Sanctuary Cigars is an excellent lounge offering a large humidor and three different rooms with their individual vibes. I was not able to gauge the cigar prices, because I was not given a receipt. You walk into the space with the cash register in front bridging the front room to your right and the large humidor to your left. This is the largest humidor selection I have seen in Montgomery to date. You think you know what a given brand offers and then see Sanctuary carries a wider range of a given brand than you have commonly seen. The front room to the right offers plenty of comfortable seating conducive to conversation with what appears to be a gas driven fireplace for a very nice atmosphere. This is the best looking room in the house. The second room to the right as you walk further into the space is smaller and where you'll want to watch whatever games or matches on screen. A bit further on your left is the clean restroom. All the way back is the last room, second in size to the front room, but some seating will not be able to see the flatscreen. This room could use another flatscreen. Sanctuary is a very comfortable lounge space offering a great selection in the humidor. This is not a BYOB cigar lounge. They have a pretty good selection of liquor, but the pours appear a bit smaller than one is accustomed. The rates on the menu are reasonable, topping off around $18 if memory serves me well and some are absolutely fantastic at $7. Service is friendly and welcoming at Sanctuary. They close a bit earlier than I would like, but they want to run a tight ship at this lounge. That can be good and bad. On balance, this lounge offers the East Side of Montgomery a comfortable space and a well stocked humidor. Four stars! read more

This was very welcome surprise for a midday moment to work and relax. The cigar selection was top notch. Carried a lot of higher end sticks. The manager was a gracious host exhibiting great hospitality and expertis. The GM was on site and was also extremely friendly. The lounge was clean and with superb ventilation. Sanctuary Cigars is home to Alabama's largest humidor and boy is it true. It's to the left as you walk in and you'll soon be met with a huge variety of cigars. Unfortunately I didn't find my Jericho Hills but I walked away with several of my favorites. The staff were very attentive and friendly. If I wasn't in a rush I for sure would've enjoyed the lounge that they have. This shop is in a great location and I for sure recommend it if you're looking to buy or just sit and enjoy some cigars. read more

As a Travel Nurse I've been to Cigar Lounges up and down the East Coast and in the South. This spot here is definitely top Five! The Cigar Selection is Pretty Good. Would have liked to seen a couple more Boutique Cigars, but saying that, they had a bunch of my faves in stock. And I even found a new favorite I had never even heard of. The lounge is comfortable and spacious with three different rooms to sit in. The liquor selection is very good, with a great selection of craft and local beers. The service was definitely on point, and the crowd was welcoming. If you smoke cigars and are going thru Montgomery this place is a must stop! read more

I don't know much about cigars other than it's a really excellent way to relax once-in-awhile. So, I spent a couple hours here enjoying a cigar and sip of Scotch with a friend one afternoon, and had a supremely relaxing experience. The humidor is overwhelming. If you're like me and don't know what's what, seek help. I have no recollection of what I selected, only that the humidor is probably bigger than my bedroom, maybe my living room, which is to say, there's a lot to choose from. The staff is more than willing to help out. I learned there's more than one way to cut a cigar. Crazy! My friend is a regular here, so I don't know if I got a special kind of treatment, but I did have the privilege of being left alone with their scotch/whiskey collection for some time to contemplate my choices. The selection is fantastic, offering a little something for everyone and better than most Scotch selections at any given bar, though I concede I have not yet been to Hiram in downtown Montgomery. Once my cigar and whisky (Ardbeg Uigeadail, for those interested), I settled into a leather chair in the back parlor. The smoking room at the back is supremely well ventilated. There's constant airflow to avoid it being smoky or excessively scented, which is a really fantastic touch. All-in-all, this was easily one of the best experiences I've had in Montgomery so far, and it lives up to its name as a sanctuary to the bon vivant. read more

This was a real treat! Was in Alabama for the first time and decided to find a place to smoke a cigar and eavesdrop on locals. I ended up staying for three hours ... smoked two Padrons and had three tasty glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon, thanks to the extremely hospitable hosts who come by regularly to check on you to see if you need anything. There's a big lounge room in front, but one on the side as well that's a bit cozier with nice TVs to catch up on the latest sports stuff. Great comfy leather chairs. If I'm ever in Montgomery again, I will definitely be back! read more

What an awesome shop! Was in town for business and found it in google.....and I'm so glad I did. Amazing selection, huge humidor, great atmosphere, extremely friendly and helpful staff and very good prices. It's in a great location too, near some good restaurants. I didn't have time to stick around but just by looking it seems like it would be an awesome place to smoke, hang out, and relax. Hopefully next time I'll be able to spend some time there. I called Sanctuary and the staff was efficient in locating what I was looking for. The team there set aside a box for me and I had my father-in-law pick them up locally. While working in town I decided I would stop by Sanctuary. I tend to enjoy checking out different cigar lounges on the road. I was instantly impressed by the atmosphere of this lounge, it's like your stress just melts away when walking in. This lounge has a great selection and is the only Davidoff retailer in the state so I was in for a treat when I had "the late hour" by davidoff. The guy behind the counter, who recommended this fine cigar, definitely has an impressive knowledge of the selection provided by this lounge, and with him bringing your drink of choice directly to your seat was a very nice touch. I will definitely be back to this location multiple times over the course of my stay in the Montgomery area for work. read more
