These were some of the best donuts I have ever had!! We were in the area for a weekend getaway and stumbled across this jewel. The owner was soo nice and the donuts are AMAZING! They are made to order and not overly sweet. We got a variety of different ones and we loved every single one! For donuts by the beach, it's tough to beat Sandy Pony. Their cake donuts come out hot and fresh, with a variety of choices to choose from. We sampled a little bit of everything including their bubble tea and everything was great. Their chocolate covered pretzel donut was probably my favorite but they were all good. If you want to find best donut shop in Delaware go no further than Sandy Pony Donuts!! This was my second experience at a Sandy Pony (the first being at their Annapolis location). We actually went to the drive through location here in Bethany Beach but I couldn't find that location listed on Yelp. I pulled up to drive through around 7:45 and the car line was minimal but the other line was out the door. They were poppin' and already out of a few items that I tried to request in my box of 12. I love that they wrote on the inside of the lid the order of the donuts in a diagram. These are melt in your mouth delicious and dangerously addictive. Will always come here at least once per Beach visit!! read more

This place should stick to making donuts. All their bubble tea is the high sugar artificial power unless you state that you want the non powdered no sugar green tea with boba. Just asking for unsweetened green tea won't do it. You will get the powdered garbage. It was very disappointing. Oh I ordered one unsweetened green tea, one unsweetened black tea, and one unsweetened coconut tea. When I gave them to me I immediately could tell that they were not green tea or black tea. I mentioned it to a worker and they said that they use powders for everything. When I indicated that I specifically asked for a green tea unsweetened they said that they actually did offer only the green tea that was real tea unsweetened and she could replace the powdered green tea and black tea with real green tea unsweetened as I had originally asked for. She also said I could keep those two drinks if I want it. I declined because I was not going to drink them anyways. However, I still got stuck with the powdered coconut drink which nobody drank in our party and we threw it out. If I was reading this place just on the tea they would get a one star or a zero if I could do that. However, I think their specialty and white people mostly come here for donuts. As for the donuts I think most of them or moist and flavorful. A few of them had quite a bit of artificial coloring and flavorings on them which I would never order again. The Porky pony was by far everyone's favorite. This donut had the typical glaze on it, cinnamon sugar, and bacon, very delicious combinations. Because of this donuts uniqueness, great flavors, moistness, and what appeared to be not a lot of artificial coloring's I'm gonna give this donut store a five star rating. A guest brought a mixed dozen to my home, about an hour out of the oven, and they were hands down the best donuts I've had in many years. Taste, texture, size, all were perfect. Perfect. Come here for the donuts- NOT the acai bowls or bubble tea. The bubble tea is not very cold and does not come with bubbles. It's also a little creamier than normal bubble tea which I didn't like... The acai bowls were very icy. Usually the acai comes in a smoothie form but these bowls had some sort of acai shaved ice base? I'm not sure. It was a bit odd and, in my opinion, NOT worth $9. I'd go somewhere else for acai and bubble tea. The donuts, however, are always good here. Get the blueberry one!! Also, the employee refused to give us water cups and told us we had to buy bottled water, but he gave us cups with ice. I'm sure he was allowed to give us cold tap water but just didn't want to. Overall, not a great experience. I like the location in Annapolis much better. read more

We miss the food truck from years ago! But driving into Bethany wasn't bad. They are only letting one person in at a time and felt very safe. These donuts are served HOT and delicious! Our family favorites: cookies and creme and surfer dude (sugar and chocolate chips)! We always share a Porky Pony, because, come on-BACON? Yes please! We also love the Yabba Dabba (fruity pepples!). Donuts were awesome- fresh, made to order cake donuts. We got half a dozen for myself and two young children- they were typical size for cake donuts, but so good that I could probably eat 2-3 myself. Bubble tea also good, had taro flavor, Açaí bowl also good size and delicious with fresh fruit topping, cheaper than what we are used to paying in the NY area. They have signs posted allowing one customer in as one customer leaves, but it was a hot day and customers were coming in before others could leave. At one point there were 6 customers in the store but everyone was wearing masks at least. Would love to try a few different varieties of donuts before we leave- so many yummy options to choose from! read more
