Favorite groomer ever! My golden retriever always looks sooo beautiful - the staff here is so great, they always trim her coat perfectly, I have never had a bad haircut. Julie and her staff are the sweetest, she loves her job and all the dogs, she takes great pride in her work. I highly recommend this place to all my friends. I also love how they have a new bandana for my dog and an area for photos, such a cute touch! My dog loves this place, she is always excited when we get here. Today was one of the hardest days of my life!! Holly went to doggy heaven today. My heart is so so so beyond broken, I loved her so much, she was my best pet friend she always let me snuggle her and cry on her she always knew when I was hurting inside or felt alone she was there, she was there for me through so much. Thank you guys so so very much for always being so good with Holly and doing the best grooming on her and her very last one she just had. I can't believe she couldn't make it till Christmas. My heart will be forever broken and I will miss her for the rest of my life. She was there for me for 14 years. The ups and downs and everything I will miss you forever Holly girl my baby!!! There aren't enough words in the English language to express how much I appreciate Annette. I'm so lucky that I have a dog groomer as trustworthy as Annette. She's been my go-to dog groomer for about 4 years now and is always willing to take in my 3 schnauzers. She's always willing to take on new styles for them, she is a true treasure. She's sweet and attentive with each of my dogs. They always come back looking adorable, I'm always excited to see her work. 2 of my dogs were rescued and when I first brought them to her, she was so gentle and kind to them, still is. My dogs are my life and there aren't many people I trust with my pups but Annette is very high on that list for me. If you're looking for a new dog groomer, I one thousand percent recommend Annette!

I'm writing this review so others are aware of what potentially can happen. I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone and I wish I knew what I was getting myself into. I went to get my 2 year old poodle groomed on 5/16/23. My dog was very matted and knew they were going to have to shave him since this has happened before. In the past my dog has got shaven due to matting and no issues have come up from it. I picked him and up and they told me my dog was the happiest there and no issues. I had to pay before I even saw him, which has been the most expensive I have ever paid for a groomer since they charge extra for matting. Well when I got home, it was a different story. I found dried blood on his ear. My dog has white nails and they still managed to cut him on the vein. I understand that accidents happen but the fact they keep reassuring me that nothing happened and normalizing that it could happen because of his matting. My dog has been a different dog since that day. The following day he wouldn't get out of bed like he usually does in the morning. It even took a full day for my dog to go outside and potty and still hesitates. I knew this was not normal. I had to take my dog to the vet and they ended up giving him antibiotics for his cut. This experience has been horrible. I talked to the owner 3 times but she still did not take any responsibility for what happened. Instead, I was just told it was because of his matting and because I waited too long to take him in and there was nothing they could have done differently. She backed up her groomer and assured me my dog was treated with all the love. My dogs behavior begs to differ. He is even more anxious than usual. I do not know what happened but I know there is something missing. It doesn't take a dog 2 weeks to adjust to their grooming

We found this place because they "specialize" in grooming aggressive dogs. Our 20lb rescue doodle has always been anxious about getting groomed, so by word of mouth, we found Annette at Sandy's grooming. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. When we went to go pick him up, they asked for his name, then said "let me go grab his chart so we can charge you." She returned with a chart and asked us to pay $145 without bringing us our dog. I asked to see the dog first and speak to the groomer so I can ask her how the grooming went. Annette came out and told us he was aggressive and she did what she can. I asked if his nails were cut, she said no. I asked what else she couldn't do, and she only then started to mention what she has and has not done. But because she tried, they will be charging us the full price plus the "aggressive dog handling fee" which was $145 for a 20lb dog. This is the most I've ever had to pay for a dog grooming yet still not all done. I'm sad that they advertise themselves as "specialize in grooming aggressive dogs" yet couldn't handle our dog. Yet, because they tried, they still charge full. When we got home, we were able to trim some of his nails (but not all because he was already so stressed out) and found out that they cut his butthole area too close, there was a small cut below the butthole, and he was bleeding. Must have been clipped by accident. We didn't like the price, how the staff handled customers, lack of communication, and misguiding of their capabilities. We won't be returning again.

This was two days after they both got bathed and furminated. They always leave Sandy's Grooming with a cute, festive bandana.

