My Aunt had this teacher who has really mean and kept on putting her name up and my cousin wasn't doing anything and she wasn't putting any other students name like what?? I have witnessed so many horrible things at the schools in this district. I've seen students being…read morepunished in harsh ways. Getting their property confiscated and thrown away. Physically grabbed by staff. I've even heard staff swearing and yelling at students. Many teachers here are cranky and rude. The worst person employed in this district is the principal of Sunnyslope because he isn't a decent human being at all. Avoid sending your children to that school.

The values this school holds kids to are something that is missing from other schools in the area. They have a zero tolerance level and I am thankful for that. The communication between parent and teacher is outstanding. If there were any issues with my kids I received an email or phone call right away. Teachers recognized when my boys were struggling in ELA and offered to place in an after school tutoring program to work on their weaknesses. All the teachers are amazing and I would recommend this school to all. I feel so lucky my kids were able to attend school here.

The bus driver told my son his dad isn't really his dad and kicked him of the bus with no prior written warnings which is in their handbook. I had to call the superintendent to have things sorted out and it put a bullseye on my back. Since then, things have gone downhill. Just recently when I wouldn't just accept that they railroaded me with a surprise meeting in which they talked about how they can't handle my son right in front of him, they decided to take it even father. I won't go in to specifics, but unless you want to comply with their ridiculous standards for looks, not for academics, be prepared to have your whole world changed. These people have done nothing but judge me and my son and it's wrong. I can't wait to be done with this school. My son's teacher went on maternity leave early on and the woman that subbed for her was just incompetent and I feel as though she's partially why my son is now academically stunted. She wasn't sending home more than 2 sheets of homework and didn't know how to properly discipline my son and another boy who don't get along. My son has picked up on the fact that if he's disruptive, they'll send him to the office and he takes advantage of it because they talk and laugh and joke with him which he loves. I'm just really sick of the fake, catty, judgemental stuff and hope the end of the year comes quickly.

I have to say, I love Calaveras K-8 school and the entire staff. Recently the district rezoned and…read morethat meant my child after only attending Calaveras was to go to a new school. I was not in favor of that; nor was he. No longer having bus transportation, we drive him everyday so he can continue his education at Calaveras. The principal, Christine White and Resource Coordinator, Andy Parra are excellent; extremely helpful and very approachable. All Calaveras staff; office, lunch, maintenance, etc. are stellar; and the teachers, well, I can't praise them enough; all have been excellent. My daughter just graduated from 8th grade at Calaveras and my son is attending the Achievement Academy this year and loving it. I wouldn't change anything. Thank you CALAVERAS.

Since this place is only a few blocks away from several of my friends' houses, I've spent a fair…read morebit of time here over my years in Hollister. It's a pretty nice park, except that it has tanbark, so shoes are definitely a must. The swings are very nice, and abundant (six swings, if I remember correctly). The play structures (there are three) are all relatively decent, if generic. There is a nice, huge grass area for sportsplay/picnics, and blacktop for basketball games (there are hoops), hopscotch, dodgeball, what-have-you. There is an official entrance near the expanse of grass, but I don't think I've ever used it. Most locals just enter through the gap between the chain link fence and the school building in the parking lot on Cerra Vista Road. It's been there for years, and no one's ever bothered to fix it.
