I walk past Windle the whole time and have never been in, fearing for the price tag. I didn't need to have a fear, generally hair cuts are about £40 in London, and here for £50 you can have the best hair cut of your life! So I turn up and book an appointment for later in that day. I have Colette cutting my hair and for once she Listens to what I have to say! I have a bad back and always struggle with the hair washing sinks. I normally ask not to have my hair washed because of this, at Windle I didn't have to worry. The electric chair rose up and laid me flat, dipping my hair into the warm stream of water. They even have a selection of shampoos and taylor the wash to your hair type. So I showed Colette a picture of what I wanted and we had a chat about what would suit my face and hair type. All through the cut I felt like it was a team effort, both of us finding what would be perfect for me. Over an hour and a half later we did it. I had a "pretty shaped head" as she put it! Thank you Windle and Colette, this was worth every penny!

But when I finally decided to get extensions put in I quickly regretted it. The extensions were laying on the tray and they looked dull and frayed at the ends, even after asking her to make sure this was the highest quality hair. She said yes and continued to start putting the hair in. After sitting there for about FOUR hours they were finally in, and still looking frayed at the ends as if someone has already curled and straightened the hair multiple times. The woman putting in the hair clearly didn't say anything and Darren who cut and styled it said nothing either. So I said nothing also thinking it was normal, since I didn't know much about hair extensions to begin with. ONE WEEK later my hair starts to fall out. THREE weeks later about 8 pieces of hair have fallen out and I go back to get them put back in. She puts them in no problem. A couple weeks pass with the same problem (my hair falling out), I call to complain AGAIN and they said I could come in free one more time to get the hair put back in. This is where I started to REALLY get mad at John Frieda. I called them asking to book an appointment and each time they have said they would call me back with a date and time to do so. It's been nearly TWO months ! They have ignored my phone calls for two months ! I called about 14 times. This whole experience has been a NIGHTMARE and extremely unprofessional. I'm extremely disappointed with this salon, especially since I paid 1400£ I still haven't heard anything from them and decided to get my hair fixed by someone that knows what they're doing.

My mother's money also funded my ticket to the company Christmas party where I received my first kiss no less than a week after my husband left me pissed & blurry eyed. From that moment on I realized that everything would be okay. I was clearly desirable, I had a good job, a well located apartment... it was an expensive city but I could totally do it if I wanted to. I could be the single girl in the city! I didn't get to be that before because I was with the bastard! I ended up staying for 5 more months. There was a lot of crying but a lot of growing up. I booked a week in advanced and when I arrived the owner said he decided that he wasn't going to cut my hair because one of his regulars wanted that spot....sorry, I thought we all made appts the same way. So, he sent me to one of his junior stylists. To be fair the stylist was nice, but unfortunately the average cut he gave me only lasted about a week before it turned to a hot mess. Think sort of 80s mullet meets a bob. Not a great look. Really disappointed to be first shuffled off so quickly and then get a haircut that I could have gotten in a strip mall. Not worth the trip.

I walked in and asked if I can have a blow dry and they said yes right away- the woman mentioned that they don't use round brush !!! "So how am I going to get bouncy straight hair ? " I asked She said it will be bouncy and straight it is just their technique is different Now I am always up for trying new 'techniques' ( which I could change) I sat on the chair and started observing the different signature 'technique' that Vidal Sassoon bunch do And I was not happy at all! It was something like giving a brush to a 5 years old and a hair dryer I had something similar to a rough dry that usually you won't be charged for at all salons in london! This technique of not using round brush and having very low heat and recently just allowed to use GHD s might be perfect for someone with naturally straight hair but my wavy locks need some pressure to make them look good !! You might think that I am exaggerating but when I was in a queue waiting to pay the man on front desk thought I wanted to have a blow dry ! Simple because my hair looked like it was not even brushed! My motto for curly hair is, "do no harm" because I have had some really bad salon experiences... until I met my girl Melissa in Pasadena.. but I don't have access to her anymore. I knew once Tiff started cutting my hair that she knew what she was doing. Curly hair cutting is all about the shape and releasing the curls. Once it gets too long, the curls start getting weighed down, so a skilled haircutter knows how to keep the length but release some of the hair's weight. i also had a touchup on my color. I'm very happy with the results. I think I found my salon in London.
