Nice to have sides!

Bland chips and watered down margaritas. Great if love spicy food. But they do have great selection of fish! Reasonable service. Hard to hear in crowded.

The most authentic Mexican food you will find in Carson city NV. Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed .

Quality/Quantity - Support local. Another good find. Chicken Tortilla Bowl - Interesting flavor, very different from most chicken tortilla soups we typically eat/drink. Not bad or good, just different; see picture. Brought half of it home and added pasta which made this soup even better. Asada Fajita - Overall good, fresh, and piping hot. So make sure you stir the entree before it burns. Well unless you enjoy eating that char. I also like the fact that we had the option to have 1/2 and 1/2 tortillas, both corn and flour. Thank you. Decent size menu, but we are light eaters and were not hungry when we got here. But it was getting late and I knew we needed to eat. Ambiance - Huge, I mean a HUGE place. It just kept going and going. My pictures do NOT do it justice. I think this is actually 4 units?!? Do you own this building? And of course it was packed yesterday; happy holidays. Slow, but consistent flow for lunch today. Decent size bar area; again, my pictures did not do it justice. Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm, happy hour from 4pm to 6pm. Service - Good. Checked on us several times by all 3 team members. Easy in and out. Price - $36 + generous tip. Reasonably priced. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2007.

Amazing bean dip with chips complementary

What a hidden gem. This Mexican restaurant is located in a shopping center off the main road in Carson City. It has a very relaxed, casual authentic vibe. Service was great last night even with a full house! I ordered two a la cart shredded beef tacos with cilantro You can't beat the price of 3.99 per taco . It's loaded with shredded beef, salsa, lettuce, little cheese and lots of cilantro! Delicious My daughter ordered a mini Carna Asada burrito and a chicken tacos. She loved the wet burrito. The flavor was spot on. They served refried beans with chips complementary and on the table. The refried beans are delicious. We noticed the table beside us ordered guacamole and it was made in front of them. Very impressive. I saw the waitress add fresh seasonings, lime, tomatoes... a must for me next time!

Pina Margarita

Very expensive, it was over $100 for 3 people with only one alcoholic beverage, which was $17, but delicious. The Quesabirria tacos are amazing. Guac table side is fun; made exactly the way you like, to order. Nachos were pretty loaded. The inside is really fun. Good place for a girls night!

Lengua tacos , salmon tacos, black beans, rice. Carrot habanero salsa say whaaaaa?

Ok... hold on. Let me catch my breath! San Marcos grill is the BEST in Carson. I like spicy and the carrot habanero salsa caught me off guard in the best way. Carrots? Habanero? How spicy and creative! Kudos to the chef! My first time here I tried the lengua taco plate and by recommendation the salmon tacos! You guys. You need to be here. I feel so bad that I'm eating here after ordering and asking them to put in to go boxes but they are giving us our time and letting us enjoy our experience! Best restursunt staff and owners EVER!

The Pineapple Margarita

Just visited this place for the first time and what a great find! We were promptly greeted at the door, seated and served chips with a salsa and a bean dip. The bean dip is so good. I could have just eaten that for the night and been happy. They have a huge menu with lots of options. I chose the lobster enchiladas and they were served with a tomatillo and garlic suiza sauce that was absolutely delicious. My friend had the Bistec con nopales (steak with cactus) and said it was perfectly seasoned. The beef and cactus were both tender and flavorful. I also tried their pineapple margarita. It came with lots of fresh pineapple slices and was very refreshing. I will definitely be going back to try one of the many other creative menu items and support this family-owned business.

Shrimp mango romain salad.

I decided to finally try a couple tacos. The lengua was plentiful but dry. I found myself missing El Taconzo's tacos in Sparks, these cubes were not pan fried and only a couple white onion pieces. Lacking. Nice to have the Orange Roughy taco. I can't eat cabbage so they were glad to substitute with lettuce. This is a good meal for me. Plenty right there. Like a fish salad. I need to remember to ask for sin salsa. I always love their iced tea. It's really good!

Ask the Community - San Marcos Grill

Is the restaurant open again? A sign on the door said it was closed for renovations and opening Oct 1. I have called the restaurant phone number a couple of times and there is no answer.

It's the 15th of October, right around the corner, excited to see the new place!

On this occasion, we were celebrating the birthday of a close friend. Our party of 10 had plenty of room in one of the back rooms with gorgeous views out the windows. We started the evening with a healthy round of appetizers, including Calamari, Roast Duck and a plate of Mussels. While I didn't partake in the Mussels, I will say the Calamari was good but the Roast Duck was truly amazing. Such great flavor, cooked to a tender doneness and topped with a sweet sauce. The bread roll that preceded the appetizers was something special. Warm and wrapped in paper, it was like opening a Christmas present. The bread was soft, warm and delicious. Seriously good. I ordered a Prime Rib, one of the evenings specials. It was a generous portion, served with potatoes and veggies. The Prime Rib was cooked perfectly (Medium Rare ofcourse) with the right amount of marbleing and seasoning. This was perhaps one of the best, most flavorful Prime Ribs I have had in recent memory. My wife ordered the Macadamia Crusted Sea Bass. The fish was breaded and topped with the delicious Macadamia nuts. The fish was light and flaky with a wonderful outer snap. A perfect blend of textures and flavors. I would definitely order this again. My friends mother ordered the Lobster and Filet, Glen Eagle's version of Surf and Turf. I don't know if she realized just how big a 1 1/2 pound (24oz) Lobster really was. This thing was HUGE. Like some giant sea creature. The Filet while a generouse portion, looked puny by comparison. She said the Lobster was a amazing but in full transparency, most of it when home. :-) We had a big party and the restaurant was quite full by the time we left. This did not deter our server nor the bus staff. The staff was attentive, ensuring our waters and drinks were always full. With the orders of appetizers, it felt like there was a steady stream of food. Never felt like we ever waited. I know understand why Glen Eagle's is a favorite amoungst the locals, atleast those in the know. If you get a chance to visit Carson City, be sure to make time to dine at Glen Eagle's.

