I had a really bad experience with this bank. Instead of helping customer service tried to convince me why they're right. Attitude of being too big to fail. read more

What she just did was depositing her savings and making transfer, never had any debit, never went overdraft. They keep ignoring our calls or redirecting them to the customer service, which keeps telling us they don't know the reason and that i have to wait a letter (which still hasn't arrived). We can't have access to our own money saved over the years and we don't know even why.

HSBC Bank
Well, this has to be the worst HSBC branch in London, so why is it still operating? For starters…read morethere is no automatic pay-in machine, and only one cash point outside and one inside. So the only way to pay in was to use the human beings there. Why would this be a problem? If you ever watched Little Britain and the bank/travel agents with the "assistant" who coughs and just says "computer says no", then what I found in Putney was a real life character of that skit. Unhelpful, useless and the misery on their faces says 'I hate customers'. So HSBC London, when will you close this branch down, refit with automatic machine like the ones I use at Camden & Canary Wharf. Also, dire I say it, Wandsworth Town (not a location to go to by choice) does a far better banking service, Putney needs to learn from them. You can get a staff members from the Wandsworth branch, save some money by not restraining Putney staff, well maybe the customer advisor as she did smile and genuine seems happy to help customers. If I was restricted to the Putney branch for my banking, I would have moved to another bank by now.

Ok so I don't really have much choice in going every now and then as this is my local branch, but…read morethe customer service in this branch can leave you more than a little hot under the collar. The staff seem slow and lazy, and at it's busiest times they open the fewest counters, despite the fact that the additional cashiers are chatting and laughing behind the scenes..obviously not doing anything when they could be serving you when the queue is out the door! Once I asked to see a financial advisor so we could ask advice about mortgagesonly to be told to go away and find a place we liked first and then come back.what?? How would we know what was in our price range without speaking to someone first? Also a few of the cashiers speak very poor English which is something that really rustles my feathers Rant over.if you can go to another branch!

The 'greeter' here is amazing - they must choose a manager-level employee to do this because he knows everything and can solve any problem (it has always been a 'he' so far). The staff in general has been very professional and helpful. One complaint is that it still takes forever to get anything done, but once it's done, it's great.

They made me waste a month by losing documentation I provided to them, not informing me correctly as to which documents I had to bring first or spotting if there was any error. I wasted my time and money making endless phone calls to the business banking team, which contradicted themselves by providing very different information every time I called. Their attitude is far from being proactive as they never called me to keep me updated on my application. Shameful customer service.

Occasionally people in the queue would get distressed and even start abusing the staff. I see no reason for this however as it is not their fault. Whenever I have received direct service from one of the employees they have always been very gracious and helpful. I think they should hire more staff as many times I go in there is only 2 people on a counter that could fit 10. It is however clean in there and generally well presented. If you want fast banking I would not recommend this store.

This location in Fulham Broadway is pretty cool, the staff were friendly and attentive and printed my new card in-store, I only had to wait for a couple of minutes. I love how if you lose or have a problem with your card, you can come into store and get a new one, compared to other high street banks that make you wait for days. I was even able to leave, get a few things from Sainsbury's and come back. The store is normally open until 8 pm but as of the time of writing (September 2021), they are still on reduced hours, closing at 6 pm. I do also dislike how like all Metro Bank locations, they lack indoor cash machines, this can often mean the experience of paying in and withdrawing money is quicker, but the staff are friendly and happy to help, as quick as possible. 4* - Friendly service, the bank looked pretty good too, lacking some features but still all in all a good place to bank.