Today was my first day taking my 7 month Mini Golden Doodle here and I have truly never been happier with not only the way my dog looks but also my interaction with the amazing and friendly groomer, Annette. I was really nervous about taking my dog to the groomers due to the mystery respiratory virus going around in dogs and she was so friendly, informative and reassuring when I spoke to her on the phone, letting me know all of their safety protocols; no shared dog water bowls, sanitizing all areas, and keeping the dogs separated from each other. They also have an awesome express service where the groomer is just tending to your dog, which I opted to do! (Such a great option!! So glad they offer this) After talking to her I felt so much better and quickly set up an appointment with Annette. She had me send her pictures and communicate with her what I wanted for Phoebe and she took the time to ask the appropriate questions to make sure she understood what I wanted her to look like and to also explain things to me. Annette was also very sweet and loving with Phoebe which I really appreciated. She looks extremely adorable and I am just overall so happy with my experience! read more

Annette is by far the best groomer I have been to! I took my golden doodle, cooper, to her after a bad haircut from many prior groomers. I let her know what I was looking for and she assured me that we could get coopers hair looking how I wanted. When I brought him in I did not expect him to look as good as he did when I picked him up since his hair was really messed up from my prior groomer. But she really exceeded my expectations and I will never go to another groomer again. Cooper loves getting dropped off there and is so excited to go in so I know he is in good hands! I can also tell by the way she communicates she really has a love for pets and that is extremely reassuring to know my dog is in good hands! We adopted a rescue dog who came all the way from South Korea. She's never had a home and only known dark and scary places. She was withdrawn at first so we waited for her first grooming. The team of groomers here listened to her story, took extra time with her and she came out looking like a model. Hard to believe she's the same dog. All her heavy undercoat, gone. Ollie my one year old Pomeranian has been going to Sandy's grooming since he was a little pup. Annette always does such a good job. Ollie absolutely loves grooming day and, he always comes back looking amazing and smells Soo good! It's hard for me to trust anybody when it comes down to my dog. I decided to stop taking my dogs here. The groomer last time said my dog warned her several times that it was bothering him the way she was trimming his nails, and then he finally nipped at her. He did not draw blood and she was not hurt. But his nails and my other dog's nails were barely trimmed and definitely not filed down. I took them both to the vet 2 weeks later and was told they both did great with a bath and nail trimming and filing down... they just needed some love and time and attention. If an establishment is too busy to provide this love and attention, they're in it for the wrong reasons. This is about our darling pets. read more

I would give them 20 stars if I could! This place is fantastic. Our first visit was today and my boxer actually got out of her collar, I was terrified because she could have gone into the street. One of the groomers came out and immediately knew how to handle it. My boxer usually bolts and comes back when she's done running around. Well it was about 10 seconds and she came right to her!! A human she's never met! So they got our 2 dogs settled in and they smell and look fantastic when I picked them up. They are both happy and so am I! The price was a tiny bit more than we are accustomed to, HOWEVER, we were never happy with the service and they'd always forget something or cut my dog(At the old place we used to go) and my boxer doesn't even get trimmed! One time she came home bleeding behind her ear! So this time we agreed to try something new. SO WORTH IT!!! Give them a try! On top of quality service for my babies, they were very friendly and kind, that matters a lot to me. Thank you Sandys grooming! We will be back! -Harley& Luna read more

Absolutely the nicest people ever. Just after they finished bathing about drying my 13 year old rescue dachshund, he had a "senior moment meltdown". Yes he both peed and pooped on the groomer! I was completely embarrassed and the entire team at Sandy's grooming could not have been sweeter. Somehow even though the groomer had pee on her shirt, they cleaned up my shaky old dog and he was fluffy and completely fresh and smelled like sunshine. Truly they are a top-notch staff who really really cares about your animal. One million stars. Highly recommend the wonderful talented people read more

We've been using Annette since our doodle's first cut. She is very good at listening to what we want and takes her time with us before each cut to make sure we are on the same page. We are always very happy after each appointment, and thankful to have a groomer that listens and is able to give us the exact look we want for our doodle. First off let me say Max looks completely different from when I dropped him off! He looks so amazing. I literally cried when I realized this was my pup. Sandy's is amazing they completely turned around what PETCO did to him! The staff is incredible and so nice. They welcomed max and made him feel very comfortable. I feel so safe bring my fur baby back here, knowing that they will take care of him. I'm so grateful I found this place. I highly recommend. 5 stars isn't enough. read more

Great place to take any dog. My grand-dog is a mix and a little weird lol. Sandy's always makes him feel content and delivers a great service. My grand-dog is black and has issues with his feet especially with nail trimming. Had such an awesome experience with Annette. We took our 5 month old goldendoodle puppy for his first big boy cut. Took a picture of what we were looking to achieve and she definitely delivered! She was actually referred to me from another doodle pawrent so I was confident she can do it which reassured me. She seemed very knowledgeable and took the time to explain certain things about doodle coats which helped me decide any changes we went with. Def recommend and have found our groomer! It was a bit of a drive for us but worth it! read more

We love Annette!! My dog Nori is very shy and has had terrible experiences with groomers in the past, but with Annette he absolutely adores her. Not only does he feel the most comfortable with her, but he gets so excited when he sees her! Her work is amazing because before every grooming session she makes sure to ask you what type of hair cut you exactly want for your pup. And he comes back smelling amazing and super fluffy. Would 100% recommend coming to Sandy's Grooming and asking for Annette! read more

