I came here a few times just to peep the frames and ask questions about the eye Dr. The staff really like their Dr here. I've enjoyed my dr at sams in my home town and tried the local Costco. Originally I was told conflicting stories when it comes to lengths of prescriptions. I'm middle aged no insurance so I'm selective when it comes to shopping for health services. I noticed that by history my eyes have not changed much over the past 25 years. one eye did improve by .5 diopter. But I'll leave it at that. You don't have to own a Snellen chart to do a simple home "screening" just hold a book or phone text out to view and close one eye at a time. If your need professional and informative eye care. I highly recommend Sams. Not only because of price. But this Dr (Ryan Demaris .) . Is informative and pretty much did 90% of my testing without the use of optical techs. I spent a good 80 minutes with him and 10 minutes with the optical tech selecting frames. The only test he had the tech do was measuring pupillary distances and elevation onto the lens. The store has almost everything, and everyone wears a mask (unlike the Waukesha location) much safer here Remember when you're getting gas, you can pull up on any side of the pump because they have the extra long hose The only issue I had is when I did scan-to-pay with their raspberries, the item wasn't in the database. This is a new store with mostly old reviews. Any review dated before late 2016 refers to the previous location at Calumet & 76'th St. Obviously, the new location is a much nicer facility since it's a brand new build. But, it still has some issues that justify my 3 star rating. My biggest complaint are the narrow lanes & tiny parking spots in the giant parking lot. Hey Sam's, take a look at your competitor Costco for parking lot design! Sam's started with a blank canvas, the parking spots & lanes should be wider. Two oncoming cars can't pass if there is a person in the area pushing a cart along the isles edge. The small parking spots aren't that big of a deal for me, I park out in the sticks to avoid door dings anyway. My other issue is the entrance/exit from Bradley Rd. It routes you to the front of the store where 2 other busy lanes converge. I was at Sam's on a Tuesday morning & the front of the store was at a standstill with gridlock with only 6 cars & a few shoppers passing through. It's got to be a cluster F during a much busier weekend. The store itself is well organized, very clean & stocked to the ceiling with goods. Sam's does have more product choices than Costco. Sam's beef selection is all certified Angus, a better quality meat than your regular bovine. I still like Costco better. But, I will keep both memberships! read more

Decided to stop here instead of Costco this afternoon. Big mistake! Husband needed a new garmin gps for his business. Went through self checkout per normal. Waited and waited for the young lady to come back from God knows where. Asked her to get it out of the locked cage, she looked at the cardboard I handed to her. She throws it in a shopping cart with other items to be restocked, goes and gets the gps and shoves it in my hand and walks away. When we went to the exit we told the lady checking receipts that we won't be back and she says, WHAT?To my husband you are here all the time! Stopped into this Sam's Club last evening. Though I've come to expect the mediocrity that is to be accompanied by anything under the WalMart umbrella, this was a low point. Let me preface this by stating that I do not pay to be a Sam's member, however, that our membership is gifted to us. There's no way that my husband and I could blow through a 80 gallon jug of ranch, 2000 pickle spears or a 3 gallon pale of coleslaw to make the membership worth it. I digress. Last night we stopped in for two things. TWO. Both of which were always available in the West Allis store that much like a traveling gypsy was here one day, gone the next.... We needed the large box of Truvia (400 count). I can justify this one. Two cups of coffee a day, 365 days a year, blah blah blah you get the point. And PB Fit (powdered peanut butter) - which seriously put this s*it on everything. We head down the aisle where the Truvia should be located. A younger gentleman who appears to be the manager explains that "his store" doesn't carry the Truvia so recommends a lifetime supply of Pure Sugar packets. 'Scuse me sir, not the same. He states that corporate hasn't ordered than any. We move on. I need my peanut butter. Stroll down the PB aisle. No PB. Okay. Nope. I'm about to abandon my cart and stomp out like a 2 year old who was told they couldn't have anymore ice cream. Husband to the rescue...I'm off the ledge at this point so we go back to the man in the sweater vest. The man tells us that he's going to order some, but that corporate doesn't realize how big his store actualize is and hasn't let him yet. I'm sorry "my store!"? Wow. I am talking to Sam himself. Such an honor. I walk out with a box of dog treats and coffee. The disappointment continues and Amazon Prime is my only comfort. read more

