Terrible!! Poor service! They were not busy. We were seated then it took 5-8 minutes to take our drink order. Then placed our order. Also ordered cheese dip. It was never brought to us. But I was charged for it and didn't know until had already paid. I told the employee at front desk to tell the waiter he didn't get a tip b/c he charged me for cheese dip that he never gave us! I called in my order for pick up and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later and it was not ready. Turns out someone else had taken my order and they had to remake it. I waited 30 minutes for the new order. Then I get home and it was not as I was expecting. I had gotten a taco salad with fajita chicken. It was extremely greasy and not really any salad. We live nearby and have always bought to go sides of rice ( as well as eat there quite often) for my grandson.. the packages were full enough he could never eat it all in one sitting, since Covid the portions are about 1/2 full.. brought it to managers attention., he says it's the same, never changed.. won't go there anymore, price increases and smaller portions and NO SERVICE ! read more

The family went for my sons birthday on 12/20/2021. This was our second and our last trip to this establishment. My husband ordered the garlic shrimp and rice and 15 minutes after his last bite he had to leave. He was very I'll from what he ate. The parking space next to his vehicle was a third of the way full with vomit. When the owner os San Marcos was notified he stated it wasn't his problem. Sir, if you own a restaurant and your patron gets sick from the food that came out of your kitchen, then Ye, it is your problem. Small, quaint & clean. This is your everyday American Mexican place. What sets this restaurant apart from the others is the amount of food you get for your money. My goodness the amount of food. I got a steak quesadilla dinner for $6.75 and little did I know it came with two quesadillas and rice and beans. The quesadilla was filled with cheese, grilled onions, grilled tomatoes and steak. It was so yummy! I glanced at the drink menu and the margaritas weren't back either. The other thing that really stood out to me was how clean inside it was. I kind of consider myself a connoisseur of flautas and chile relleno and this place was not on the top of the list of the best ones I've ever had. Flautas are made with flour tortillas but these were made with corn and the chicken inside was dry. Usually there's a poblano pepper with the relleno but it was a green pepper. And even though the menu prices are on the web from a link from Yelp the owner stated that she did not honor those prices and didn't know how they got there. Honestly cannot say enough good things about San Marcos! The street tacos are my new fav, but honestly, I've never had anything off the menu that wasn't excellent. The staff is very attentive and quick to get your food out to you. They keep check on you throughout the meal and make sure the chips and drinks are never empty. The only reason it gets two stars is the service was good. Tea was always refilled promptly. The food on the other hand - UGH! My shrimp smelled bad and the cheese enchilada tasty funky (& not in a good way). There are too many other choices for Mexican food in the area to settle for poor quality food. This is now are go to Mexican restaurant. I love that they offer cheese dip with or without jalapeños, either way it is delicious. The service is fast and friendly and the food is very good. The selection is not very big average Mexican foods no authentic Mexican foods. Definitely try the chorizo dip. It is delicious and they give you copious amounts. read more

The waiter had a very hard time understanding what we wanted. When it arrived my faluta was crisp but tasteless, the chile relleno had no flavor and looked like refried beans. I finally found a bit of pepper underneath the mixture but it was completely raw, the taco was the least disappointing but didn't have much in the way of fillings. My tea was way too sweet. Thankful I'd asked for extra lemons. I ordered a side of beans but I was half finished with the meal by the time they came out, they too were tasteless. Everything was just barely warm. I won't go back. I could have just stuck a match to that ten dollar bill and been as satisfied as I was with my meal. I did leave a good tip. read more
