Bathroom had an interesting solution: if you happened not to close the 2 doors while on/in the toilet and someone knocked on the room door... Hahaa... well... the world is an oyster. The husband in the bathroom, the family at the door, I'm in between. 10 stars forever! Breakfast was great. Anything you'd expect from a luxury breakfast was presented: fresh scramble eggs, meats, pancakes, fruit, cold cuts, cheeses, GF, breads, etc. And the pièce de résistance was seeing my friend Alexander Klingspor's beautiful paintings in the dining room and lobby. Was given my room within a few minutes of arriving. The room was on the fourth floor and I was pleasantly surprised that it was fairly big. The decor was not entirely new and modern but it did fit the style of the hotel. The room had a good sized desk,comfortable chairs as well as a very comfortable bed. There were plenty of lamps in the room but would have been nice to have a light switch controlling all lamps (now I had to walk around the room to turn on several lamps). There was no iron, ironing board or coffee/tea making facilities but there was a sign at the desk that one could ask the reception for it - did ask and it was promptly brought to my room. The hotel of course offers free wifi and a pretty good selection of TV channels. The bathroom was fairly small but still sufficient. It had a tub (and there were bathrobes in the room).Seeing that it is a five star hotel I would have expected better quality shower gel, shampoo etc, now it was the standard stuff one finds in all Elite hotels. The hotel has a nice pub (the same chain as in many other elite hotels, the Bishops Arms) in the basement and there is also a very nice restaurant. The spa and fitness centre are also above average. Breakfast was not excellent but not as poor as some others have stated. The selection of bread, cold food etc was good. The hot food was limited but good quality. A bit annoying that they charge extra for additional things such as some variety's of coffee (like lattes etc) as well as omelette's, pancakes and such. Service and quality wise I would not rate the hotel as a five star hotel but considering the price level it is not priced as a five star hotel either so to me it is really great for the price paid.

Also the staff there was very kind. The worst part of the stay was few weeks later after stay, when I figured out that I got bedbugs. I have had the Anticimex inspected and can confirm that this is what I have. They were unable to see another link as to how they came from, anywhere other than from the overnight stay at their hotel. I emailed the hotel, and they were not helpful at all. Very sad cause this is not a situation I want to be in. I hope they are doing some actions to get rid of it so other customer would not get the same problems as me.

Grant it may be because I was speaking english. Not sure if that would of matter or not since they said they spoke english. I called back and again i was hung up on. The room was pretty nice but there was not a great view because of a crane that was erected over night. The factory chimney was not a great view because it blocked the ocean view.Location was pretty nice and breakfast was okay. I will most likly not stay at this location again. Maybe I will give it a second chance when construction is completed.

I loved all the food and we each had about 3 small plates to share and or try. We didn't make reservations and were lucky to get a table, because a large party had just finished and cleared up. From the large whirlpools to the anti-gravity loungers, various rainfall rooms, sauna, steam room, and various baths for various body parts, this is a total relaxation experience that can't be beat! My fiancee liked it SO much that she didn't want to leave. We bought a couple of gift cards for her relatives that live in the area so they could go enjoy themselves, too. From the abundant food options inside the hotel to the blocks around, there were plenty of varieties to keep it interesting. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and the beds are good for a decent sleep. The bathroom is ok size and a cool perk is the heated towel racks. Iron, fridge, television, the usual standards are all available with ample closet space. The staff is astoundingly caring and go the extra step to make the trip memorable. On a few occasions, the staff went above and beyond for anything I needed help with. Also, with sporadic rain showers, feel free to borrow an umbrella from the front guest services!

I arrived at 0930 after several long flights from the States. They were quite accommodating while they prepared my room. I was able to check in at 1100. There are several pictures of the updated rooms already on Yelp. The picture I posted is the view from my room. Odd numbered rooms have an interior view, while even numbered rooms have an outside view of Gothenburg. When you check in, make sure you let them know if you have a preference. The gym is small, but the equipment is new and very high tech. For example, the weightlifting equipment has a display that shows you the proper speed for your lifting cycle. There is also a full service Spa onsite as well There are two restaurants on-site, the Atrium and Noot Nordic Kitchen. The included breakfast is nothing less than astonishing. It puts cruise ships to shame. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and the main train station is just across the street, as is the expansive Nordstan shopping mall.

When we arrived the front desk said our Superior suite wasn't ready & offered to take our bags if we wanted to go walk around. We had just traveled all the way from California so I asked if she could just give us any room that was ready so we could shower and change before our dinner reservations. I told her we would take even a standard room. She immediately checked us into an executive suite. The room overlooked the central station and met our needs. We stayed here again toward the end of our stay and this time we got the Superior suite overlooking the lounge. Both rooms had their own charm but if you're a light sleeper I recommend getting a room that faces the inside atrium of the hotel not the street. I slept great in both rooms. Our favorite part about this hotel apart from the decor, great staff and location was the breakfasts. We fell in love with Gothenburg and I believe this hotel played a part in that. When visiting Scandinavia I will try to book stays in Radisssons when possible.
