Not a lot of lounge options for such a busy airport. If you are departing to US and any non European cities, you will likely be in terminal 1 gates D/E, which means this is your only option for pp. it's not bad- large but often crowded given limited lounge options. Adequate selection of bottled drinks as well as bar with alcohol options. Food is ok - lots of carbs. The food area can be a bit chaotic as there always seems to be lots of ppl just hanging around and the set up makes walking around difficult. Glad I have a place to rest though read more

There aren't many lounges at Barcelona airport, so it was crowded. I am allergic to many foods, including milk, cheese, eggs, raw tomatoes. The food selection was fairly limited for me. The salad greens looked wilted. Still, it's preferable to sitting by the departure gate. read more

We had trouble finding this lounge during our layover flying back to the US since it is after passport control (the passport control line took 1 hour to get through) and there were so many people cutting the line it was ridiculous. When we finally made it to the lounge, it was very crowded and not many food options since they could not refill things fast enough. Sadly, all the food that came out were lukewarm or cold... coming from the Malaga PP lounge, we were not as impressed by this lounges' selection. However it was clean and had plenty of drink options. This lounge is only accessible after going through customs. If you're here with Priority Pass, the other Salon VIP lounges actually won't let you in if you're flying to the States since they want you to go to this one after customs. Once checked in, there's a buffet area and a large seating area that overlooks the rest of the airport inside. This lounge is definitely spacious with many couches, lounge chairs, and working stations. While there's a variety of food options, nothing that too spectacular. They offer pastries, hot dog, soups, wraps, sandwiches, and breads which were just decent. I can't complain about free food, but wish there were more savory meat options for a fulfilling meal. Also, some of the charging outlets weren't working, so I had to move seats until I found one that works. read more

Awesome lounge to spend time in before a long transatlantic flight home. It's a little hard to find, but I had found directions online so I knew where to go (once you get close, there's signs, but initially ensuring you're heading in the right direction is a bit iffy). The lounge is huge. When we arrived, everyone was clustered on one side (right in front as you enter the lounge). We went around to the right and found a giant seating area that was completely empty (but, they had food and drink stocked on that side). The food options were plentiful, a lot of European/Spanish/Catalan offerings, which I loved. They also had a fancy coffee machine to make lattes, mochas, etc. A decent wine selection as well for us to make mimosas. The lounge is up above the main terminal walkways, but it's 'open-air' so kind of cool. The lounge did get extremely warm as it filled up. I will be back in Barcelona next month and look forward to visiting this lounge again. read more

This airport lounge was accessible to me with my Priority Pass card. After a wild morning in the Barcelona airport, discovering the airlines changed my flight home while I was at sea, and now had no tickets home. I spent over an hour rebooking with United and $3000 later. I needed a lounge to relax in. The lounge was well marked. Greeted as I entered. A very large lounge with various area of seating. But almost all of the areas were dirty. Used dishes and glasses everywhere. I finally found a corner small table to park in and just moved the previous guests' trash to the side and used my own disinfectant wipe on the table. There were several options at 10 am for beverages, snacks and meals. And I was able to partake in the buffet a few times. It was almost two hours into my stay before anyone came by to pick up any used dishes. The restrooms were large and clean. There are even shower rooms available. read more

We were able to use this lounge on our way home to the US as we flew in business class. It was located upstairs after you pass through passport control, which took about 30 minutes to get through. The signage was pretty good, and the receptionists were able to give good directions when leaving the lounge to get to my departure gate. In the lounge, there are a multitude of places to sit and relax or eat a preflight meal. At breakfast, there are fresh pastries, traditional catalan foods, and some American options. They switch over to lunch items around 11:30am, and there are salads and hot pasta dishes. I felt the service was a little slow in replenishing the food plates. It was also nice that in the area away from the main food section, there was a separate beverage/snack station and a large bathroom. The second floor lounge overlooks the shopping mezzanine in Terminal 1. read more

It's a nice quiet Lounge in Terminal 1. My flight was on the other concourse but I had ample time so I walked extra to visit this lounge - and I'm glad I did! I love it when an airport lounge offers local, traditional food. Here, I found Iberian ham, croquettes and Spanish omelette which all were tasty. These were most popular and went by quickly but I saw that staff were working hard to bring more in timely manner. There are plenty of seats and I found it very comfortable. read more

If you're fortunate enough to be able to access a lounge before your international flight, from Barcelona, this one has a lot of space and several different types of seats: desks for working, tables for eating and even comfy chairs for napping. I am failing to understand the lack of higher reviews! This lounge has been one of the best lounges we've ever visited. We went on a Friday morning and it was not packed. We loved the availability of different seating and the incredible selection of food and alcohol -- they had your typical Spanish food (croquetas, tortilla, etc) and a mix of other things like a salad bar. The lounge was huge, comfortable, and SO clean. We saw at least three employees mopping and wiping surfaces throughout our short 1-hour stay. They accept Priority Pass. read more

