There's not a lot to this county- it's mainly flat coastal land, with lots of agriculture, where they grow cotton, soy, and sometimes sorghum. This county was originally settled by the Irish, who teamed up with the Mexican government to settle here, so there was a heavy Irish Catholic influence here. But when the Texas Revolution started, many of them fled. After the war, many returned, and that's why it's Saint Patrick County, named after the patron saint of Ireland.
