First impressions: It's a long narrow shop that goes way way back, like the perspective lesson in art books. Clean. Modern. Cool. Long couch for waiting on the left. Lots of barber chairs on the right. It wasn't packed on a Monday late afternoon. A few barbers were working on a family near the back, but one was unoccupied near the front. I explained that I needed him to repair some work I did myself. Then I took off my hat. Remember that face-melting guy in Raiders of the Lost Ark? My guy was too pro to react, but he got me into a chair and caped-up pretty swiftly. I should have watched him but my glasses were off and I kinda go to sleep-ish during my hair cuts. So I woke up ignorant, with a great fade cut from 00000 to 1 on the back and sides. The price is a fair value for high quality. Tip your hair person well. My guy "Flash" is a young grandmaster barber. I couldn't be more satisfied. I found this place during a drive through my old neighborhood. South siide! My first time with my kids, the other barbers were decent and my boys liked their cuts My experience was really bad, the guy had no curtesy and manners, when he finished my haircut in 3 minutes I asked him if my fade is good he tells me 'I know what I'm doing' which is a really rude response. Secondly I asked him to trim my eyebrows and the guy uses the clippers instead of trimming it with scissors which left my brows looking like mowed lawn. Pls do not get fooled by bright lights and fancy bibs there are many good barbers on Harlem who are excellent and humble.

Wallah this guy would use the machine for a second on my head and then start to converse for the next 30 seconds and thats how the conversation went. Completely clueless as to what the person who is going to pay him has going on. He is beyond rough on your head with the machine. Borderline dangerous with the straight blade. Bro I know I have hair on my ears...dont scrap the GD straight blade on the side of my ears as carelessly as if its not a big deal!! He did the same thing for my unibrow. Mind you - i did not ask for any of these random things. This guy has zero technique. I have so much anger for this guy and all of the things that he did during my hour long transaction with him that i can continue this review for another couple paragraphs.

When we got there Khalid looked at his hair and helped me decide on the style I wanted for my son so he could best cut his hair. During the cut Khalid was so patient w my son. My son is 3. Not only was he patient but he engaged in conversation with me and my son. He spoke to my son in a way a 3 yo would understand. I will be taking him back biweekly here. ! I hope I'm spelling his name correctly. Either way he was great ! I highly recommend.
