed prone to these sorts of medical problems. In fact, a close friend recently had a family loss due to a sudden and massive heart attack in her sleep and at only 43 years old. Anyway, back to this particular charity shop. It's a decent size and has a good selection of stock. This includes knickknacks, books, magazines, records, tapes and cds as well as clothes, shoes and tons of kiddies toys. I realise, there is still some stigma attached to charity shops and I imagine, this is especially the case when it comes to children's books and toys. Which is a real shame because they do have some really nice and reasonably priced stock in here. Luckily, I don't know anyone with young kids, so this is something I can't take advantage of - but if you do, it's definitely worth a look. Other items to look out for in here have got to be sensible, good quality work clothes and - the odd time - shoes. Not all sparkles and excitement, I know. But I do have a real bug bare about spending loads of well earned cash on work clothes that immediately get shoved into the washing machine after a shift. Of course, it's not all about going buying mad; the other side of the coin if, of course, donating any unwanted items you have hidden under the bed. So pop along.

This is quite an old school charity shop: no fancy rails of "vintage items" or books claiming to be…read morefirst editions here: just racks of unsorted and sometimes ragged clothing, books in a pile and random CDs, all at a uniform price. So- it is a good one for browsing. At the same time, it also has a laundry service, as well as a cafe. So, it can, at least, guarantee that the second hand clothes are clean and you can always buy a cheap book when you fancy a coffee break. The staff, of course, are charming and fun, eager to help and always up for some chat.

The selection of guys clothes was, as is quite often the case, made up of dead man's clothes and cheap ASDA clothing, and the books, Cd's, DVDs etc were ok yet not as extensive as other places in this area. The main thing about this place, the thing that separates it form the rest of the charity shops is the inclusion of a coffee shop at the rear selling...coffee, cakes, scones etc. The staff also seem nice, when there not following you or eying you up as there next soup feeding victim..... Worth a visit? Yes. With so many good charity shops in this area you may as well just pop into this joint too.

This British Heart Foundation charity shop is a little small and VERY cramped. It does however have some nice shoes and boots, and there was a reasonable amount of accessories on offer. The best thing about this charity shop is the book selection. Despite the small size of the store, they actually have a very large selection of books - which is great news for all you second-hand paperback lovers. If you can manage to squeeze through the rest of the charity shop stock, that is. In other news, this shop sells quite a nice selection of homeware such as classes, ornaments and vases. Some is second hand, but some is new - and the new stuff is actually quite nice. You might also be interested to know that they sell a range of new hair accessories. This includes wedding-style "fascinators" as well as general headbands. I'd had my eye on a 1920s style flower headband for a while, but hadn't been too keen to pay £15 for an Urban Outfitters one. British Heart Foundation to the rescue - they had one for £1.99. Bargain.

I have to admit that with so many charity shops along the road in certain parts of the city…read more*coughByresRoadcough*, I don't even see them anymore. I sometimes will look in, but I don't really see anything different than any other charity shop. I wandered into this one because I saw a bag in the window that was just what I was looking for. Inside, I found more; Clothes, jackets, shoes (lined up and displayed properly, the opposite of which is a personal pet peeve of mine); books (alphabetised), DVD's, CD's, and videos. The clothes are probably the best I've seen for a charity shop. Most of them are from notable high street stores, and the mistake that most charity shops make is that they notice the tag and then mark up the price. I don't necessarily feel that's fair considering it's used clothing. But this isn't true for the British Heart Foundation. They know what they've got, and they modestly price everything so that neither party feels as though they're getting ripped off. I like that. It's like ethical shopping.

Most of the clothing in here would suit older generations, with high quality V neck knits and a copious amount of lilac skirts and shirts! All were well priced and kept in really good condition - an easy outfit option for fancy parties! There was also an amiable selection of clothes for gents, including a large supply of jackets. The volunteers were hard at work keeping this place clean and orderly when I entered, and were notably in high spirits which is always nice on a rainy day! They were hard at work on an Easter display - gotta love a charity shop with seasonal themes. They had broken out the Easter bunnies from the back for this special occasion, and I must admit I did giggle when I heard one of the ladies comment on how one of the toys was "nice, but glaikit lookin'". What a greatly underappreciated Scots word, and to great comic effect - for those of you not from these parts it means you look a bit morose and downtrodden. Seeing people happy in their job is a rarity these days and it was pleasant to see these ladies getting into the Spring spirit of things.

I soon discovered their retro section, which is filled with gorgeous vintage gowns, coats, hats and scarves, all at amazing prices compared with city centre vintage vendors. My proud purchases include a coral pleated dress and a pretty, floaty floral summer dress, at a total of just £10 for both. Bargain! There is also a good selection of linens, tablecloths and blankets in here and there are probably plenty of bargains to be had if you have an eye for that sort of thing. A very lovely little charity shop that boasts much more than meets the eye.

The usual array of clothes, shoes and crockery greets you at the door, but at the back lies a small, but ever-increasing Retro section - no doubt to cater for the students flooding the Dennistoun area in recent years. The most recent result of my foraging in here was a Billy Connoly video, a Stereophonics video, a Chick Flick book and Jane Austen's Emma, all for £1.90! As ma maw says, where would you be going? You can't get cheaper anywhere and it's all for charity, so what's not to like??

My tip would be to spend most of your time in what looks like the main shop which is next to 1901 Deli, it may have the smalled selection of books of the three, however it has more bits, bobs and what nots.... To be entirely honest, i found the charity shops in this area to be of an extremely high quality. Ok they don't go for the 'vintage' market as much as there West End cousins, however the prices and quality of the gear is second to none. Excellent experience.

I…read morehave bought video recorders, books- at bargain prices, since they operate a special "one price fits all" policy- furniture and cutlery here. They really have avoided that modern charity shop trend of vetting items, and theming the store. This makes it a delight to browse, even if you have to be careful not to knock anything over. Cosgrove seems to own three shops on the street, and although there was a time when one was more about furniture, they all offer the same collision of second hand goods. Recently, they told me that they were not accepting electrical items anymore, which is a shame... I had some cheap lamps out of here that served me for three years. Unswayed by fashion, Cosgrove has that real old school charity atmosphere: dive in and enjoy.

Most recently, I was amused by hearing the No Mercy classic, "Where Do You Go? (my lovely)", whilst the hoodie wearing teen behind the counter sang along quite cheerfully. Hilarious soundtrack aside, this is a great big charity shop filled with loads of bags, books, shoes and scarves, as well as many many rails of clothing ordered by style and size, which is a nice little time saver. I find this to be the best shop of its kind in the area if you're looking for some books, as they have a great selection at very low prices, which is always a bonus. There are shelves filled with trinkets and pointless decorations that you would expect to find on your granny's fireplace, however there is the occasional little gem like pretty wine glasses. Definitely worth a visit for the impressive selection of nineties classics alone.

Popped in here the other week for a quick flick through the racks…read moreand stumbled upon a kick ass blue pinstripe suit (three piece) for fifteen of your earth pounds! Now normally I can never find an entire suit set to fit my odd body, but clearly this suit was purchased by my future self and left to charity I passed... yeah, that must be it. Beside this, the vibe of this shop is a little dif from your regular charity joint. The chick who I've seen in here on most occasions, has a slight hipster / librarian vibe going on, but minus the aloof manner. With this in mind, you can see that she puts out some effort into digging through the mountains of gear to find the odd hidden gem. So yeah, for vintage gear in the West End at non West End price... you could do worse than check out this joint.

There's nothing that special about this shop - although the girl behind the counter was very friendly.