My dog never wants to leave Julie and Annette!!!! As a first time doodle owner, I knew nothing about taking care of my dog's beautiful curly coat. I searched for a reputable groomer who could educate me while also ensuring that River, my pup, retains the symmetrical teddy bear cuteness of her youth. The knowledgable and professional staff at Sandy's Grooming have done both! I absolutely adore Julie, the owner, who has spent a lot of time teaching me how to care for River's coat. And I am in love with Annette who is an extremely talented and patient stylist who has also provided sage advice about how to deal with my little fluffy wuffy. Annette is gifted and truly the best Doodle stylist in OC, hands down. And River LOVES her grooming sessions, so much so that when we pull up, she starts whining excitedly and barrels into the shop to greet Annette and Julie. And, she NEVER wants to leave. Julie even tried enticing her with cheese to no avail. If you see ever see goldendoodle who doesn't want to leave being carried out of Sandy's grooming, that's me. Basically, I'd give them 5 stars only for their (previously) affordable, high quality services, disregarding the impersonal vibe I feel from all the people who work here whenever I entered. Which I understood and brushed off every time. I knew we wouldn't be coming back due to them telling us up front how much this last bath & express service would be but had no hard feelings, dropped off our dog, still 5 stars. But this was only up until I came back and had my minimal interactions with a couple members of the team behind the desk. I came in, said hello here to pick up my dog, and I barely got a hello back, and the younger staff placed the card reader on the counter in a way that felt pretty aggressive, in my opinion. And as I mentioned, I'd usually brush all of this off, but today just felt extra awkward quite honestly. I wish the best for the groomers & owners. It sucks that the prices increased for us, but good for them overall if this is what will help maintain their high quality deliverables. Will definitely miss how my dog comes out of here clean & fluffy with a bandana on her for whatever season it is. To the staff that have worked directly with our dog (especially to the awesome tall white lady with the piercings), thank you so much for taking care of Toasty, ensuring that she felt safer and more comfortable enough to come back each time. She may be just another dog-client, but I'm sure she will miss seeing her groomers who are a piece of her entire world that she'll ever have.

On the website, my dog's breed is one of the examples of the short and thin coat category, and that was why they charged me the prior lower price in my past visits. For some unknown reasons, they gave me different incoherent excuses that made me feel they were going to charge higher today no matter what. The owner did not even see my dog but insisted that my dog has medium to thick hairs that she will have to hand dry her coat. When I picked her up, her coat was not fully dried... Despite the unpleasant conversations, my dog came back very cute. I was told they are going to increase the pricing for all very soon.

He let me stay nearby to help Juno feel more comfortable, which I really appreciated. She was timid at first, but he took his time earning her trust and worked at her pace. When it came to the dryer, he introduced it carefully and explained that he didn't want to push her too far or undo the trust he had built even if that meant she wouldn't be fully dry. That meant a lot to me. It's clear that Ricardo has experience with dogs like Juno and truly understands the patience and care they need. Both Ricardo and Paco were communicative, kind, and made sure Juno's first mobile grooming experience was as stress-free as possible. With the new year, I wanted to take a moment to leave a review for Sandy's Groomers. I have been a customer for years, and I wanted to give a shout out to our amazing groomer, Annette. She has been taking care of our dogs with such expertise and care. My dog Cooper is a special pup who is quite selective about who he allows to touch him. However, Annette has managed to build a wonderful rapport with him and consistently does a fantastic job with his grooming. She knows exactly how to handle Cooper and always leaves him looking his best. In addition to her exceptional skills with Cooper, Annette has also worked her magic with our lab Sophie. Sophie is generally hesitant about getting her nails trimmed and doesn't let anyone touch her paws, except for Annette. She has a way of earning Sophie's trust and has successfully managed to keep her nails in great shape. I am incredibly grateful for Annette's talent and dedication to her work. She truly goes above and beyond to make our dogs feel comfortable and look their best. I highly recommend her services and give Sandy's Groomers a well-deserved 5-star rating. I DO NOT recommend taking any of your pets to Sandy she smiles in your face and treats the dogs SO horribly. I dropped of my dog with her as an express because I did not want her sitting in the cage all day and I am a professional women who has allot to do. I went back in after an hour and she forget about my dog!!!! I also saw her yelling at an uncooperative dog and slamming it to the table. I think she puts on a very fake show for us customers. The shampoo's are cheap I asked for Oatmeal and at the end I paid and was told they do not even have Oatmeal they used plain hypo. By the way before I end my WARNING to you my dogs ear was bleeding from how rough she pulled out the ear hair and they completely forgot the anal glands!!! WORST GROOMER EVER = SANDY!!!!! read more

I have been going to Sandy's for about 4 years and I havent gone any where else. Sandy's came highly reccomended by my sis-n-law. The staff and Sandy are awesome. They know my dog by name and give her hugs and treat her like their own. It makes me so happy knowing she is being takin care of and I know she is in good hands. They do an awesome job with everything I ask. I never had any problems except once and Sandy corrected it very qickely and that is why I keep coming back because the customer service is awesome.
