There are not many shoes or bags here. The selection of clothes are pretty good and the prices are pretty low. You have a little cubicle with a curtain to try on clothes. It was here that I decided to go on a diet and I've lost a stone. Come for this reason. There are often designer bits here due to the areas proximity to Hampstead, Swiss Cottage, Saint John's Wood etc. The average skirt will run you about 10-12 pounds, a shirt 5-10 pounds. This shop also does a nice selection of coats. This shop doesn't have a charity shop vibe actually because it is nicely laid out and the people who shop here have taste. This is the story, morning glory, that I remember about this shop. It was a gray and drizzly afternoon (what's new?) and I was out with my roommate (as usual.) We went into the shop. We looked around. It was nothing special. She found an interesting clutch bag. It was fairly aesthetically pleasing. Nothing special about it save the ten-thousand pound note that flew out amid fireworks when we opened the bag. She looked at the price tag. 12 pound. Not even a the ten-thousand pound note wanted to buy the bag. It just didn't seem worth it to any of us. Instead, the ten-thousand pound bill befriended the rabbit community and sacrificed itself to buy the rabbits a lifetime supply of carrots and Cadbury roses. The end.

This skirt was not really cheap (7.50) but it was in my size and had a skeleton jewelled zip, bondage straps hanging off it and embroidered stars. Cancer Research is not one of the less expensive charity shop labels, like Scope or British Heart Foundation. It is sad that I know this but this is on the Oxfam price range level. This is quite the find for an part-time Goth. A mini as well. Good times.

Needless to say, I briefly thought of purchasing it. This branch has a good selection with some vintage pieces thrown in. I only buy vintage. Vintage is cooler than thrift. I sometimes buy vintage from 2007 in charity shops, but it is not thrift..It is VINTAGE. Yes Dahling, Vintage 2007. This store also sells Eco seed bars and Divine Chocolate. There is very, very small selection of crap jewellery and a good selection of bags including one hot VINTAGE red one, which is probably 5 years old. I am just so up and coming.

I never really have enough patience for the clothes. Oxfam sell books for really cheap though, less than £3 often and the stock is usually pretty interesting. Good friendly local feel here too - always worth a look.

However, I don't know if I caught someone in a bad mood or 5 minutes before closing, but when I went to drop off clothing to the good cause, I was greeted with a scowl, a door slam and not even a thank you. Absolutely terrible, it also made me want to take back what I had given away and give it to another charity like the Cancer Research UK up the street. I should have if had I not been in shock from the rudest encounter I have ever experienced in the least likely place, a charity shop. It doesn't matter where you work, but customer service is customer service.

As I've written, I love the Marylebone High Street branch of this very deserving cause, having found Louboutins along with clothes by Miu Miu, Malene Birger and others. However, the Islington branch is just a bit too reflective of the tastes of this area's residents. Yes, there are designer pieces to be found, but instead of being by cutting edge labels or cool high street stores they're by Jigsaw, Nicole Farhi, or Karen Millen. And unfortunately that's just not my style...
