We had the great fortune to come at 6:45, so we were able to sample the best of both worlds. The espresso is strong and pungent, just the way I like it. The drinks, though, stole the show. Given their multi-purposes, some of the drinks are coffee based, my faves. The namesake Patolli is an espresso martini topped with espresso beans. Yum. If you want to go sweeter, we also tried the gin alexander, which is haunting my wife's dreams. It is a creamy caffe-gin based drink with orange notes. She called it a creamy dreamsicle delight. I also had a peanut old fashioned, which I loved. The drinks are expertly mixed here, so you can feel safe that, no matter what you order, you are in good hands. The drinks are served with a side dish of herbal-flavored corn nuts, a tasty treat. The space is small and hipsterish, but it's pretty cool. We were incredibly appreciative that, although we were the only dopes there who couldn't speak a word of German (besides Hallo), they were very kind and gracious in serving us.

It's small inside with only two baristas slinging drinks. The vibes are chill and there's plenty of seating outside. The music is great; surprised they were playing some Jurassic 5. There's a bunch of coffee and tea options (prices ranged from €1,90 to €3,80) along with a few specials. There's also a couple of pastries but we didn't see any (probably were sold out). If you come often, you can get a loyalty card. Also saw someone buy a bag of coffee beans for under €10,00. - Flat white (€3,60) - hard to beat an Australian flat white but this was down surprisingly well. Smooth and balanced. Chill spot to grab a coffee or two.

A recent hipster discovery, that has been served in cafes around Australia for the last 20 odd years and now, making its way to locations around US and Europe :-) It's a flat white and not that exciting really :-)) I used to drink it once in a while when I lived in Australia...punkt ;-)) The coffee here is good albeit mine was luke warm, something I just don't like about coffee. I don't need it to be boiling hot but a cappuccino needs to be warm enough not to be able to drink it in one gulp and, this one was unfortunately was not one of those :-( The place is nice with all the hipster accessories like fresh filtered coffee in individual bodum's and drip coffee etc ;-)) They also have a range of exotic teas and bit of food to round it all out. They also sell JB coffee here, which I understand, is a good local roaster. The staff lacked the warmth and just did not engage you in any way shape or form. Ok they were busy but a smile will often do :-) For me small local business is more than just the product, it's also about the personal nature of the place. We have that plenty in our local area. I will give this another go and see. Knowing the area well, my local coffee shop is way better and, there is no shortage of really nice coffee shops with a smile in our neighborhood ;-))

Once of the things I look forward to trying are the cooking classes which are done regularly there with the addition of wine to drink while cooking...

We all decided to meet...and, I can affirm Sabine H knows her stuff. What a wonderful recommendation :) If you are familiar with Blue Bottle, Stumptown, etc in the States...Vits Kaffee will please your coffee-feigning palate just perfectly. If you aren't? Well, you're in for a treat, too! It's actually quite a large spot with many seating options, and very convenient to public transportation. Arriving around 2pm, our mellow group took over the back corner with couches. I think its meant for kids (some toys/games) but also really nice for a group of 7 or so to catch up and have some extremely lovely coffee. By 4pm all the tables were filled with weekend revelers....and the din elevated significantly. The sound was a bit loud, but very congenial and jovial. My two drinks: a cappuccino (swan milk foam art!) and a hot cocoa (this one came with a bear!). I actually preferred the hot cocoa, very rich and dark and such an indulgent treat. Some key points: *they roast in-house. It smells divine. *They have an extensive menu that describes all of the beans and procedures, and even information on how you can learn to make the milk foam designs! This may be motivation enough to learn German. So I can make milk foam like teddy bear faces. It really does make the experience better, it does! *table service or counter service is available. Our server was very helpful, and several stopped by to make sure our group had everything we needed. *cash or german bank cards only.
