What a gem! Ambiance was quaint, we were a large table and seated pretty promptly. Coffee was very good, hot and served in the cutest coffee mugs. Food was fire! Huevos rancheros, perfectly cooked not runny ordered over medium. Beans were so good, bubbly hot and yummy. Salsa was amazing. Potatoes were tasty, lots of flavor...but the star of the show...and you know if you visit San Antonio you have to have this star...the barbacoa! It did not disappoint, was so good. It was fresh, hot, not a smidge of fat. All meat and so good! Flour homemade tortillas were spot on. Quesadilla was good. Terrible service!!!!! First and last time there! Not only did it take forever for the waitress to get our drinks but they over cooked the steak she never came to check on us. She assumed we were paying together and never asked. There were 4 of us. Then she forgot our cake we ordered the brought us the wrong cake and then after I complained she told me I couldn't pay up front that I had to pay with her only. I looked at my receipt and she charged me for other people's items as well as added a "to go fee" of 3.50, a charge for pastel????? For $4.99. We didn't get anything to go. As far as food goes, I can't say that I really enjoyed my caldo de res because the meat felt aged and was really chewy. Walked in and was seated right away. The room is very spacious and very nice. We ordered and the food came out quick. I had a papa ranchera taco with bacon and my daughter had pancakes. Dont know where to start. We have been going there quite a few times. Never has been perfect but close to home. This experience with Gabrial was the worst I have ever had at a restaurant. I had to ask for chips and salsa twice. Normally they come right out. Then I had to ask twice for extra napkins. He was so distracted by something on his phone. Go the receipt and was charged for 2 beers and only had one. He said no you had two. Not sure who drank the other one. Charged extra for jalapenos with the nachos even though is say incuded. I seldom give three stars however, the service needs improvement. It took a good while for someone to come by the table even after asking the hostess about assistance (this was around 10:45 AM). Food however was delicious. The chilaquiles are cooked scrambled mixed with the tortillas chips and cheese on top. I had an amazing experience at this Mexican restaurant! The food was super delicious--every bite was full of flavor, fresh, and absolutely satisfying. The service was incredibly fast, which made the whole meal even better. A special shout-out to one of the bussers, Max. We went to Sandra's on 3/29/25 and has been the worst experience we have encountered yet. The service was horrible. Waitress only came to our table to take our order and deliver food. We never got our waters or spicy salsa which she said she would get and be back. We got 3 bacon and egg tacos and 1 papas and chorizo taco and 2 coffees. The coffee was very watered down and the tacos were nothing to be desired. Needless to say we will not be back. I would recommend Mi Hacienda right down the street, Plaza Tapatia, or El Rodeo de Jalisco. They are all located off of Potranco with much better service and food! read more

On four separate occasions they forgot to put in my extra 8 oz salsa which they charge $2 + dollars for. We drove by this place at least 10 times and thought we wanted to give it a try. Finally on an undecided Friday night we decided to give it a go. Staff was friendly and we were able to pick any table we wanted to sit at. Drink orders were taken quickly. We ordered the kids quesadilla which my boys loved. Chips and salsa were complimentary. My chicken flaunted were good with the right amount of crunch however the chicken could have had a bit more seasoning. My husband enjoyed his enchiladas.
