They bulk bill. The staff on the front desk are overworked and can be quite crabby on the phone.

I am a nurse and someone who has chronic health issues so I am understand what makes a good doctor…read more I am thrilled to have found Taigum Central Medical Practice, there are 10+ doctors on staff and also practice based nurses. Recently they employed a physiotherapist and a dietitian works from the practice fortnightly. It is a one stop shop for all things health. I have always been able to get an appointment quickly, for example i phoned at 0805 this morning and I was sitting in my doctors office at 0900, now that is service! Of course you pay for what you get. Most appointments are $70 with a rebate from medicare for $35. The friendly receptionists are happy to process your rebate and have it sent directly to your bank account. I have seen a few people get bulk bill appointments, I guess it depends on circumstances. The waiting area is large and comfortable, with a small children's play area and a TV for us grown ups. The waiting room is almost always bursting at the seams but people are seen quickly and if there is a delay you can get a buzzer from the reception desk and go to the shops in the shopping centre. Mostly if they are running late it is only by 15 minutes. I for one am happy to wait because it means that if I am really unwell that I know the doctors will take the time with me and not rush to get on to the next patient. They also open late a couple of nights a week until 7pm for those who need to see a GP after work. Also they are open until 12pm on Saturdays for those who have become unwell over the weekend. If you need a referral to a specialist these GPs are fantastic and know of the best specialist in Brisbane to refer you on to. Parking is free and just out the front of the practice.

Sometimes I feel really passionate about writing reviews for companies similar to QML. They're not…read morethe type of thing that get written reviews very often, but sometimes it's the type of thing you need to know about. My doctor asked me to get my blood tested around 8am, so I headed to the QML in Nundah around then. It was nice and quiet, I was the only person in there, I was in and out within 15 minutes. Yes, yes. This is how it should be - but is it really like that often? Usually I have to wait among screaming kids and too noisy daytime television shows. But it was peaceful, fast, and the lady who took my blood was pretty friendly (look not as good as the lady I had at Chermside QML but she was exceptional). This QML is also in the same complex as Nundah Medical Centre. Also an orthodontist if that's what you need. It opens at 6am weekdays and is also open Saturdays. Oh, and before I forget to mention - the needle was great. Well, as great as a needle can be. Hardly felt a thing. I always fear the needle coming out. There's this weird feeling that makes me nauseous when a needle comes out. But none of that this time! Didn't feel a thing! Well done, Nundah QML. Well done indeed.

I have always received excellent treatment from Dr Kyaw Lin Tun for both myself and my grandsons…read more Never been one to go to a doctor all my life but blood pressure issues changed that. Decided to get a skin check and found I could do that at the same clinic with Dr Marcio Francisco. I was advised there would be a cost of $135 with a $75 medicare rebate which was okay. The fee would depend on the length of consultation as well. Made an appointment for 2pm. I arrived at 1.55pm and waited until 2.25pm. Had decided if I waited until 2.30pm I would have to reschedule as I had to collect my grandson from school. Consultation lasted 10 minutes with some liquid nitrogen applied. Advised to return in 12 months unless signs of bleeding after blistering went down. All good. Fee was billed as extended consultation at $185 by the doctor. Bit of double dipping I feel. Anyway I paid it and have never canned anyone before with a review but when I extended this to an hourly rate it exceeds $1000 hr which is no doubt depriving others of medical care. Probably not the epic review you keep telling it is at the bottom of the screen.
There are a few things you should know before you go to Everton Hills Medical Centre…read more The first thing you should know is that you won't find a kinder, more compassionate doctor than Michael Kennedy. He works ludicrous hours every day simply because he's a doctor who gives his patients the time of day. He listens to what you say. He asks questions about your hobbies, what you've been doing, and writes them in his notes. My record has segments in it that say "just returned from Detroit- likes muscle cars" for no apparent reason other than his own entertainment (I'm assuming). He's not ashamed to say "I don't know what's wrong with you" if that's the truth. He will go the whole hog and get you whichever bunch of tests he thinks you need. He's got a strong "we'll get to the bottom of this" approach to his work. He does have a tendency to be clumsy in this comically British way. I can't count the amount of times he's poured tea down his shirt. His office is cluttered, and he's a little disorganised, but it's all part of the charm. The point is, he's thorough, he actually cares, and you can trust that he's a doctor that will do all he can to help his patients. He even makes house calls. What a gem. There's a lot of people who think Dr Kennedy is the best thing since sliced bread, and so, he can be a little hard to get in to see. If you can, try and arrange an appointment for a few days ahead. Here's an important piece of information: He will always run late. He could be 15 minutes late, or he could be an hour and a half late. To save frustration, just call the clinic half an hour before your appointment to see how far behind he is. It will save you a lot of time in the waiting room, trust me. Despite the long waits, I keep coming back simply because he's the genuine article- for me, he represents what all doctors should be. While you're there, read his article that's framed on the wall about the Hypocratic Oath. If his article doesn't win you over, nothing will. Everton Hills Medical Centre doesn't bulk bill, and scripts will cost you around $5.00.
