You know, I would love to meet the people that left negative reviews about this place. Because they must be incredibly miserable. Yes, it's true, this place is not fancy or flashy, but it has everything you need to be content and happy. We stayed in unit 192, which is upstairs, door 3. Hot water, incredibly fast internet, directv, a kitchen, two beds, and a comfortable couch. Also, it has very cold air conditioning and incredible views.. Not to mention that you're about 400-500 feet from the beach. I will say this if you have a severe handicap. I would request the rooms downstairs. Also, there should be a couple of 'watch your step' signs, as there's a lot of levels that are uneven outside. Other than that, I really have no complaints. Checking in is at 3 PM. But we were able to get in about an hour early.. We found everything neat and smelling good, honestly, I would say overall, it's worth the price.

Don't come here. There is no staff. Place is horrible. They are taking you for total fools for charging $350/night for what they give you. Old. Falling apart. Murphy bed - probably the original bed from when the place was built. Small tiny spaces. Cheap cheap everything. This is a 2 or maybe 2.5 star location at most. Fraudulent advertising. Other 1 star review by Louis pretty much sums it up. Unfortunately we didn't see it and trusted the write up without verifying reviews. The good reviews must be by friends or family of owners. We stayed one day because it took us that long to regroup and find an alternate more appropriate lodging for the remainder of our stay. See pictures of this location. We HIGHLY recommend "The Lido Beach Resort" (that is where we ended up and within walking distance of this location). The Lido Beach Resort is truly amazing, reflects the luxury that you are paying for and without loss for the divine location. They know you are paying good money so they give you your money's worth and the restaurant at the Lido Beach Resort is very good.

We preferred 1st floor as you have a small patio on the front and back. #71 is one bedroom but has sofa pull-out bed if desired. The owner has it fully engineered with 3 ceiling fans, USB ports, storage everywhere, kitchen with all dish-ware, 2 TV's, plus all the little items you may have forgotten to bring. Well thought out for many little conveniences. Bonus, it is only a 7 minute walk to the village where there are many shops, restaurants, etc., but little parking available day or night. We walked to the Summer House and the Cottage and recommend both.

These look worth the price to me for sure! Great for 4 people. They have a nice pool too! The nice thing is the location, right across the street from Captain Curt's. Also Stickney Pointe Rd is almost right across the street. For those staying during holiday weekends like July 4th, you won't to wait in that Siesta Key Beach traffic. This alone is worth staying at Sea Shell. Make a right to go across the bridge, when coming back stay in the left hand lane and avoid the traffic.

On our second night there, a roach the size of a bunny rabbit was found crawling on the wall in the brides bedroom. We were immediately disgusted. Later that night, an additional four roaches were found. One in the kitchen, which was killed. One in the living room, which was also killed under magazines. And two under the bed in the brides bedroom, one alive and one dead. We immediately got in touch with the property manager Misty, but due to the late hours, we did not hear back until the next morning. Misty was informed of the disgusting situation and advised us that this same cottage has had a roach problem in the past. She told us she would contact the owner who was currently traveling, and in order for an exterminator to come spray, the cottage had to be emptied. We informed Misty we will be out all day on a boat and provided her with numerous phone numbers for her to contact with an update. She never called or followed up with anyone. We also told her that we would like to be moved, or quite honestly just leave and stay at a hotel. That night, a sixth roach was found. That was honestly the breaking point. Hotels were booked and ubers were called and we left there by 11:30 PM. We told Misty what was going on and wanted to come to an agreement of some sort of refund. Instead of responding to our calls and emails, they decided to charge us a $75 fee for "trashing" the cottage. We left in a hurry, and unopened food items were left behind. However, anything that was opened was disposed of and all the decorations were taken down. We were refunded the $75 and one nights stay, which quite honestly is not acceptable. The cottage was not livable. Not only were there 6 roaches, there were flies EVERYWHERE. Being married to an exterminator, I can honestly say that this cottage has a huge issue that is not being properly taken care of. We found multiple holes under the bed that lead to outside which is clearly where some of the roaches are coming from. Not only did we barely get responses from Misty, the owner, or booking.com, Misty also accused us of lying, putting rubber roaches all over the house, and disconnecting the WiFi. We had no idea the cottage even had WiFi and Misty admitted to not checking the cottage after the cleaning service left. Do not stay here. This place is disgusting and has a serious moisture problem.

People who are not guests can simply walk off the beach and use the pools (the towels are available without a room pass) and dine at either of the restaurants.