Worst Sam's Club in the area. Many items out of stock. Tables look like a Tornado came thru. Lines horrible. People with $700 orders in self checkout, no option for 10-15 items or less. Stood in line to get a hotdog & was told it would be 20 minutes? Asked to pay & wait until the hotdogs were done & I was told I couldn't pay & wait... I'd have to get back in line? What? I work nearby and we have a corporate account, so I spend more time here than I'd like to admit. Sometimes it's a little hectic and it feels like you can't find anyone that works there, but for the most part, the staff is helpful, the place is clean and I don't spend hours in line, which I think is the best you can say about a Sam's Club. My biggest complaint is the sometimes inexplicable lack of items or high prices. I've gone a few times looking for what I'd call standard produce (tomatoes, green peppers, onions) and either they've been out or I've paid more than I'd have paid at Sendik's, which is really not the point of Sam's, you know? I, too, like the Business Membership, meaning I can shop earlier, before the masses. The bakery has done us well. They're cheap. They're quick. You know what you're going to get. I'm picking up 700+ cupcakes from them today, so my opinion might change, but so far they've handled everything from a half sheet cake to 48 dozen cookies. read more

This is the place you need to go to get your prescription right the first time. I made the mistake of going to one business that honored my vision insurance for my exam, and then taking the prescription to another to get the glasses. Turned out that the prescription was too far off to wear the glasses. Sam's club Optical in the new location at 8050 N. 124th St., Milwaukee, WI (across the street from Woodman's), retested my eyes and remade my lenses (which they had made and I had paid for based on my incorrect diagnosis from the other ($$$) vision center), for only a $20.00 examination fee. My quarterly trips here are invariable marred by the really poor check out experience. Sometimes the clerks are not surly, but they often are. During the business member only hours -- for which you pay a premium -- the lines are hopeless because the store is understaffed. I know what I am going shopping for, so the savings are adequate. But when I look at other items, they are generally not a wonderful price. read more

Son, I am dissapoint. I was drawn in by the LivingSocial deal, and while I now have a one-year membership, I really couldn't care less if I didn't return to this location. First, it took forever to set up a membership. I consider myself to be quite patient and understanding in situations like this, having worked in retail myself, but it was kind of ridiculous. I was then surprised by how small the store actually is. My husband and I did the grand tour in about 10 minutes and didn't really find anything that would make it worth a trip here instead of our normal grocery store. Checking out other people's carts, it unfortunately seems Sam's Club thrives on selling mostly processed and junk food. It was actually a little shocking to see how much crap can fit in one shopping cart. :( The biggest thing though, is that from the minute we walked in the door, I just had this general feeling of unpleasantness; a feeling quite similar to when I used to go to the Walmart on Capitol and Holton, which I know many people can understand. The staff here are attentive and always stop to answer my questions. I am extremely impressed. I have never experienced such super customer service before especially at a Sam's club. I usually can't find anyone to help me. I used them for my Christmas pictures this year. After researching many other online offers, Sam's had the best deal and a quality of photos and very nice thick envelopes that did not taste bad to lick shut. Important quality in an envelope when licking over 100. The price was 33 cents a print. Look them up if you are still looking to send out Christmas pictures this year. WHY ARE THERE NEVER ANY DAMN CHURROS?? Why is there a menu for 99 cent churros at the cafe but they are never available? Why are venders preying on innocent shoppers right near the entrance? I see both sides of the review. It's okay. Sometimes it's crowded, sometimes it's not. I had good cashiers and indifferent cashiers. But that's the case at a lot of store. Prices are decent enough to make me drive 20 minutes to get there. Not sure what is up with the churros though. They are never ready when I'm there. read more

It was a zoo, and the lines were super long. But hey did have someone pre-scan the items so when I got to the register, they just had to scan the card and the total appears. Went in on Wednesday and ordered five bags of yeast rolls to be picked up at 10:00 on Saturday morning. It was for our wedding reception that afternoon. When we went to the bakery to pick them up, no one could find the order. The girl suggested we talk to the manager. He was useless! Wanted us to buy day old rolls.
