(Updated) We had some sewage water back up in our basement that flooded the floor of our basement…read morebathroom. We needed to pull up the basement tile, pull the toilet and sink, and sterilize the area that had been contaminated. Servpro gave us what we considered to be a reasonable itemized estimate of $750 to do the entire job, so we had them do it. As near as I can tell, they did a decent job of pulling apart our bathroom and sterilizing the area. There were 3 things that left me dissatisfied. First, we thought the estimated fee, $750, covered the whole project including putting the bathroom (toilet, sink and vanity) back together. But Servpro considers that a separate project. So we were shocked when we got another itemized estimate from them to put the bathroom back together for $3600! We thought that was outrageous so, we found another company to put the bathroom back together for under $400 - far less than the price Servpro quoted us. The 2nd issue was that the bill was $850, more than $100 above what they quoted me. I spoke to a nice woman in their billing department and said I had some questions about the itemized bill. There were some items on the bill that I didn't think belonged there. This brings us to the 3rd issue. The woman at Servpro told me that the person in charge of our project would call me back the next day and we could discuss the questions I had about the bill. Nobody called me the next day, or even the next week. Eventually I saw the futility of the situation and just paid the bill - which I'm sure is what they were hoping I'd do. I felt it was, to say the least, a questionable business practice to tell us the fee for the job was $750 but that was literally for only half the job. And then they tell us the rest of the job is $3600. And when I wanted to discuss the bill with them, I never heard back. If this experience is any guide, I cannot recommend Servpro.

The quality of their work is shockingly low and they did a LOT of damage while in my home. Their website gives an impression of expertise, but beware. I hired them to extract insulation so I could have the attic inspected. I told them I left bad reviews for people who did sloppy work and didn't fix their issues, but this was the first time I experienced this ridiculousness. As for the ceiling, I heard a very loud bang when they were doing the insulation removal, but I still had them replace the ceiling. They charged me for replacing 2 drywall sheets in the ceiling and suggested I not be there when the did it due to my allergies. When I realized later they hadn't done any more than jack it up and screw it back in (and popcorn over the screws), I also realized they just wanted to make thousands for an hour's work. They did a terrible job and did more damage to my house than the job was worth - not just the paint they got all over the siding, deck, and patio. They duct taped plastic to my painted walls, stripping them of paint taking it down. Who does that? They scraped my stairwell ceiling with their equipment and then painted a stripe over it to try and hide it. The attic sealing they did was no where near sealed. Check out the picture of the chimney pipe they said they sealed. Foam on one side is sealed? They covered an opening into the living space with vinyl planks instead of wood - but they told me they did wood. They left gaps and insulation went down into my air return. How much? Who knows. I'd say they owe me money.
