You can expect good and polite service and some of the best Indian food available anywhere in the UK. It's not a big restaurant, so it gets a bit busy on Fridays and Saturdays, but if you have to wait a few minutes for a table, it's well worth the wait. What I really liked was the crisp vegetables and the really good flavours but don't expect luxury, it is very basic but clean and modern. The service was fine but a bit detached and the coke I had was a little warm - the few cubes of ice melted rapidly! No one who I've gone with has ever had anything but praise for the noodles and so I would recommend Yaki - it is well worth a try if you are ever in Barking and easy to find, you can see it from the station entrance!

I found several boxes of vegan dinners still left so I opted for the "no meat Mondays" choice. Paying at the back with their touchscreen system was seamless and efficient. The box consisted of several tofu slabs drizzled in teriyaki sauce + sesame seeds atop a mix of grains and greens. The carb source was rice. The veggies were broccoli, edamame, red bell pepper cubes, raw baby spinach leaves, pickled carrots and several slices of ripe but firm avocado. The sesame dressing was packed with the box inside a small container so one can add the right amount. The mix of veggies had the right amount of freshness and crunch. The avocado complemented the tofu and rice well. A healthy but tasty meal.

I often buy a packet of rice crackers to nibble on the go if I'm trying to be extra healthy. They're good at offering the nutritional information of their food, but I was told that the salad calorie amount is BEFORE you add the dressing, which seems a bit sneaky to me because of course you're going to add it, that's what makes it taste so great!

But that worked in our favour as they were extremely attentive and efficient. Here, there is the satisfying richness that comes from long, patient simmering of pork bones but it had an odd thick consistency, almost like a roux had been mixed in to thicken the mixture. For the main, I got the pork tobanyaki - pork and mixed vegetables marinated in spicy chilli sauce. It was nicely spiced with thin strips of pork and vegetables (onions and peppers mostly). I ate mine without the white rice that others ordered. Portion was generous, particularly after all the starters. The staff did a great job of keeping up, despite us wanting separate checks (thanks to different companies' travel policies).

The only off note is that probably in an effort to be generous on the sushi portion, the salmon and tuna (but not the bass) were quite thickly cut. Of course no authentic Japanese restaurant will ever serve a portion of four (which would have been the way to provide similar weight of fish and more expected sensation)... so I guess that's a minor quibble. If I were a regular, I'd be tempted to go ahead and order the larger 5-pieces, and ask the chef to cut 6-7 thinner pieces.
