Love the old style wood look of place and smells nice of fragrances of old barber shop. Needed a beard trim and shave. Arrived next day and had Angelos from Greece who's been doing hair for 7 years. Has quick consultation and just let him do what he wanted that would look good for me shaggy white beard. I like how neat the stations are setup Got a hot towel. And he buzzed cut and scissors cut as well as straight edge shave. Like the smells of the ointments and shave gels and powdered brush. I liked my trim... Albeit when I got home with my closeup mirror I noticed missed I shaved spots and random stragglers hairs on beard. I had my own scissors and 4 blade shave so just cleaned up and gave an even closer shave. This treatment was €30 euro with $3 tip. Would I do this again? I would scrutinize more whenngettingnoutbodnchairband have cleanup and closer shave rather than feeling stubbles. Today , nice barber personality and great space. I am visiting from Berkeley, California, and I wanted to surprise my girl with a change of scenery after the year and a half we've been together. After breakfast this morning, we parted ways, and when we met up for lunch, she was completely shocked and mesmerized by my new look. When I came in, they greeted me, and then I took my hair and Lorcan's expression let me know I was in the right place. He said I made his day when I told him I wanted to chop it all off and go for a taper. He did amazing job reassuring me that I was gonna look great and that my girl was gonna love it. The shop had a great atmosphere very friendly and hard-working employees. Affordability wasn't even what I was looking for but after calling around, it was definitely the best price in town. Especially with the work I had cut out for him. Unfortunately I leave for Amsterdam in just a few days before returning to the states but if I was a local, he would be my guy for years to come. Visited last week; barber did not listen to what I wanted - no conversation, no interest, just in and out and had to pay through the nose for the extreme disappointment! All around fantastic experience. Walked in with no appointment and was able to get a cut 20 minutes later. Fabio from Brazil is top notch. Loved the attention to detail and next level skills with the shears. I asked for a faded mullet and he crushed it. I checked into Sams Barbers on Ormonde Quay for a beard trim today at 4 O'Clock... I did'nt have a preference when I walked in and got my hedge trimming done to a highly skilled level by a master barber named Blake. Blake has a beard so instantly I felt he knew what he was doing. Anyone with a beard will tell you it can be a nerve wracking experience to entrust your growth to a stranger for scultping. I got a whole beardtrim including a wash, hot towel and a blowdry before and after for €14. Blake also showed me all of the various lotions and potions from his friends beard company and let me have a smell of them before politely offering to adorn my mane with one of the roar scents....err rare scents. Flavours and scents like Sandlewood, Spearmint and orange engulfed my nostrils. I like it when people go the extra mile. Today I got that level of care. I was surprised when the barber told me he was only 22. Judging by his technique and the level of knowledge he confidently displayed I would have assumed he was around 30. I would definitely recommend a trip to Sams for anyone looking to have their Beard crafted into something to be proud of. I always leave it a little too long to return, I should really reel in my time between visits. A 16 year old boy asked me "Would you like to buy some Weed pal?" On the walk home. Being a person who shaves his own head, This will probably my only review for a hair salon, I expect. I was recently invited for a complimentary hot towel shave in Sam's. I have to say, it was very enjoyable. Stephen spent the guts of 3/4 hour gently shaving my face and then passed me on to a lovely Japanese/Canadian girl named Katie for an indian head massage. 10/10 for service, friendliness and banter. I walked by this place a few times before actually deciding to book, the rockabilly look with 25 different Pomades and other such products made me a bit uneasy, and I was expecting it to be pricey. One day I was looking just a bit too ghastly, and a trim was in order, so I decided to make a booking for Sam's. I waited no more than a couple of minutes, got offered a beer, and had an extremely attentive and professional service. My hair was cut (ok... I don't have a lot of hair... but still...), and my beard was trimmed perfectly and left shiny and pleasantly smelling by the weird concoctions these guys use. A beard trim and a clipper haircut set me back 15€, a very nice deal for the overall experience. I've returned since then, and I'm convinced I didn't just have a lucky first experience. I've had two excellent cuts and one awesome hot shave from SAMs. On my first visit, they were nice enough to take me without an appointment after having only waited five minutes. I was offered coffee water or a beer which I found to be a nice touch. The hot shave and hair cut took about 90 mins and I felt like a new man afterwards. I though the €60 was a bargain considering how much time the staff spent with me, and how great I felt afterward. Today I only got a haircut, but I left very satisfied and relaxed. Dropped in here for a much needed cleanup at the end of my vacation. Even though I came in as they were getting near closing, the staff were courteous and pleasant. Sams is a brilliant hairdressers for men. It costs 25euro for a cut, yes alot more than a typical barbers where you could pay 5 euros but the quality of the cut and how good you'll look afterwards is more than worth the money. Sams is the one place I always come out not regretting having visited unlike other barber I have been. The staff are very professional and know what they're doing if you want colour or highlights, and offer services like chemical straightening. Perks of visiting Sams is when you get your hair washed you will recieve a head massage and also they constantly offer you a drink while you have your cut... and you can ask for a beer not just a cup of tea! I am really quite astounded to see some suspiciously excellent reviews for this business. I had a haircut today and the haircut its is fine, not the best and not too bad either. What I found so awful is the staff and the price, €30 for a cut. The barber I had was rude, very unattentive (flirting with female hostess throughout my whole hair cut). He seemed so 'above it all' with his self-absorbed, man-bun adorned attitude. Very vain sort of vacuous hipster type who really shouldn't be dealing with people all day without the proper manners and customer service skills. He spoke two sentences to me during the whole cut. Normally I like a quiet cut but it was irritating considering this particular situation. After I paid the overpriced fee of €30, I asked for my bag and he just waved me away to go fetch it myself from a cupboard and turned his back on me without a goodbye. Honestly awful from start to finish. The other Sam's Barber on Dame Lane has a vastly superior atmosphere with very nice staff - a shame one branch of a chain is so good and the other is so poor.