Every room has its own charm, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes the dining experience feel special. The staff were incredible friendly, welcoming, and attentive from the moment we arrived. The menu is impressive, but don't overlook the extensive list of specials. Portions are extremely generous. Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The only reason for four stars instead of five was that the shrimp served with the halibut was overcooked, and the soup arrived only slightly warm rather than piping hot. The drinks were well made, there's plenty of convenient parking out front, and it's easy to see why Glen Eagles has remained a Carson City favorite for so many years. It's a local institution that's absolutely worth a visit.

I almost canceled, but we went anyway. Those reviews were nothing like what we experienced. The only thing I can imagine with those negative reviews must be just a Smear campaign from a former disgruntled employee. Who knows? For us, the evening was perfect. Great GREAT staff, and the food was everything you could hope for in a prime Stakehouse. I ordered the 16 oz. Prime rib, and she ordered the small Filet mignon. We chose the Albondigas Soup and baked potatoes. Everything was cooked perfectly. The meal came with a selection of two breads in the basket they brought out when we sat down. Even the vegetables were cooked tender crisp. We tasted each other's dinners and both were great. I'd recommend this restaurant to any who want a real steak dinner. Nice Job everyone!

Today's soup special with your meal was potatoes and ham. OMG delicious. I could have eaten this for my meal. Hubby subbed a wedge salad for his mixed greens salad. No mention from the waiter of it going to be full price either, vs a subbed item!! Hubby ordered the 6oz filet medium (cooked perfect) with a loaded baked potato. that was good. Green beans and 2 pieces of carrot for the veg. Not really upscale veggies and the green beans were very tough. I ordered the Chilean sea bass. I wanted to get the creamed spinach, but he told me it would be full price. Ok no biggie so I opted for the house veggies that come with it. Now for my potato option, I wanted the mascarpone mashed potatoes, no mention of the fact it would be full price!! Don't understand why as he mentioned it about the creamed spinach. Same as he did not mention the wedge would be full price. My meal was great except for the fact, there was about 1/2 the sauce as it had last year. So the fish was dry once the sauce was gone. Over 1/2 of the fish was without, but this cup of mascarpone mash was not worth the 8.00 they charged for it. Now here is the other problem. A really nice couple sat across from our table. I am guessing our waiter knew them for great tips etc as they were very very friendly. He boxed their meals for them. Not us, a bus helper by the name of Azul, super super sweet and helpful since our waiter was mostly absent. He stopped and talked to them often. So as this is happening, we are left waiter-less. We had to call him several times to get things we needed with our meal and a forgot to order, order of mushrooms. He came by 1 time after our food was delivered to bring us our Anniversary desert, (a good 15 to 20 minutes) after our to go bags sat on the table for a good 10 minutes. He dropped it and took off. Now the couple by us he definitely knew.. They came in after us and left before us by a good 10 minutes each way!. I hate this as we have been coming here for a good 4-5 years now. 1 or 2 times a year. Fixed incomes here. After we finally received our check, we were charged full price for both the wedge salad and the mascarpone potatoes. Well here went our great night. Hubby called for the manager, and he removed those charges as we were not made aware of them 1st off. Manager was also told, wait staff should inform of any full charge. Now this little electric pay crap was handed to us to pay the bill. Ummm I do not work here, nor should I with what we are being charged. Not sure if a tip was left or not as I was totally confused on it, and once again, waiter was not there to help us. Pretty sure, we will not be back!!! Such a shame too In the Carson City area, this was our go to place for a nice meal. THEY ALSO TOOK AWAY THE TRUFFLES

So, my local friend wanted to take me to this Thai restaurant right down on the main street in downtown, if Carson has an actual downtown that is. We got parking right in front of the place on the main street. Inside is nice and elegant in a Thai kinda way. Nicer than a casual mom and pop Thai joint. We get seated at a nice table near the front. My friend already knows the menu, so I go with hos suggestion for the Lunch special Duck with sauce over rice. It's $22 bucks, so it better be good! He has the Thai battered salmon for around $19. Soup is included and it's just a veggie broth, though tasty. Then our lunch specials come out. Oh wow, that duck look really good. It's totally deboned, so no messing with bones at all. The sauce was super tasty. My friend said he thinks its some sort of duck juice reduction with other added stuff. Whatever, this was one of the most tasty duck dishes I've ever had. His salmon was unique, I never saw a dish like that made with salmon. The coating was very unique and crispy and the salmon not over cooked. Overall, I really liked this place. I think my crew is having lunch at one of the local casinos, I'd rather be here!
