Wish i can give his office a better review but it's been a terrible experience with customer service and billing. Avoid the stress!

This review is very different type for Yelp as it is for my vasectomy which I had yesterday with Dr…read moreJames Kashanian. The procedure was preceded by the state required 30-day separation after the consultation. This review addresses the procedure itself as I will leave the consultation for a update review (yes, in reverse order). I was familiar with finding the office on the large 9th floor of this very large facility which is perhaps the most stress. I was 18m late but thankfully the coordination in their team is very good so when I checked in they were already to go. Kudos to all the people who staff such a procedure including the scheduler who keeps track of time, the intake receptionist who signals the start, the first nurse who takes one's vitals, the surgical assistant who does most of the preparatory work, the doctor himself who studies and organizes the office, maintenance staff who make sure everything is stuck cared for and ready to go; and all the administrative staff who make it a yet easier time. I often say that the happier the staff at a business, the better the customer experience. The same applies even here for this unique type of business and review. I must note how very happy, relaxed, and genuinely caring so many of the aforementioned staff were. It is no small feat that Weill Cornell Medicine and doctor bosses keep them so happy. It is literally the type of place at which one would want to work and many friends have long said for decades that a hospital such as this is their preferred employer and indeed today work as such hospitals around the city. The procedure was very professional with all of the provided attention, care, staff, support, and good attitude that one would want for such a procedure. I knew that from my research that this procedures' difference here is their using a minimally invasive technique. Such makes all the difference for the patient's less post-operative pain recovery and higher chance of success. I'm living it right now and I can say cheers to you Dr. Kashanian and staff!

I ended up as Dr. Chughtai's patient because my previous urologist left NYP/Weill Cornell Faculty…read morePractice. Several years ago my urologist at the time (Dr. Michael Herman, who, by the way, is great too and now practices urology in Valley Stream NY)) referred me to Dr. Chughtai for a test called "urodynamics" because it seemed to be progressively more difficult to start peeing and longer to finish. I took one look at the description of the "urodynamics" test on Google and cancelled the appointment immediately. Fast forward two years to the summer of 2016 and the medication for my problem (Flomax) was losing its efficacy rapidly. I really had no choice so I booked my first appointment with Dr. Chughtai. First impressions mean a lot to me. They are 70%-80% of my eventual opinion and almost always right. Dr. Chughtai immediately makes an excellent impression. He is at the same time very charming and medically confident and self-assured. The equipment is still a bit scary but you know you've come to the right doctor. He gets technicians to perform the dreaded urodynmanics test so you can remain positively disposed to him. Then there is the cystoscopy, basically an endoscopy for your bladder. Yes, you are guessing the correct entry point for the scope. It is not as bad as you might imagine and the extremely 'uncomfortable' part is over pretty quickly. The TV screen is right in front of your eyes so if they are open, you can have the unique opportunity of seeing the inside of your penis and bladder. Imagine how jealous your friends will be. When it came to surgery for BPH (if you've gotten this far you already know the definition of BPH). Dr. Chughtai was great before and after. I was out cold so can't say what it's like to be awake during this surgery. In hind sight I should have gone for the spinal block (as they do for a C-Section) because I proved difficult to intubate. Bottom line: Dr. Chughtai is the best. I am a heavy user of medical services due tom a spinal chord injury 20 years ago and although all of my doctors are good, Dr. Chughtai is great.

I called Dr. Choi's office on a late Friday afternoon and after giving them our story, the receptionist was so understanding. She fit us into the schedule for the next possible morning, Monday morning. Incredible. When we met Dr. Choi, he immediately put us at ease with his calm and caring bedside manner. This was something I desperately needed considering the previous week of dealing with doctors I felt did not really care about my husband's pain. He examined my husband and explained our options going forward. He took the time with us to discuss the best treatment for my husband's kidney stone due to size, density and location. Then, he fit us into his schedule at the earliest possible appointment. When it looked as if our insurance would not cover the procedure at his medical center in Fort Lee, he took the time to move the appointment to New York Presbyterian Hospital, to insure the procedure would be covered. Furthermore, after the procedure, he called us the next morning to check in on recovery. My husband is currently recovering now from a successful laser lithotripsy and stent exchange last week. We are beyond thankful for Dr. Choi's superlative care. He was there when we really needed someone. We felt heard and truly cared for by an excellent doctor. Needless to say, we have found our urologist. As we all know, there are many traits to an excellent doctor. Dr. Benjamin Choi is intelligent, knowledgable, precise, and communicative. But, I was most impressed with his caring. He understood that we had been through a very difficult week before getting to his office. And, his assurance that my husband would be okay was priceless. Not to mention, he understands that his care does not end with the procedure. His continued care after the surgery has been exceptional. I thank our lucky stars that we found him. And, on the subject of stars, honestly, I feel like 5 stars is too low. I would give him a 10 star review if I could. Feeling blessed and very happy, Blythe McGowan

HIGHLY SUGGEST that any man should STAY AWAY from Dr. François Eid. As of today July 20, 2025,…read morethere are 221 reviews posted in addition to this one. The next newest review is 2 years old. Dr. Eid graduated from medical school 43 years ago and he states on his website that he performs 300 surgeries per year. I first posted this very negative review about a month ago, but it was subsequently removed within the last 7 days, and I can no longer post to this page using that same gmail account. In other words, somehow my negative review was removed. So, all of Dr. Eid's positive reviews stay, and who knows how many negative reviews have disappeared. What is the purpose of these Google Reviews if that is the case? So for this review I am using a new different account. The day before my implant surgery, Dr. Eid measured me and told me he was going to implant a 20cm IPP, instead he implanted an 18cm IPP which did not reach into the glans. He provided no explanation as to why, he has never stated what he would have done differently in my surgery, nor what he did wrong. Dr. Eid will not admit to a surgery mistake. Within a matter of months of my surgery I developed problems. Ten months after my surgery a high volume surgeon in this same field of expertise in Florida examined me. Upon examining me, the surgeon immediately left the exam room and called Dr. Eid in NYC to discuss my implant. When the surgeon returned to my room, he told me that he had spoken to Dr. Eid, and he said that my initial surgery was completely inferior on the day it was performed 10 months prior. He said the particular prosthesis Dr. Eid used should never have been used in the way it was implanted, that it needed to be removed, and that I required complete revision surgery. Get this surgery done right the first time. AVOID Dr. Eid and potential painful revision surgery. Again, all of these positive reviews are at least 2 years old, and my other negative review was removed. Dr. Eid graduated from medical school in 1982, 43 years ago. I HIGHLY suggest that you find a different high volume Dr. on the implant manufacturer's website.
