One night I decided to stay in and try Sang Thai. I walked past it almost everyday and it was only about 3 blocks away from my hotel. I walked in and the place was decently decorated, but the staff was incredibly friendly. The lady who took my order was all smiles and just nice as can be. She did also sucker me into ordering more food than I wanted. If you order £20 worth you get a discount and since I expensed my food, I figured why not.
To start, I ordered dim sum which was good, but nothing to rave about. Then I had some prawn pad thai. I love pad thai and this one was pretty great. The best part was that they put quite a few large prawns in. There were way more than I was expecting and the quality of them was higher than what I was thinking. I ordered the gai prewan which was chicken stir fried in sweet and sour sauce just to reach my £20. It was OK, but I should have ordered some rice for it to absorb some of the sauce.
Over all, I liked this place and am not sure why it's not too busy. Every time I walked by, there were just a few people sitting at a table by the window. read more
