Paul is a such great coach. Since we moved from Seattle to Bay Area, I only took several session every thing improved a lot! I realized I should try one handed (even though Paul might disagree lol), but since then my shoulder started hurting also by wist. My kids have gone through many different group tennis lessons over the years, and while they always enjoyed the classes they never seemed to progress to a basic rallying level even at 10 and 13. I decided to try giving private lessons a shot to see if that would help and hit up Coach Paul who was able to squeeze them into his busy schedule. That first session wasn't pretty; my kids' shots were all over the place, their grip and stance incorrect, and I'm sure the coach was wondering what kind of crack lessons I was sending my kids to previously that led to their bad practices. But by the end of the first lesson he had gotten them to start getting their shots more focused and now that we are a few more lessons in I can see incredible improvement to the point where I can finally do a rally with them vs just picking up balls. Coach Paul isn't one to sugarcoat things and he will quickly point out if their form or swing is wrong, and then help them adjust. This has helped my kids remain focused and work hard at getting their shots right. He offers good encouragement that gets them excited for their next lesson. I've always wanted some private tennis coaching to improve my game as I know I have some bad habits from my high school days. I was lucky enough to meet Coach Paul and schedule a lesson shortly after. He is professional and friendly whether it's on the court or off the court. Going into my first lesson, we addressed the basics where he analyzed my forehand and backhand and was able to pinpoint where I need to make adjustments. This just shows how attentive he is and these adjustments really helped me improve. This is especially true when we got to working on my serve! I've never felt confident in serving but after his coaching, I now have a first and second serve! I can already see immediate results after each lesson. He also makes the lessons fun by giving you different types of balls - long, short, left, right. It's never a dull moment as he really keeps you moving and on your toes. So not only am I improving my technique, but I'm also improving on my stamina. I also love that Paul is active veteran in the USTA league and shares gameplay strategies from his experience. We even got to practice serve and return which is helpful to put everything we've worked on into action. These lessons are super rewarding and I am looking forward to the next one! It turned out to be one stroke that could level up my game given that I have a not very reliable one hand backhand.
