Granted my wife did a lot of the investigative work that forced her ex to settle, but that's also to Tom's credit because he certainly wasn't afraid to go to trial and handled her ex's attorney with fearless finesse. Tom was always a no-B.S. person, so don't go there looking for counseling or emotional hand holding. He's there to win your case. He's not rude, but you have to be prepared to understand that you have hired a litigator, not a paper pusher who just writes wills and trusts and does real estate closings. He can do that too, but his strength is in functioning as more than a basic "I can do it cheap" lawyer. I'd recommend him for serious work, you can probably get any mush from google to do the other stuff. Although like I said, it's not beneath him. The guy is a worker.

After thinking about this, I am the one who continues to suffer and though I don't usually write reviews, I felt that I needed to tell my story. My attorney seemed kind in the beginning, and I felt strongly that I was in good hands, but as time went on, it changed. I was treated disrespectfully, and I felt that my settlement was unjust for the multiple surgeries and degree of suffering I went through, and I still am in pain every day and still in therapy. I have had regular follow up appointments at my orthopedic doctors. I have CRPS and recently this year that are recommending that Rush pain center implanting a pain pump may help. I am 69 years old and this is now what I excepted and no longer to handle all of these doctor bills. had a very renowned orthopedic surgeon, and he knew that I was badly injured and he expressed that I am a good and honest person and told everyone just that. I was a volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul and now I can no longer do what I love to help my church and community. I was treated disrespectfully with no compassion despite that was a very stressful day for and I cried all the way home the day of my arbitration. I often can't sleep at night because of my pain, and it just bring this injustice to mind and makes things worse. My life was drastically impacted by my accident, and my lawyer treated me like he was representing the defendant. I am not deleting my review. I feel the need to tell the truth because I am the one who's life was changed by this accident. I felt that my settlement was grossly unfair and was far less that what he initially told me my case was worth. I was given false information. He said "If we don't settle now, I have to go back and write a 15-page summary of some sort for the judge" with a sigh. He seemed more concerned with recovering the firm's expenses than what my life would be like going forward. I write this for personal closure and hopefully help others.

Pay whatever the man is asking for his services and hire him. Now, that we've got that out of the way, I can explain why. My hubby and I have lived in Chicago for 10 years now. Since then, we've met a lot of great people. Some of them are amazing law / police officers. Unfortunately, my hubby has crossed paths with a few invidious police officers that lead to him hiring Mr. Uche on two separate occasions. The first dealt with a DUI sting where the officers were arresting almost anyone who drove pass their "trap". My hubby called me after they pulled him over and told me to come get the groceries he had just picked up from the store. When I came to pick them up, the officers assumed I had driven through their "trap" and were going to arrest me until one officer had a conscience and told the other officers I came from a different way (and he let me get the groceries out of the car my hubby was in, too). They arrested him that night without giving him a breathalyzer. My hubby originally contacted several other lawyers that told him they didn't think they could do anything to help him. When my hubby went for his first court date, we saw Mr. Uche in the hallway of the courtroom and my hubby ask for his business card, explaining to him what happened. Mr. Uche said, "that's easy - we'll beat that case without a problem." My spouse and I talked about it that night and we both noticed he was the ONLY lawyer of all the ones my hubby spoke with that sounded even remotely confident about helping an innocent person be found not guilty. That's when we both agreed it was best to hire him. And our intuition was right because Mr. Uche was able to almost effortlessly defend my hubby and he was found not guilty. The second case was related to my hubby being in a van with six other individuals he played basketball with. The van was pulled over for a broken cracked light/lamp. Unbeknownst to my hubby, someone in the vehicle had a concealed weapon(s) that they placed on the floor of the van at some point during the traffic stop. The officers searched the van because of the broken tail light. Instead of the officers charging all seven of the individuals (or even at least the individuals that the weapons were near), they charged my hubby. Again, my hubby called Mr. Uche and explained the situation. Mr. Uche said, "don't worry - we'll win it." AND my spouse was found not guilty. IF there's anything I can say we've learned about these experiences, it's: 1) Don't drive in Chicago; take the metra, L-train, or catch an Uber instead to avoid being wrongfully charged for something you didn't do, and 2) Hire Mr. Uche if you do get charged with anything! If he says he'll win your case and find you innocent - believe him! P.S. He's not one of those cheap lawyers with empty promises. If you're going spend money, at least spend it to actually win your case.
