I am not sure how open they are to having random people walk in and snap pictures during the regular banking hours.. but if they are.. you need to go! It's one of Halifax's oldest buildings and just a beautiful representation of the architecture. There is the original brass fixtures everywhere. From the elevator doors, to the windows, to the safety deposit area's gate. It's all there in it's original glory. And as an added bonus, they were giving away free books of old advertising back in the early days of Halifax.

Well, for the first time since moving out of my parents place I decided I would be a big girl and…read morehead to H&R block to get my taxes done myself. I never thought I would have such an enjoyable experience after seeing all those tax pain commercials on TV. I walked in and was told that there would be an hour wait, fine I had errands to run anyway. I handed the clerk my t4's and returned an hour later. My tax consultant was Joan and let me just say she is one of the reasons I had such a great time! Wonderful! She called the CRA for me as I was unsure of my carry forward amounts from tuition and we got the information we needed to continue. Joan was friendly and courteous and carried on a conversation that lasted the entire time I was there. I will definitely seek her out next year. I was refunded in full; which is not what I had expected at all. So now my bank account and wallet are happy campers! There are a couple of options to get your money; an H&R debit card or checks- I opted for the checks, headed to the bank and now my refund sits happily in my account. Students pay only $30, and receive a SPC card. So now, I can even get discounts while I shop with the extra money I didn't think I would have!

There was one accountant who has placing little cards on all the desks ,mean while the waiting room was packed.When we finally did get called on,our accountant couldn't figure out what papers to staple together.We mentioned to her we had been waiting for over 2 hours. Her reply, well some people wait for three,I guess we were the lucky ones. Don't waste your money or time.
