What a gem! Ambiance was quaint, we were a large table and seated pretty promptly. Coffee was very good, hot and served in the cutest coffee mugs. Food was fire! Huevos rancheros, perfectly cooked not runny ordered over medium. Beans were so good, bubbly hot and yummy. Salsa was amazing. Potatoes were tasty, lots of flavor...but the star of the show...and you know if you visit San Antonio you have to have this star...the barbacoa! It did not disappoint, was so good. I came by after making an order via phone. The restaurant was pretty clean and calm. There wasn't that many people there. As far as food goes, I can't say that I really enjoyed my caldo de res because the meat felt aged and was really chewy. if I can give zero stars, I would. My Sister and I went this past Sunday to Sandra . There's nothing cuisine about this restaurant. We paid separate tickets. I just found out today, Tuesday, that they charge my sister's ticket and on my credit card. On top of that the Menudo, we order was so terrible. I seldom give three stars however, the service needs improvement. It took a good while for someone to come by the table even after asking the hostess about assistance (this was around 10:45 AM). Food however was delicious. The chilaquiles are cooked scrambled mixed with the tortillas chips and cheese on top. I had an amazing experience at this Mexican restaurant! The food was super delicious--every bite was full of flavor, fresh, and absolutely satisfying. We went to Sandra's on 3/29/25 and has been the worst experience we have encountered yet. The service was horrible. Waitress only came to our table to take our order and deliver food. We never got our waters or spicy salsa which she said she would get and be back. We got 3 bacon and egg tacos and 1 papas and chorizo taco and 2 coffees. The coffee was very watered down and the tacos were nothing to be desired. Needless to say we will not be back. I would recommend Mi Hacienda right down the street, Plaza Tapatia, or El Rodeo de Jalisco. They are all located off of Potranco with much better service and food! read more

On four separate occasions they forgot to put in my extra 8 oz salsa which they charge $2 + dollars for. Ok only been here for their breakfast tacos. But so far I love this place. Ok. So the outside looks very nice. I hope the inside matches it. In the drive thru the only concern is the cross fit gym next to it. It's hard to order in the drive thru. You also can tell the food is pretty good because the parking lol is always full and the drive thru line gets long. Everyone who has helped me has always been great. Very polite and friendly. The favorite tacos the get here are: asada egg and cheese, bean and cheese, machcado with cilantro and onions, and their super tacos (chicken or beef). The tortillas are nice thick, soft and fluffy. The seasoning on all the food is amazing. It makes it very tasty. I really enjoy this place. One day i will go inside and see what it's like inside and the service. The frozen margaritas are BOMB and you better watch yourself or you will need help walking out of the restaurant. Not many restaurants know how to make carne guisada but Sandra's does!!! It's is the best I've had since moving to SA and I have yet to find another place to match it or do better. The restaurant is always clean and nice! The only downside I will say is they allow people to solicit. We dined in once and had someone stop at our table to talk about their barber shop that just opened. Staff was friendly and we were able to pick any table we wanted to sit at. Drink orders were taken quickly. We ordered the kids quesadilla which my boys loved. Chips and salsa were complimentary. My chicken flaunted were good with the right amount of crunch however the chicken could have had a bit more seasoning. My husband enjoyed his enchiladas.
