Constantly raising prices. Despite what their ads say , Sandbar is no longer a place for locals with their $18 hamburgers. A couple years ago their prices were reasonable, but now they have been raised way beyond the present rate of inflation. This place was recommended to me by a fellow Yelper so we came in to try it on a Friday night. Somewhat hidden and more of a local's place, this divey bar has a decent menu with good prices. For appetizer we shared pretzels wth beer cheese, onion rings, and buffalo chicken dip. All were tasty and I would get them again. It was prime rib night so that's what I got. It's a decent sized piece of meat and it came with a baked potato and sauteed veggies. Was it the best prime rib? No and not as tender as some fancier joints but tasty and price point wise it was worth it. My friend got the coconut shrimp and she loved it. The service was great and Lake became an instant friend. First place we all ever tried Bailey's Strawberries and Cream and it was hit. Nesquick strawberry milk for grown ups. We wound up buying 4 bottles that weekend!!! I wasn't sure what to expect with the Sand Bar. It really surprised us! It's definitely a sports bar but I would say very family friendly. When you sit down they gave us these homemade chips with fresh French onion dip! Those chips are AMAZING! Honestly best part of our meal. So then, crispy and salty! Then we had Buffalo wings and I had the Buffalo wrap. So good! The fries are small and thin, so so good. The service was beyond excellent. He was on top of making sure we were good! I'm so glad my husband and I came out to experience this EXPERIENCE. Not only is the atmosphere hoppin' but the food is AHHHHmazing! The music was great and we sampled the menu. From the peel-and-eat shrimp to the wings to the fish and chips, all the food is sooooooo good. Plus management was wonderful and checked on us throughout our experience. We're not from here and this is a local watering "hole in the wall" that you cannot miss. It's fun with upbeat music which is loud and fun along with all the great food and the drinks kept coming as we enjoyed ourselves and the experience. It might not be for everyone, but get over yourself and get to the Sand Bar. I'm so serious that the chicken wings were an experience that you can't pass up. They are naked. I have been coming to the Sand Bar for more than 20 years. In years past I would make a special trip to Marco (when visiting Naples) just for a grouper sandwich. Sadly, I have made my last visit to the Sand Bar. We picked up our take out today and we're stunned to see that not a single soul had on a mask and there was no social distancing. Brought a friend who was visiting town to Sand Bar over the weekend. Natasha was our server and she was extremely sneaky. Natasha was adding items to our tab that we did not order. When we looked over the receipt the next morning we noticed she had charged us for 8 Patron shots, which we did not order (and never would). After discussing the next morning we realized she had been adding drinks to our tab that we did not ask for (but at the time assumed one person in our group must have ordered the drinks - *none of us did*). We were a party of 4 and Natasha added automatic gratuity onto the tab and did not tell us. We caught that before double tipping her, but after realizing what this server did I'm not surprised. Service was fantastic. Great waitress. We only had drinks no food. Had fruit flies in my first chocolate martini. Showed them and they made me a new one. Said it was the kahlua. At the end of second drink found two more. Showed the bartender and said it wasn't just the kahlua . Being a signature drink on the cocktail menu that's not good. This place is a staple on Marco Island. I hadn't been here since the new ownership took over, and it looks incredible inside. They redid the menu, but still have their frog legs (can't vouch for them, though). It's pretty loud inside, but I think that they have at least two tables outside, now. Prices have gone up, too. I ordered the Cuban sandwich (choice of fries or pasta salad for side). As you can see in my picture, there is a generous portion of meat, however, you can also see that there is a lot of fat in the sandwich as well. Super disappointing. The service was great, they have a ton of waitstaff, so they're very attentive and friendly. I will be coming back, but probably avoiding the Cuban sandwich next time. read more

Large bar with a great selection of local and domestic beers. The house margarita was good also. They start by bringing you a fresh, in-house batch of potatoe chips with a horse radish French dip. My wife had the specialty sand bar burger, which was cooked perfectly and had a bacon Jam that was really tasty. I had the blackened prime rib sandwich. Not a place I'd eat at again. It's very basic tasting food that doesn't look great either. My sandwich tasted like the meat was cardboard. My friend's pizza tasted like one of those frozen $2 pizzas from a cheap grocery store. The fries however were amazing. The staff were all sitting and standing around doing nothing talking to each other. This one employee just stood in the middle of the floor staring at the tvs and at everyone. It was a bit creepy. One lady who seemed like the wife or girlfriend of an employee was standing at the end of the bar eating and giving food to everybody who worked there. It was annoying and kind of gross. Typically restaurants don't allow staff to eat out in the open right by customers while working. We stopped her while visiting the beach. For a "Beach Bar" they were not too excited to see people come in off the beach. We tried to sit at a table on the deck area, but were told we would have to order food in order to do so. I informed the seating staff we had 10 people, we were going to have drinks and appetizers. We asked for 2 tables to seat us all, and were told we could only have 1 as we were not "ordering food" (mind you there were 20 open tables inside and 2 open tables near the 1 we were given) So a few stood at the rail, a few sat at a table, and a couple sat at the bar. When we ordered our "non" food. Shrimp Tacos, Steak Tacos, Fish Tacos, Calamari, Wings, and Beach Bread. They then filled the table near us, but 2 others came open. We had people in our group that were not seated have to come and get a plate and take back to where they were able to be. IMO total BS, but I promised my wife I would not make a scene. So with a $150 bar bill and a $130 "non food" bill we couldn't enjoy our company as usual. We were there for approximately 30 minutes. Will not visit again. Would rather go down to the Kane Tiki Bar and pay double the price for both bills. The staff there were welcoming and accommodating. Sitting in the bar right now. I'll break it down; 5++ stars for the staff. Working hard, all fantastic. 4 stars for food. We had the nachos and skins. Basic bar food, done competently and yummy, but nothing out of the ordinary. 1 star for the clientele. The bar is nothing but the male version of mean girls. Making fun (loudly) of the people trying their hand at karaoke, yelling passive-agressive. BS at a woman who had a kid that started fussing - while she was trying to leave as fast as possible. She very obviously knew they were bothering the other folk. Person next to us loudly proclaiming why he didn't watch soccer or basketball (spoiler- the reason was racist). Some dishes are meant to bite back and, for others, simplicity is key to knocking your socks off. The Sand Bar hit it out of the park with the amazing Cesar salad, best I've had in the States and only second to a table side prep in Mexico once upon a time. However, the oyster Rockerfeller was very disappointing. A lot of liberties make this an entirely new dish, and for diehard Rockerfeller fans, not for the better. The cheddar cheese and bacon/ham completely overwhelmed the oyster and in some cases I wasn't sure there were any. It's a lot of food too, for each oyster yields three to four small bites. However the service was exceptional and the football crowd was lively, all in all a great atmosphere and a worthwhile experience. read more

I went to Sandbar for the first time and I had a nice experience. It's definitely a place for locals. Mostly older people who are experienced drinkers and I say that with the upmost respect. People chugging drinks down like water. I get tipsy after two drinks. :) The service was great and very friendly. We arrived at happy hour so we ordered drinks and a few appetizers. We were there about 2 hours. We had a total of 4 drinks mostly beer and wine and 3 appetizers within two hours. The bill was $29! I was shocked at how cheap the bill was and we had so many drinks and plentiful appetizers. We had chicken quesadilla, the chili, and then we had the carnita tacos which were AMAZING. Some of the best tacos I've ever had and I found them here in this hidden bar on a small island. Sandbar knocked it out of the park with these tacos. Overall I would say this a gem with nice people.