Gayle and I flew Business Class as part of our recent trip to Spain. For long trips like this, we enjoyed the extra flight comfort and the opportunity to relax in 3 different airport lounges at ORD, MAD, BCN, and JFK. Yes, this is more expensive that flying coach, but we could afford it, and as Gayle often says" "Who wouldn't want to be comfortable?" That's why I sometimes refer to her as my "1st Class" Wife. We visited the Salon VIP - Joan Miro Lounge on the way home, starting here at BCN, and onward to JFK. The directions to this Lounge are not clear at all, but once we realized that it was after Passport Control, it all started to make sense. However, if you were hoping for some last minute "duty free" shopping, there's not much to choose from after you're past that last check point. And you can't go back to all those nice shops in the large arcade that you saw after you cleared Security for the first time. The Lounge itself was very comfortable. Food and adult beverage selections, although relatively minimal, fit nicely with what we liked. And for those reviewers tempted towards supplement offerings here with the adjacent Burger King, all I can say is, Really? But by all means, go ahead and "have it your way". Gayle and I found nice seats in a quiet area and enjoyed hanging out. There was plenty of space (and outlets) for screen work, and as private as necessary. are seating was nice and in a quiet area, and it was easy to work off any screen of choice. This lounge was so spacious. It was clean too and had its own restroom w.o having to exit the lounge. It also had showers. Didn't use those though. The drinks were well stocked! And self serve. They ran out of clean champagne flutes so I used a wine glass instead. That's the important part right? Later I saw they brought out clean flutes. The food was tasty and a little fancy but they'd only put out like 4 plates of mini burgers and then would not refill that item. This seemed to be usual with most of the hot food items. We were there for about 2 hours and saw a food transition. Staff was attentive. I would definitely come back here and was one of my favorite lounges. read more

TLDR: really nice lounge in the Barcelona airport. ____ It's a little Hard to find but they are on second floor under the Burger King (that's on third floor). I accidentally stumbled across it thinking I was going to another lounge. I guess there are no other lounges, at least that's what they told me. Baked goods were great. Croissants (regular, chocolate and cream filled.) they have little Nutella packets. Yes I dipped my croissants in there. Full booze bar, but skipped that since it was an early flight. Coffee was meh. It's an automatic espresso machine. Not the best. Juices were good. They had a variety including orange, pineapple, apple orange and others. Various breads. Cold cuts and cheese. Crushed tomatoes that I used on bread for one last pan con tomate as well! Very nice lounge with plenty of places to sit. Bright and modern. The lady at the entrance was a little rude to me for some reason. Everyone else inside was really nice. read more

The airport has an odd configuration. You go thru security and enter the gate area. Then you pass thru immigration. The "VIP Lounge" is difficult to find. Once there, we were greeted by a number of filthy tables, completely covered with dirty dishes. For a cup of decaf coffee, the coffee machine gave me a cup of hot water. This was the dirtiest and most unorganized lounge I have ever encountered. I normally don't write bad reviews. But my experience definitely warrants it. We showed up during the lunch rush. I get that can be a challenge. Upon arrival we found a seat at the cleanest spot we could find. This still had a mountain of plates and letftover drink bottles that hadn't been cleared in what appeared to be hours. When I got up to get food, there were no plates available. This was likely due to none of the seating areas having been cleared. When I asked if they were bringing plates, the lady nicely asked for 5 minutes to get them brought out. A few more plates which quickly got snatched up by the hoards of people waiting. Once plates were available, only about one-third of the food was actually available. I grabbed what I could before the hungry hoards took the rest of what was available. Every time food would be brought out, it was only a few items that would quickly get snatched up. When I went to get red wine, it wasn't available, it was on a cart that one of the staff was driving around aimlessly. This staff member made himself look busy by walking around with the cart, but was doing absolutely nothing. About 45 minutes into our visit, a lady came around and cleared out as much of the mess as she could. Most of the staff were trying hard and it appeared they wanted to provide better service but they just couldn't keep up. I feel like management needs to either hire more people or do better at streamlining processes. I've never experienced this as a VIP lounge. I saw so many great reviews from the past so I'm thinking this is definitely poor management at this point. read more

Right after the passport control on the D terminal side on the lower floor. The space is very big and open, tables are spacious separated. With personal pods and working stations available. Food is minimal, just some cold cuts, cereal bread and fruits. Beer and liquor available. Soft drinks are on crown caps so you can't really take away without an opener. Located immediately after passport control in Terminal D, this lounge is only accessible to international passengers in that terminal I believe. Unfortunately not the best experience here. As you enter, you'll notice the list of airlines the lounge services, which makes for a busy, BUSY place. There were many things that were not refilled and areas that were rather unkempt. The food offerings were decent and tasty, just wish they were filled more often. As a priority pass member with free entrance I would return. However, I wouldn't recommend paid entrance as you would get more bang (and space, seats, etc) in the terminal. read more

So this lounge in departures is better than the lounge in arrivals for Priority Pass members. There isn't the most amount of amenities or food here, but the couches at least aren't covered in stains. There is a quite area that is dark and for resting. That quiet area has 6 "stations," long couch, table, and light per each. They have toast, cheeses, yogurt, drinks, and a small ice cream fridge. All of which make for a good snack. The bathroom stales are large with plenty of room to bring your luggage in with you. They have Spanish magazines you can take with you. There is a decent amount of seating, but the WiFi is nonexistent. They tell you the username and password to log onto but you won't even be able to find any signal, let alone a network name to connect to. read more
