I have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our spot was G7 which is probably the highest traffic spot on the whole lot, but it honestly wasn't an issue for us. As my husband gets older I find him engaging in old man small talk more and more, so I think he kind of liked being in a spot to give him an excuse to chat with other menfolk about our travels and Vanny DeVito (our class B). G7 is the spot closest to the bathrooms and store, probably a drawback for a lot of people.. but when you have a three year old and 11 month old, easy bathroom/shower accessibility is a perk. It was also just a quick walk over to the playground, which was all wooden and perfectly maintained. I saw in some of the other reviews that some people thought the spots were too close together with no privacy, that wasn't an issue for us. Our spot was roomy (of course a class B takes up minimal space) and no less private, probably more actually, than other KOAs we've stayed at. We didn't bring our dog with us, but if we had there are a few spots with a private fenced dog area included in the campsite! So now I wanna come back with the whole bunch just to snag one of those. There is also the main public dog park (camp K9) which is pretty nice if you have a more sociable dog than my grumpy old lady. If your kids are a little older, the game room is a nice hangout spot with some tables and arcade style games. There's also an outdoor recreation area with a seating area, corn hole, horse shoes, and a putting green. If you don't have a rig or prefer glamping to camping, there are several basic cabins and two luxury cabins to choose from as well. Some of the 1 star reviews also mentioned a sewage smell. That wasn't an issue for us at all. Other than the occasional outdoor cooking smells and some fire smoke, it pretty much just smelled like .. well, nature. Maybe it's just the fact I'm falling in love with Santa Fe and this is an extension of those serotonins ... but this has been one of my favorite KOA stays I've been on with my little fam.

    Our "peaceful"campsite

BEWARE. This KOA is under construction to expand their sites. As a result there are big rig dirt haulers and other heavy equipment whizzing through the camp every 15-20 minutes. No dust abatement measures. Two stars are for clean restrooms and grounds. Despite the owners agreement that our site was not good bc of the construction no refund or discount was offered. $90 a night to be on a busy road with big trucks going by within 10 feet of our picnic table is not acceptable! Pulled in late and the owner and owners son came out to help!! Super friendly and made me feel welcome right off the bat. Our site was furnished with a beautiful wood table and chairs and a new barbecue and brick patio and trees.. Family atmosphere. Most of all I feel very safe!!

Thank you for the 1st class hospitality Santa Fe KOA. Our Cabin was very welcoming and All the KOA staff members were very friendly! We're definitely coming back to stay at Santa Fe KOA.

Private dog park / living area

This was our first time at the Santa Fe KOA. When we arrived at the campground, the front desk staff was very professional and friendly, and they provided a golf cart escort to our campsite. The site was a little tight for our size coach so they offered to move us to a different site. This is a family-owned campground and the owner personally made sure we had a site that would work for us. Well, the new site had its own enclosed dog park. We have 2 dogs (one not great with other dogs), so this was a dream come true for them. We have been to many RV parks, including some very high end resorts, and we have never had a site like this. There is also a large community dog park, putting green, horseshoes, corn hole, playground, and a game room. Great campground, great family and staff!!!

    Sitting in larger cabin.

This KOA is a beautiful get away, the owners are awesome people this place has lots of fun activities, putting green, game room, play ground, and other fun things to do. Grounds are gorgeous, beautiful scenery, cute store with lots of good snacks and fun souvenirs. Our cabin was beautiful, public bathrooms were very clean, has all the amenities you need for a fun getaway. Amazing doggie area for your sweet pets. Close to beautiful Santa Fe, lots of shopping and great restaurants. Thank You!! to the awesome staff for a fantastic time I give this KOA 11out of 10, can't wait to go back someday soon. SZ

My experience has been amazing. Clarissa and her family own and operate this location, and they are 10/10 in every way. Will stay again!

Beautiful and quiet location. We had the deluxe site which we really enjoyed the extra space and being on a corner lot. Staff was friendly.

It was very hot, so we drove up to near the ski area and the temps went from 93 to 66, very close. Lots of restaurants snd shopping around, so close to everything. Park is gravel on concrete. We had shade trees and some parts are really shady. Hosts are very nice and great tour guides. We didn't use the baths but laundry good, $2 load. They have a dog walk up front and a giant dog park about .3 mile from front. It's a walk, but nice. Wifi is pretty much non-existent. Tried to pick up local channels thru air since no cable, but couldn't get any locals. Had to stream Cowboys/Buccs game via ATT but still blurry. Probably a good thing. If you are in Santa Fe to sightsee, this is a great place. Go to MeowWolf. Eat at La Choza. Get Bryan's Auto Detail to come clean your RV.

A SAD GOODBYE !! First off, the team at trailer ranch is phenomenal and they go out of their way…read moreto make sure everything is perfect. Reservations, check in, parking assistance, grounds keeping, maintenance - EVERYTHING !! I have never seen a harder working team of people, raking, mowing, watering, and going the extra mile to just be good humans!! All that said is this place perfect?, No. - but is there truly a perfect in-city RV campground? No there is not. The main problem for me is the noise from Cerritos Blvd. Nothing can stop this as young New Mexico drivers seem to be "praised" and "adored" for removing their mufflers from their cars and racing away from every stop light. All this leads to my initial point. This campground was likely plotted in the 1950's when this part of Sante Fe was ranches way outside of the metro and road noise was never an issue... The vintage-ness exudes from this place and provides it with its charm - It brings back memories of road trips in the backwards facing seat way in the back of the Country Squire Station Wagon and Olds Vista cruiser wagon - Even visits to summer camp in the 1960/70's. This campground is actually a tiny piece of Americana that will be lost in a few months, never to be again. Beautiful tress to be eliminated and vintage adobe buildings to be razed. If my information is correct, this is the last summer, and this site will fall to the hands of developers to build another ugly mini mall or faceless and devoid of personality condo buildings. A sad farewell to the place and to all the people who have kept this place all these years - PLEASE DO STAY HERE until it all ends. I am unsure of the dates.

Parking looks like it might get tough on busy weekends, mid-week we didn't have an issue early, and but when we left in the early afternoon, the main lot was pretty full. 2. The main Pueblo Loop trail was well maintained and quite accessible up to and just past the Big Kiva and Tyuonyi. The top-back part of the loop was a little more broken up, but still a pretty easy stroll. 3. The trail out to the Alcove House was absolutely beautiful! It's not paved, but it's a well maintained gravel. The ladders to the alcove itself are an interesting experience. If you don't love heights, there are some benches at the bottom of the ladder to sit on and relax. 4. Helpfully, there is a well-maintained pit toilet about halfway out, in case you need it. 5. The restaurant at the visitor center might not be the most efficient place, but the food was much better than you would expect!

I have been fascinated by Native American cliff-dwelling habitats since studying them in grade…read moreschool, but I never had, nor took the opportunity to explore them, until daytripping to Bandelier. The visitors' center and the grounds were everything. The paths were clear and an easy hike. Looking off, beyond the paths was the gem. You could viscerally feel as though you were on the otherside of the looking glass, into time forgotten. There was almost a sacred quality to the excursion, which could've been because it was a weekday and there weren't many other tourists. Or, it could've been because the Pueblo people who lived there from 1150 to 1550 were still there, peacefully watching over the place. Haunted is different than sacred. I guess the best way to describe it is: It was a place of a more natural, more wild west and awareness. It's a well-known place to New Mexicans as well as people studied in the culture of the area. As a layperson, I was both surprised and captivated. If you are mesmerized by history and want to step into a different culture, a different time, this is a place you must explore.
